Airtel — Postpaid Plan Changed from 799 to 999 without consent

Hi,

This is to escalate my issue regarding the plan change resulting in an increase of the monthly bill.

I have been on the Family 799 plan for quite some time now without any issue. However, on 11th Aug, my plan was automatically changed to 999 plan without my consent. No prior consent via SMS or email was requested from me as well. While raising this request through the app on 13th and 20th Sep, ticket id[protected] and[protected] respectively, no resolution was given and the requests were automatically closed with no proper explanation.

On 25th Sep, I called 198 and was informed that I will receive a call back within 24hrs. This did not happen. I called 198 again on 28th Sep and explained my situation in detail to Sarthak Bakshi (Senior Supervisor) and Abhishek Thakur. However, Sarthak has a very arrogant attitude with no real intention of resolving this issue when I requested for adjustment of excess charge since I have not received any notification via SMS or email even though it shows up in the Airtel system as being sent to me.

I am not sure who and why, but the 799 plan was deactivated which was working perfectly fine for me. In addition, I have been forced to switch to the 999 plan without any proper added benefits over the previous plan which seems more like bullying. I understand that I cannot be switched back to the old plan. What I am hoping for is an adjustment for Rs 236 (inclusive of GST) for a loyal customer such that I am still paying the old amount that I have been paying so far.

I have always enjoyed Airtel service and hope that this issue will not dent our long relationship in any way. Looking forward to your prompt and positive response.
