Airtel — unauthorized opening of bank account in my name | |
I have linked my airtel mobile with my adhar number as per the order from the govt of india in september 2017. Immediately i received an sms from airtel saying that they have opened a bank account in my name with the adhar details. Airtel has no right to open a bank account in my name with my adhar details without my consent. My lpg subsidy has been credited to the airtel account recently and i have no access to this account to get this money back. I am not sure whether any other payment has been credited to this account. This seems to be a consumer cheating procedure supported by the govt. Of india. Even though many similar complaints have been raised by consumers, govt of india is still asking the people to link their mobile numbers with the confidential details of adhar. The bank accounts created by airtel should be closed down immediately by airtel Was this information helpful? | |

Hi, you are right that mobile company has opened bank account in your name using adhar is illigal & without consent, govt of india through RBI permitted no of companies including mobile operators using mobile apps for basic accounts up to & maximum Rs 50000/- in an account. However it does not mean that operators can open a/c w/o your consent. Now days there are stiff competition among financial institutions to get govt subsidies to their individual accounts. Now you may insist operator to close the account in your name without any charge or else complain banking ombudsman in this regard against operator
