CMWSSB have been dodging the issue of new continuous card since April, 2020.The old card got exhausted in March 2020 itself and there was no space for further entries. However, the tax collection centres are collecting the water tax without entries on the Tax card.YET, , Tax Receipts are issued duly stamped but without the signature of the official at the cash counter. It is suspected that the concerned dept;has deliberately been postponing the release of the new cards. This arouses suspicion over the intention of the dept; One will doubt whether they are playing a foul game on the tax -payers.The higher authorities of the dept.and the concerned minister should look into the matter immediately and expose their real intention .They should take speedy actions for releasing the new cards. Will they?

I paid the water tax for the months of February and March, 2020 on 21.09.20 and I enquired the tax collector at the centre on First Avenue, Ashok Nagar, Chennai-83 about the tax arrears to be paid.He said that there was no further tax arrears and the Govt.had not notified the dues.I checked the status online immediately after returning home and found there was no arrears of tax after Mar, 2020.I presumed that the water tax could have been waived till the Assembly polls. And, I used to refer to the status online frequently to find that the tax arrears were NIL.Till last month, my online reference showed no arrears of tax.
Today, I referred to the online status, but to my dismay, I FOUND a sizable amount as tax arrears from April, 2020, including the surcharge.upto December, 2020.It is highly ridiculous. It shows the tendency of the state Govt.to fool the public in many ways. How, all of a sudden, tax arrears pop up in the account? It shows the mismanagement of the CMWSSB and the concerned officials should be held responsible for giving wrong infos.to the tax-payers.They should be suitably penalised. Will the concerned Minister look into the matter?

I live in No: 36, 21st street, GKM Colony, CH-82 which falls under 67th ward of Chennai. At my house entrance we have a sewage manhole which is overflowing continuously for last 20 days. We have complained so many times and local corporation employees are helping us out by cleaning it on all weekdays, but then the very same day evening it starts overflowing again and due to this our place has become so nasty and smells very bad. We have kids and elders at home who are at risk of getting infected. We are facing this problem for more than 10 years and no permanent solution was provided to us. In recent times, due to water pressure, even the outlets inside the house started overflowing due to which we are unable to even breath as the odour is very bad and infectious. We kindly request you to check and provide a permanent solution for this problem.

The TN Govt.on one hand urges the people to remain indoors, but on the other hand, it is very particular about the collection of all types of taxes due to it, which is atrocious.Every one is in a grip.of fear about the scare of the deadly virus, without moving out home to stay safe and secured. In such abysmal circumstances, how one can go out to pay the taxes? All donot have online facilities and it is also the duty of the Govt.to consider the unfavourable situations for the general public. It should act gracefully towards the public. The Govt.is in the habit of releasing funds in lakhs and crores as compensation to the families of victims who lost their lives in unforeseen circumstances.Whose money they are paying in such large figures? All is tax- payers' money and the Govt.should be considerate
in relaxing the burden of the tax payers. It is not fair on the part of the Govt. in taxing the tax payers. The Govt.should waive water - tax and the penalty imposed on default amount.

The tax collecting staff at the tax collection centre on 1 st avenue, ashok nagar, chennai-83 for area 10, district 132 very often refuses to receive the taxes due, for unknown reasons. She is naive to her position and does not know the procedures for tax collection. She is a teenaged girl with little experiences. She directs the tax payers to pay the tax in the ensuing month
And adds penalty when the tax is paid in the subsequent month. This seems to be an unhealthy and tricky practice by the cmwssb, it seems to garner additional revenue to the corporation, that is ridiculous. The fact is brought to the knowledge of the concerned official, but remains futile. The department should arrange for hassle - free tax payments but the officials are sluggish. The board should take note of this complaint and do what is needed for a smooth transaction, transferring the present staff and replacing with a good, knowledgeable person, easing the tax payments.

Two sintex water tanks were installed about 8to 10 years at time of shortage of water supply in our Jai balaji nagar,in div 128 of the Chennai corporation .I area is a posh area with a lot of posh bungalows and Vip houses. Each and every house has got water pipeline connection .in addition there are well and bore wells for there use .Hence practically the water supply is not useful for the residents of that area.In this situation the CMWSSB has been supplying water to the provided tanks .The contract lotty driver makes a good money by selling the intended water for those tanks ,since the tanks is always full since there is no useage .The water is used by nearby commercial shops and hotels .No action is taken by the dept inspite of the registration of conmplaint thru internet and phone
