It is with so much dissatisfaction, frustration and hopelessness I want to bring it to the notice of the concerned consumer complaint department that Airtel - claimed to be one of the most trusted providers of telecom services is nothing but a BURGLAR in the name of a brand.
A brand that is now showing its true nature of monopoly to its customers in the name of terrible customer service, unnecessary charges and incompetent customer & billing support.
Here's my case and complaint against a “default data pack activated by Airtel” against international roaming WITHOUT our consent and then forcefully pushing us to pay the charges WITHOUT having a conversation/disapproval/dissatisfaction and even threatening the discontinuation of the service with immediate effect!! (The number which we have carried for 10+ Years)

Now if team airtel can check this, it would be prominent that a representative named Rafique (billing team) literally was so inconsiderate, disrespectful and insolent with my wife that I sitting by her side was shocked on how an employee can speak like this, especially when our complaint was not even heard and understood properly! Of course, a name that doesn't have a FACE! He was AIRTEL and all he wanted to say, hear, talk was that “we owe money to airtel, pay for your services or will be disconnected. Period.”
Anyways, we had hopes, so we tried 121 again, to have a meaningful conversation. (Screenshots and time spent on these calls are attached!)
But to our surprise, other than call waiting, and non-meaningful repetitive discussions and fake promises, the needle on the case didn't move.
With (Ishan and Taniya), supervisors we spoke to, we were finally given a consolation that till the time your complaint and ticket is not resolved you will not be charged late payment fees but I don't think, automation is helping brands like Airtel here! They never look back!
While the regular bill was paid and disputed amount was on hold, the new bill has been charged with late payment fees (bill attached!) despite of being told that the case is open.
I sincerely request the concerned parties to look into the case and suggest a way forward here.

We have paid the bills and cleared the unnecessary charges/fees added by Airtel because there is no hope of resolution and due to monopoly and threats, we had to pay!! As we cannot afford to lose the number.
Case is: Airtel charged us international roaming fees, without our consent of getting any such service activated, over and above - applied a default pack everyday, again without our consent.
As far as we understand even TRAI guidelines requested all service providers to inform consumers as soon as international mobile roaming is activated? Article from Sep 2020

Here’s the funny argument by the team. So my other number 8826*****7, (again airtel!) was with me switched on all the time - same travel, same location, same duration but was not charged with these fees as the team said “the other number did not get a latch to a network, hence charges didn't apply, and the latching is a random process. It may or may not happen to a mobile number!”
Really??
With more than 7+ Airtel services and products being used by us, we truly wish to Boycott Airtel and its services and move to a better service provider.
