I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Airtel India regarding a serious issue with my mobile number [protected], which has been inactive for over 3 days due to a stuck SIM Swap Request in their system.
🔹 Issue Details:
I had requested an eSIM previously, which was later cancelled at the store.
After factory resetting my phone and losing access to the old device, I visited the Airtel Store in Pune to get a new physical SIM.
However, the store is unable to issue a new SIM, as the system shows:
"SIM Swap Request is already in progress for [protected]".
This pending request is stuck, and the Airtel backend is not resolving it.
🔹 What I Have Already Tried:
10+ emails sent to Airtel customer care.
Multiple visits to the Airtel Store.
Messages sent to @airtelindia on Instagram and Twitter.
Raised the issue with the Nodal Officer, but no resolution or proper reply has been provided.
🔹 Impact:
My mobile number is completely inactive.
I am missing important OTPs, banking alerts, and work-related calls.
Airtel's failure to resolve this is causing severe inconvenience and possible financial loss.
📌 Request:
I kindly request the intervention of the regulatory body to:
Direct Airtel to immediately close the pending SIM swap request.
Ensure a new SIM is issued without further delay.
Take note of the negligence and non-responsiveness from Airtel support teams.
I have attached a screenshot showing the store error message as proof.
