I am writing to complain on behalf of my friend who received a suspicious job offer from persons claiming to be from the HR department of your bank. They contacted my friend via SMS after she started looking at job postings on Quikr. When she called the number a man asked for her educational qualifications and asked her to send a copy of her certificates over WhatsApp. When she did that, they got in touch with her again today (over WhatsApp), and asked her to fill out a form and pay an amount of Rs. 230 as "service/verification charge". They sent their account number and other bank details to transfer the money.
I was suspicious because all the correspondence was over WhatsApp, SMS and calls, but not a single email. The application form also contained several spelling and grammatical mistakes. Upon a google search, I found a tweet from Axis Bank stating that the bank does not ask for money for job applications. I am attaching the form and also including the two phone numbers from which they contacted her. If this is a genuine job offer from your bank, please let me know of that.
The phone numbers from which she received the calls are: [protected] & [protected] Was this information helpful? |
