Hotel cancel my booking by demanding extra money

Dear Sir,
On 21/12/2023 I have online booked Executive Hotel Paris Gennevilliers through booking.com (Booking Number- [protected]) for 4/8/2024 to 12/8/2024.
The full amount (Euro 1119.96) is paid online and booking.com has sent me the confirmation letter.
On 6/1/2024 the Hotel authority mailed me that the price is lower than our rate and if you want to continue your booking you have to pay 350 Euro per night, otherwise...

    Very terrible experience with booking.com

    On Sep. 16th, I initially made a reservation on booking.com with confirmation number [protected], and pin code 0147, I cancelled this reservation immediately after I realized that the room was only accommodating 4 people which did not fit our requirement.     I tried to pay online for excess baggage (lufthansa airlines). The payment failed, but the money was debited. Inspite of contacting customer service several times, the money has not been refunded yet. It has been over a month since I initially contacted the company. They always say that the money will be refunded in a few days, but the money was not refunded.

      I had booked two rooms in RK Holiday Home, Puri for 14 - 17 December2023 Jun through Booking.com and as per their request through email paid an advance amount of Rs 3000 through Phone Pay for this booking on 19th September 2023. Subsequently I received a confirmation from ojotrip through WhatsApp. But they confirmed my booking in Sumana Holiday Inn which I did not book. I have asked them to book my rooms in RK Holiday home, but they did not listen to it. I cancelled this booking and also received a confirmation regarding the cancellation. But although I have made several requests for refunding the advance that I had paid, I have not yet received the amount.
      Since I had made the booking through Booking.com it is their responsibility to see that I get back my money.
      So please help me in getting back my money of Rs. 3000.00

        I had booked a hotel through booking.com for my trip to Vietnam in ho chi Minh City. Hotel name was cabana hotel saigon - 260 ly tu trong.

        My international flight from India to Ho chi Minh was delayed I was supposed to reach at around 7.30 on 20 July and since the check in time was 2 pm i took one whole extra day so that I don't have to wait. My flight was delayed by 2 hours, I reached hotel at 9.30/10 am but till then I came to know they have cancelled my booking. I requested them that booking.com have already deducted by money and you have cancelled my booking. After lot of request they agreed, but they informed that the stay which I have booked there the AC is not working and hence they will shift to some other hotel of their branch which was really pathetic.

        I checked in at 12 pm in the hotel after all of this issues and that too not in hotel which I had booked for myself .

        I paid 2 days money where hotel dint allow us to do a late check out and the alternate room provided to us was so pathetic. I have been chasing booking com from one month but there is no reply from there end as well. I want my refund back

          I had booked two rooms in Capital O Perfect Inn, Noida for 28 Jun-30 Jun through Booking.com and as per their request through email paid an advance amount of Rs 1892.69 through Google Pay for this booking on 27 Jun 2023. Subsequently I received a confirmation from OYO hotels through Booking.com regarding confirmation of the booking (Confirmation No. [protected]). But on 28 Jun 2023 I cancelled this booking and also received a confirmation regarding the cancellation. But although I have made several requests for refunding the advance that I had paid, I have not yet received the amount. On contacting Booking.com, they said to take up with the hotel. On contacting the hotel, the owner/Manager says it is OYO’s responsibility to return and not his. And on contacting OYO, they furnished a Ticket Id No.[protected] on 4 Jul 2023 and said Customer Service will get back to me but there has been no response from them after that. Neither from Booking.com nor from OYO.
          Since I had made the booking through Booking.com it is their responsibility to see that I get back my money either from OYO or the hotel or wherever and they cannot just shift their responsibility and push off.
          So please help me in getting back my money of Rs. 1892.69.

            I am saikumar Srivastava I have booked a room through booking .com whcich showed me price as 7407+ taxes and my booking Confirmation number: [protected] and pin for this is 7926 I got a total bill for 8295 rs for room rent and if I come up directly to the hotel it would have costed me just 4840rs . I came across this Scam from booking.com as one of my friend joined me for the same trip and he came directly along with me and hired a room here same time and same place and same number of days and his total came to 4840rs only . The service and trust on booking.com has gone and I believe this is pathetic scam and they need to stop it and refund my money which I have paid extra to the hotel which I stayed in .
            I request the consumer forum to cancel their licence and all agreements that they have made and give justice to the costumers who all have logged a complaint towards this . Need a clarity on this asap and my money is not meant to be enjoyed by anyone other than me . So please look in to it and return my money back

              Booked and stayed at Oyo HOTEL HR INN 41335, Salt Lake, Kolkata from Booking.com from[protected] till[protected] for 6007.84 INR.
              But, the Hotel, Booking.com and OYO Rooms charged me a total of 15044.84 INR for my stay.
              To Oyo - 3003.84
              To Booking.com- 12041
              They had committed to refund the extra amount (9037.00 INR) after 15 working days from the check out date (18/12/2022).
              But, the amount is yet to be credited to my bank account after several mails and reminders to the Hotel, Booking.com and OYO ROOMS.
              Kindly help to refund my extra charged amount of 9037.00 INR to my bank account to the earliest.

                  Hi,
                  I booked a hotel called OYO Flagship 9528 Hotel Midas Capital. I was charged additional money for having breakfast added for my stay. However during the stay in the hotel the hotel persons denied the breakfast saying they do not provide breakfast. When I reached Oyo rooms they asked me to talk to https://www.booking.com. I never got any response from Booking.com. After this even Oyo said that this breakfast has been made complimentary even when I was charged extra money for this and they denied my refund.

                      Hello,
                      I bought air tickets for a 2 day vacation from booking.com But they are still not issued. I have change in plans now but since the tickets are not issued, they won't be able to cancel/change anything. How stupid, I told the customer service agent that I've checked with the airline and the tickets are not issued, Why don't you give me a refund instead She says she can't do anything and can't have supervisor come on the phone and can't even help me.
                      This is a serious issue.
                      Tickets are usually instant and nobody needs to wait for plane tickets to be issued later. Customer service at its lowest.

                        I'm sending you and email, because I'm appalled at your company and the lack of care and concern that me, my husband and disabled child received. The people that work and answer for this company make me no longer want to use bookings. com ever again and I will also alert my family, friends and co-workers never to use bookings.
                        I was in contact with reps at bookings when they or the system allowed me to book a reservation for 2 weeks knowing they had no availability at the extended stay. reservation was[protected]. Now we were down for a funeral and had lack of funds . Bookings expected us to pay for another hotel without comp us. I'm quite furious as to how all this happened and yet I was told if we spend for another hotel, bookings would reimburse us. Now I had to borrow to pay for another room and when I issue bookings the receipts they tell me another fabrication. Right before I emailed receipts I spoke to the rep to confirm that I receiving a refund for having to stay at another hotel once our stay was over, being that it took so long for a refund. ( you may check the voice conversations they are recorded as well I recorded the conversation for complete understanding) what they now state is they are not refunding. Im completely disappointed and I'm going to forward this and all conversations to my son disability team and lawyer to get satisfaction.

                            I made a booking to fly to Nice with my wife. Your reference[protected]

                            On 29 May I received an email titled "Sorry. we couldn't book your flight to Nice"
                            The email said that any charge would be refunded and recommended that I search again for a flight. The exact words were:
                            "If you still want to book a flight to Nice, you can search again."

                            In view of this, I did another search and decided to use a different agent and a different airline for my journey.

                            My bank account showed that Booking.com had taken out £726.54.

                            As the first email stated that £726.54 would be put back in my account in 2-5 business days I was not concerned.

                            However, I now find that they have no intention of refunding the fare and somehow you have rebooked the cancelled flight without my permission ref[protected].

                            I have used Booking.com for many years and reached Genius Level 3. I have received excellent service .

                            After speaking with their customer service agents many times over the last few weeks I have not received satisfaction.

                            I accepted that they had cancelled by booking and, accordingly I booked again with a different airline.

                            I need to resolve this situation as I am £726 out of pocket through no fault of my own.

                              Booking.com charged me INR 14000 for changing the dates of the flight I am at the airport with my senior citizen parents and Vistara informs me that Booking.com took the money and cancelled it from their end.                                 I booked Comfortable Apartment while visit to singapore on following dates.
                                An executive from booking.com shared link in whatsapp and asked me to pay an amount of Rs.10000.
                                so i made the booking and found the property never existed when i reached singapore.

                                The property never existed but there is no response from customer service though i raised the concern which seems to be a big fraud.
                                I need my hardearned money back to my account without any delays.
                                I lost 2days for booking accommodation in singapore after i reach the property, i need compensation or file complaint with cybercell .

                                I am expecting compensation for irresponsibility of booking.com publishing wrong property and
                                money charged for the boooking has to be refunded with penalty as i have to struggle for booking another accommodation standing on roads in the sun in singapore

                                  I had booked fabHotels 7 nights Jagatpura, jaipur for 4 days, Ie 11-15th March. Firstly they made me pay approx 30% of the amount before my arrival, then when I reached the hotel they made me pay the full amount before check-in, said they won't let me in if I don't pay the full amount i.e. 3241. The room was not as per the picture showed on the websit, it was very dirty, lights were not working, when I denied to stay there, the hotel staff/owner started misbehaving, so I left the hotel. I filed a complaint against them on the customer care of booking.com and requested them to cancel my booking and refund the amount. They promised me to get the refund with a nominal charges of 100rs. It's been 48 hours I didnt get my refund. I called the customer care again and they told me the hotel is offering stay at some other hotel of their but not giving the refund. I am highly unhappy with this. It's mental harassment.. I am stuck and can't do anything.

                                    I am a regular customer of zostel and have stayed in many properties of zostel within India and Nepal. However, I just had a terrible experience with zostel today, and this is the first time I ever experienced something like this at zostel.                                     The driver pre booked and paid for through booking.com to pick me up on arrival did not show up until 1 hour after my arrival.
                                    By this time i was already20 minutes into my journey by a taxi i got in the taxi rank.
                                    Now i am trying to get reinburst for the cost of the taxi i used because of the no show taxi driver booked and paid for though booking.com

                                      I made a reservation for the Twin Villa, Igatpuri on June 04, 2021 bearing confirmation number [protected] by online website booking.com.
                                      This reservation was done by me for my parents and their friends. Accordingly, at 12:00 hours my parents arrive at the property, whereby while check-in they were informed that Villa is already booked. My dad showed the relevant confirmation email received from Booking.com along with the confirmation ID. But to his surprise the manager did not allow him to check in. Even after receiving confirmation email we weren’t allowed to check in.
                                      Therefore, i tried to contact consumer services and elucidated the entire matter. Whereby we were informed that they will look into the matter and get back to us within 30 minutes. My dad waited for more than an hour but did not receive any response.
                                      Moreover, I received at email from booking.com stating that your reservation at Twin Villa has been cancelled. Our bookings were cancelled without any communication.
                                      We again tried contacting customer service and requested them for alternate booking. But Booking.com failed to provide us an alternate accommodation. We are really disappointed with Booking.com service.
                                      It is not the kind of treatment I would have expected from Booking.com being one of the largest OTT platform.

                                        The issue that I have experienced was: I booked a room with a hotel called "Hotel Torres del Mar" via booking.com. Upon confirmation, I notice that almost all reviews show that the hotel has been trapping tourists using deceptive pictures. I immediately raised my concerns over this to the hotel but instead of answering my question, the hotel immediately took my money from the credit card I saved, and came back to me with a delayed response telling me that tourists who posted the reviews misunderstood general pictures for the rooms. I have checked other portals such as Expedia and Google Map, and I am pretty sure that reviews on all these different platforms have been pointing out the same thing that the hotel is using fake pictures, among its many other problems in aspects of sanitation, security, rudeness, electric wires exposure on the shower, and trying to scam the tourists for money. All these comments are well-written by authentic real users from worldwide. In order to avoid further risks and unpleasantness, I requested the hotel to cancel my booking and refund the amount of money they have just took a few minutes ago (it is still 4 days before check-in). But the hotel replied with again a delayed response saying that I have missed the 1 hour cancellation period (which is unreasonably short anyway), and they refuse to communicate with me, telling me to contact booking.com. I contacted booking.com but was only replied with my request for cancellation denied, and they cannot do anything about this. By the time, 20 hours have passed since I proposed my request. I feel the hotel is only intentionally delaying everything so that cancellation would be less possible. This behavior only strengthened my impression that the hotel is trying to fish tourists and rob them. I actually already feel unsafe if I would have to stay there. I am only left with the option between staying with the trapping hotel which I do not trust, or giving up to its deceptive and bully behavior by feeding them with the $165 they have taken for the reservation. I understand the reservation rule is to protect the guests to secure a room, but this hotel is obviously making misuse of such mechanism. Moreover, I would like to question the rules of booking.com, which says it cannot do anything in this incident given all above facts that prove this is a scam. I feel the website is not protecting the vulnerable consumers but only the interests of hotels, even obviously dishonest hotels. Although reviews accumulated for many years all display that the hotel has been deceiving and mistreating its consumers. I feel been forced to walk into such a trap even though I have already discovered immediately after the booking, and communicated with all these different parties. While booking.com only acts to protect and support the fraud and robbing of its hotel users by replying to consumers that there is nothing it can do. Note that pictures serve as the most important information source for making decisions in an Internet business like this, and booking.com has been ignoring the complaints over deceptive pictures for many years. When incidents happen, it does not do anything to help the consumer but comply with the hotel, despite that the website is aware of what is the essence of this incident.

I find there is no way to complain about such unfairness and make things right.

                                        I would like booking.com to cancel my reservation with full refund, and fix the deceptive pictures, and give an honest description and rating of the hotel (and make the information obvious) so that there will be no other victims in the future. It could perhaps also review its measurements and procedures to protect consumers against such trapping hotels.

                                          I was booking a room from booking.com online website. The hotel name is Madhyamgram guest house. Yesterday a person who call me and told that booking is confirmed. But he call me again today at 8.25 am. I call him back . He said that pay this amount(297rs) through phone pay . The phone pay number is [protected]. Latter he told me again 100rs pay in phone pay for Gst. When i pay 297rs in phone pay . Then he blocked in WhatsApp. At that time i realized he is fraud . After that he did not receive my call . He did not refund my money.

                                            I have booked a hotel via booking.com on 30th september, 2017. I have cancelled the booking immediately(with in few minutes).But, I have not been given the refund. I have tried disputing the transaction with the SBI card which I used to transact this. I have raised this issue directly with booking.com. But no luck.

                                                I had booked room at capital O king suites hebbal, Bangalore for today (02/02/2020) & had got confirmation number [protected] from booking.com but room was denied telling they don't take bookings from booking.com site.secondly their staff behavior is very rude.kindly remove this property from booking.com for the convenience of others.

                                                  I booked a dbl room at the green valley resort, kaddukhal through booking.com on 17.10.19 under ref no.[protected] (Vjoshi.[protected]@guest. Booking.com for 3nts from 29th oct to 1st nov. The moment i wanted to desposit money with booking.com i got a call from one binay sharma claiming of the hotel to deposit immediate 4500 rs with him to avoid cancellation... Tried to contact u people but of no avail, so deposited in his account the money to avoid any cancellation. Shocked to see how come hotel came to know when i am using your site to book my accommodation... Strange very strange i felt.
                                                  He promised so many things but all were bogus and not upto the stndrds to what i paid. No proper breakfast/room filthy and bathroom stinking/poor atmosphere/no official available to talk... No light/ no water available, only when we request for... So i suppose the kind of service i got and finally availed the room is only worth of 800-1000 rs.
                                                  So not only i wana my money back but atleast booking.com should visit this place, horrible place to recommend it to people for couple of rupees commission dnt pl play with the sentiments of customers who spent money to stay at such places.
                                                  Only one person ramesh is available for everything.. He is manager/receptionist/room boy/electrician/cleaning man/ and provide room service, brings water no other fellow is there to help or assist the guest.
                                                  This hotel or resort they call themselves is not i repeat not at all fit for taking or receiving the guest.
                                                  All hotel booking sites who are paternising this
                                                  Green valley resort at kaddukhal, uttarakhand should stop selling this dirty stinking washroom

                                                    I booked xavier house gr floor, from booking.com for 30 december to 1st january at rs. 6000. It was confirmed. I received a mail from booking.com site.

                                                    But after a week when i tried to pay the amount to booking.com, at that time it didn't allow me to make payment. That's why i called to xavier house gr floor, goa for inquiry but they replied my booking is not confirmed. I show them my pdf file of confirmation but still they denied. Then after i called to customer service executive of booking.com, and explained my problem but they also didn't help me... And told me to cancel my booking from site and again apply with new rate which is around rs. 20000...

                                                    If that hotel is already at rs. 6000 and they confirmed it then why should i pay higher rate for it???

                                                      Hi http://Booking.Com, i have made my booking approximately 15-20 days back and i was asked to ensure booking i have to update my card details to confirm booking... And booking was done and confirmed too... I had booked the place for 6-7 july 2019... 2-3 days back i updated the arrival time and also sent a text just to confirm i will get what ever was promised one the booking... As we had planned things accordingly... And this morning as left from work i opened the app to share details to my friend who were traveling by self to the property... I discovered that my booking has been cancelled by the property stating that they can do any thing and a number was given to contact... I did call on the given number... And spoke to care taker around 5:00 in the morning... He said that they can not take are booking and i need to look for an alternative... Last minute cancellation i have half the ppl on the way and and half leaving... We had book a vehicle to reach the destination.. Did shopping as we had planned to cook by self and now all is wasted... You are a booking website and know that getting last minute booking is so difficult and expensive too... I request the property guy to make some arrangements he said that he can’t do any thing we need to contact you as i have booked the property from you guys... He has nothing to do with it... It’s website lookout... I tried calling calling ur customer support too but the wait time is too long... Some how i managed to connect to you guys over the phone and i explained my situation to one of you representative he said that he will contact the property... After some time being on hold he came back and informed that the property guys is not answering and his phone is switched off... He said that he will look for a replacement... And any extra charges will be bare by http://Booking.com.

                                                      Well after the incident i have asked all my friend to go back as we had no place to go...

                                                      I am requesting you to get me some arrangements for next week and it’s... It’s been an inconvenience to all 18 members who were ready for fun and excitement and it’s all crushed cause of this last minute cancellation... I am sorry to say but it’s berry disappointing...

                                                      Hope you will u understand and do the need full..

                                                      We had already spent for vehicle and purchasing groceries...

                                                      Looking for a resolution with some compensation or discount...

                                                      I really appreciate that you have looked for a different option... but let me explain you the situation again ... my teams work in the night shift and I we all carried out required luggage to he office and let office at 4:30 and had requested a arrival time as 7:00-800 am at the booked location... half of my team was at the station to take train to the boomed location and for others we have booked a cab as we had other food items and grocery that We was suppose to carry... Morning 5:30 I checked the message sent by the villa that they can have our booking and call on the given number... I called the number and explained by situation... and he directly asked me to contact u guys... I was continuously trying to get in touch with your team over the phone but I was on hold for quite some time and then the call dropped and tried again and was on hold for about 10 minutes and then again the call dropped... I was able to speak so some one on 3-4 attempt after waiting on hold of about 15 minutes and I guess that was around 6:00... if you could have given me option even at that time I would have asked and be in position to go and reach the detonation which is about approximately 100 km from Mumbai... I had no choice but tell ppl to go back home as we had no place it was raining and no place to wait back... I did explain this to the person over the phone as well he did said that he will look for relocation and will get the adjustments done for next weekend Saturday or Sunday. As I did not get any reply I had to post message on the app and also I posted this on Twitter and face book and now ur sending me text that you have an alternative.. but it is of no good for ur... I would request you to get me booking for next week as it’s not mistake I trusted you mr website and booked the place and added my card details just to ensure that we have the booking confirmed and in last minutes the booking was cancelled.. the option you have given is not good for me and my team..

                                                      I am requesting you to get me booking for next week with the same budget and some discount over that... it’s v disappointing... if you are unable to help me on this I will have to escalate this matter which I would do for sure... also I will post this on social media os that people know about this...
