We hired blue star packers and movers on 30 march 2018 to pack, store and ship all our belongings from bangalore to mumbai, with a flexible storage period. Initially this was anticipated for a short period o[censored]p to three months only, but extended to 9 months in total.
At the time of packing we notified the company of an uncertain moving date as we had business to attend to in london which at the time we were assured would not be an issue.
Much to our disappointment and distress, at the time o[censored]npacking our furniture, clothes, utensils, etc in mumbai mid-january 2019, we discovered the majority to be soiled and/or damaged/eaten by rats. Some items were mouldy, glassware/crockery smashed.
When speaking to mr. Vijay singh, of blue star packers and movers, we were told this is our own fault, as we have extended the initial storage period of one month.
I find this behaviour and response highly unethical and unacceptable as the duration of storage should not affect the quality of my belongings. We were assured all items will be kept in "storage facilities maintaining the highest hygiene standards, and are suitable for the storage of foodstuffs and for other products". (Quote from blue star website).
It also appears a box of garments was opened and some items stolen.
During follow-up conversations, mr singh has promised:
• to send his insurance person to assess the damage. Never happened.
• share contact details for the delhi ho to log a formal complaint. Never happened.
• upon request of the exact ‘warehouse’ location i was not provided with those details.
• highlighting the theft of some garments, was met with yet more silence.
We paid for insurance and having notified that the damage exceeds 1.2 lakh, mr. Singh again said this is our fault and he is not wiling to compensate. All my furniture was 1 year old and i have proof of purchase.
Do not use this company. This is an unprofessional set-up run by a bunch of crooks that will take your money and mess with you. Checking out all the positive reviews, i find it highly suspicious that all are left by a person called singh.
I have reported blue star to ncib and will continue until action has been taken.
