Airtel — reactivation delay and not done by airtel customer to get the same number,poor service by airtel

I am using same airtel number since 2009. I did not recharge for 90 days and it got deactivated. I have resubmitted the documents before 15 days grace period to reactivate the same number but the Airtel showroom which is in Ashok Nagar, Chennai have not processed my application and they are telling us they could not retrieve the same number because it crossed the grace period. This is really unfair as I use that number for a long time. Even though there is no airtel customer care number to call from overseas. This is really poor service from Airtel.
