Hello,
Was travelling to out of country for some work, called customer support to activate international roaming, gave me option for 1199 plan with unlimited incoming calls, 3 gb data and 120 minutes outgoing calls. I subscribed for both the packs
Reached my destination 2nd day phone stopped working, took a local sim and international calling for usd 40 called airtel number [protected], customer support. He informed me somehow its mentioned in notes but your plan never got activated, will do it now. As i made some calls after reaching my destination for the first day asked the rep about the charges for that he said wait till 9th of may and we will sort it out its not your fault. I did not take any chances and wrote an email to airtel with the snapshot of the sms received same day, customer support asked me till 9th may when bill gets generated.
Bill generated for inr 7119 (Charged me two extra 499 plus 1650 for calling), called their customer support same day and after many calls was able to talk to their supervisor asked me to wait for 5 more days. I informed her that i have already attached the sms confirmation which i received from airtel initially before travel, but she said will have to listen to phone conversation looks like being a telecom company airtel do not trust their own text messages they send to customers.
Called today again after 5 days they dont have any response, asked for one more day after accepting that it is their fault but needs times.
I do not know what should i do go? File a case with consumer court.
