Hi,
My name is Sumit Thorat and my airtel post paid number is [protected]. I have been a genuine and a loyal customer of your company since the last 4 to 5 years.
I want to make an official complaint in regards to a serious lapse of customer service by your collection agents.
Due to my work, i had to travel a lot due to which my bill gets pending. Therefore while i am travelling my parents take care of my phone bills. I always keep black checks signed for my parents to use it towards our utility bill. I prefer cheque payment rather than online or cash. So for my pending bill of INR 5000.00 i had received a call from a collection agent called Irfan who advised me to give a cheque of the same amount, i had informed that i will not be able to put a confirm date on the cheque because my dad recently was hospitalized and i paid a huge hospital bill, i wanted to buy time so i advised Irfan that il contact them while i am able to pay the bill in full. To which the agent advised me to give a check at least without putting a date as its a financial year ending so they have to close all the pending bills by 31MAR. He further advised me that he will personally contact me to ask the date when i am ready to pay the bill, to which i agreed and instructed my parents to give the cheque to a airtel guy who will be visiting our place.
On 03/04/2014 is got a check return notification from my bank and on further investigation to my surprise i found out that t is the same cheque which has been returned which i gave to your collection agent. Upset and disappointed i tried calling that agent irfan on his personal number which he gave me but no response. After 2-3 days i received a call from irfan advising me that my cheque has been returned upon question him how it was even put for clearance when i had not given an authorised date. I advised that it was a mistake from their back hand dept, in a fist of anger and with a feeling of betrayal i disconnected the phone.
As a result i now have a Home Loan file pending for approval at my bank managers desk. Reason ??? the return check which i gave you guys with trust and loyalty. My cibil report is now affected and my bank is now re considering my application for a home loan. I am now in a jeopardy due to this serious error done by you guys. My dream house is shattered. i will not only call this a major service lapse but actually a big time fraud. I feel cheated.
Today again i received a call from airtel asking me to pay the bill. out of anger i told i am not going to pay the bill and i was called a non genuine customer ???? to whomsoever it may concern please check my records and my usage and my payments that i had done to this great company and yourself check my genuinity. i never denied paying my bills.
I want to be compensated handsomely as because of a single mistake your end i don't know how long i had to wait to buy my dream house because as i am typing my application for loan still remains pending because of the cheque i gave you guys. If i will not be getting any solution your end then i will be further appealing this matter in the consumer court.
