Amazon India — not accepting legal currency issued by rbi asking the customer to pay the amount in higher denomination
I have placed an order or a samsung mobile phone on the amazon app, worth ₹9000, the delivery person came and i gave him the amount in ₹10 notes but he refused to accept the amount. I complained about it on the amazon customer care, there was a guy named mohit, he said the the official position of the company is that the customer can pay the amount in any denominations they want even in coins, but i they won't accept the payment in the currency that i am paying and i will have to change the notes to a higher denomination. I even offered to collect my package from there warehouse if it's a hassle for the person to take the payment in the aforesaid denomination, but they bluntly refused and said that nobody in the warehouse or from amazon infia will accept the payment in the denomination i am paying even though i am ready to carry the amount myself to their warehouse. I am looking into legal advice regarding this matter. Please help me regarding this. Thank you. Uzair abdul Was this information helpful?
