Booking.com — fraudulent price display
Date: december 23, 2018 Ph:[protected] Confirmation number: [protected] Pin code: 6772 I was searching in google for a hotel online at munnar on 31st december. We found a villa in munnar tea country resort for a price of ₹ 5, 085.37 if booked through www.booking.com, while other websites were charging more than ₹ 9000. We went ahead and booked the villa for one night. After the booking we received an email stating we have to pay additional ₹ 2000 as peak season mandatory supplement, ₹ 915.37 as gst. So we called up the hotel, they said apart from all these charges we have to pay an additional ₹ 6000 for mandatory gala dinner, that is around ₹ 14000 total price instead of ₹ 5, 085.37. Booking.com were not advertising the hidden charges before. After raising a complaint with them they changed the displayed amount to ₹ 7500 in google, which was ₹ 5, 085.37 before. They declined a refund telling refund should be requested before 14 days, even though booking was done on 23rd of this month. I feel i was cheated by the website by hiding the mandatory charges which the hotel is imposing on customers (Not sure how a dinner can be made mandatory!!!). I would like to get a refund of the amount that the website charged us. I am attaching the confirmation email from the website and the email from the hotel. Please help us in this matter. Regards, Shinil Was this information helpful?
