Airtel — Prepaid Sim converted into Postpaid without any request

My Prepaid Airtel Sim is converted into Postpaid without any request from me and moreover the Monthly plan is arbitrarily selected was highest Rs.652 plus taxes of Rs.117/. I use to recharge around 500 for 84 days and paying 769 per month is cruel joke and cheating by the company. No message is received on my prepaid SIM that your number is converted into Postpaid and monthly rent plan is 769 with taxes. I only received the message about monthly bill and I thought that it might be ONLINE SCAM messages, as is happening every other day. When I requested the customer care to change it back to Postpaid, they say you have to approach Airtel Store but they have NO ANSWER "How a Prepaid can be converted into Postpaid without approaching nearest Airtel Store" and that too without any request and intimation from company about change of SIM. Its UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICE by Airtel Company.

Updated by anju_singh The prepaid SIM belonged to my Wife. I talked to the customer care demanding payment about the possibility of online scams claiming money. But this was a shock. SO EASY to convert from prepaid to postpaid at home, because it benefits the company and when i instructed to get it back into pre-paid after making online payment of money demanded and filing of consumer complaint., he says you have to approach nearest Airtel Store for conversion of post paid to prepaid.
