[Resolved]  Bharati Airtel Limited — Poor postpaid service, worst customer support and insulting billing department

I took a new postpaid connection [protected] from airtel. But I found that I am getting no signals in area where I reside, ( Induri, Maval Taluka, Pune ). I was not able to make or receive any calls practically.

Whenever I called airtel customer care I would get very random answers. Interestingly non one ever said that airtel has non coverage in that area, but they would always give assurance that this is a temporary problem 'only today' and it will become fine afterwards. Which would add to my problem as I had false hopes.

Finally I had to stop using the Sim after a suffering of a week. I called for the procedure for disconnecting the phone the customer care people would try to canvass me that this is a good plan and you could keep for your future use. And after my not agreeing and trying to ask procedure for disconnection they would say that they cannot help with this and I would have to go to airtel center only (which is not there in my area at all). Seems mobile companies offer all facilities except assistance in disconnecting the phone (for obvious reasons). If company could offer a new connection without the need of a customer care center then there should be no difficulty in a terminating a connection. If there is need also then company should provide some 'Relationship Center' in the vicinity.

Later I started getting calls from the 'Recovery Department' that I have not filled my bills for the number and a total of 1170 is pending to be paid. But problem is that I would get calls to frequently (upto 30 calls a day) and also they talk in a very insulting tone. Even I try to cooperate with them but they are simply rude and insulting in their behavior. I was getting calls from some Mr. Vishal Singh, From Mumbai Malad Office (Name and office is as per told by him and is told by lot of persuation). I was ready to do payment (Paying 1100 without using even once) but there is no center availavble and also not doing online.

They told me that as a workaround some Ms. Tanushree told me that I can make payment to [protected] number and after giving the transaction ID they will transfer the funds to my number [protected] and the dues will be settled. But as they always call from mobiles and not from the official number I asked to send an official mail telling above procedure to which she agreed and kept the phone. After 5 mins she only called back in angry tone and started using insulting and threatening language. She was saying that you need a mail for just this 'small amount' even when I am following up for last one month, you don't have trust. Now 'I' am telling that you don't pay even a rupee also and you will see legal consequences after which you will submit it automatically. I told her that I am recording the words she is speaking, to which she became even more wild "Arre recording ki Dhamki kisko de rahe ho, main bhi record kar rahi hoon. Abhi aap court mein dekhna ki kya hota hai"

Now this behaviour is out of my understanding. Even when I am trying to cooperate I am getting harassed in this way. If airtel is hearing to these complaints then I need clarification on following points.

1. What are the details of bill of 1170 on my above mobile.
2. Are the people calling above are authorised by airtel to call like this.
3. If yes, what is your policy regarding contacting customers and dealing with them respectfully.
4. In such harassment and abuse, will you issue an official apology from Airtel side.

Please help me.
