I approached the Airtel store in Marathahalli, Bangalore on 27th May 2015 to get a micro SIM instead of a normal SIM which I was using for my mobile number [protected]. The process was very fast to get the Micro SIM - submitted the ID proof, address proof and photograph, and at 5:55 PM on 27th May I got an SMS from AX-AIRSIM reading ' Important Update: SIM change request has been initiated for airtel mobile [protected]. If not requested for SIM change, SMS NSIM to 52212 immediately'. When I took the new micro SIM the staff at the store informed me that the new SIM would activated in 4 hours. But till now it is not activated. I contacted the customer care by phone and e-mail and both informed me that they do not see any SIM change request against my account and asked me to contact the store from where I bought the new micro SIM. I am completely confused now on what to do.
Few days back I changed my Tata DOCOMO SIM from normal to Micro and the new SIM was activated in 30 minutes, then why it is taking some much time and effort to get the same service from Airtel.
I would request a solution i.e. activation of the new SIM card at the earliest possible.
