[Resolved] Airtel — Wrong suspension of connection | |||
I am an existing Airtel user, A/c No [protected]. I had initially taken only a 6 month connection. After expiry of this period, company automatically extended my connection on monthly basis without my prior knowledge. In January '14, on my complaint, they agreed to settle all my previous outstanding amounting to Rs. 2896/- against payment of Rs. 1796/- (i.e. Rs. 1100 waiver since connection was extended without any prior intimation and I had not even used it for the entire period) and a new 6 monthly plan expiring on 27th July '14 for Rs. 4496. I have this commitment in writing from Airtel. The payment were made by three cheques amounting to Rs. 898 x 2 and third cheque of Rs. 4496 on 31st Jan. Now in May '14, to my utter dismay and surprise, the connection got suspended for outstanding dues of Rs. 2197 and since then I am being regularly harassed over phone calls and smses to clear this due despite my plea that my outstandings were all cleared when I made the three cheque payments on 31st Jan and even having a mail in writing from Airtel that this clears my all outstanding till date and new half yearly plan is activated to be continued till 27th July. I obviously did not make payment of Rs. 2197 as being claimed by Airtel since this is a clear violation of our agreement. My pleas and explanations to Airtel Customer care on the matter is to no avail as they are refusing to acknowledge that there was any such agreement made by the company despite their written word and even after escalating the matter to their Appellate authority, the issue remains unresolved. More so, yesterday I get a letter from Airtel claiming their outstanding amount and threatening me with legal action if I refuse to pay. This is an extremely condemnable and unscrupulous act on their part as they are refusing to listen to my side of story and keep insisting I clear this amount. I have grown tired of explaining this matter to Airtel and would be extremely grateful if your forum could take up my grievance for redress. Was this information helpful? | |||
