Hi team,

I usually park my bike at a place before parrys corner police station. Before it wasn't a no parking zone. I haven't seen that it has been changed. Cops took my bike and when asked they asked me to pay fine for which i've agreed. But they've asked me to pay 200 and leave for which i said that i would need a challan or a boil for my payment. Upon making me wait for 45 minutes the cop named v. Ganesan called another cop to which he arrived and asked for my bike insurance, rc and my licence. Everything seemed perfect. He took my licence and charged me 260 which was not actually. When questioed for overcharging he started to shout at me to which i politely moved.
Government asks us not to bribe but govt officials asks us to bribe. If someone can provide me a solution i can even file a complaint on this. I have the challan copy and the picture of where my bike was parked.
Requesting your support.
I was wearing helmet and 2 police was stopped me and check my documents all was cleared then they sended me then y they fine me 100rs cheaters we are not getting money in tree we are hardworking and earning a single rupee

      Chennai traffic police, chennai.

      Sir

I bring to your knowledge an issue o[censored]tmost importance which involves the safety of the general public in vadapalani area on all the days of the year.

At present, there is no proper arrangement for the pedestrians to cross the arcot road (Nsk salai) near vijaya hospital / forum vijaya mall in vadapalani. On an average about 5 to10 people cross @ this point once in every 4 to 6 min. People are compelled to use a small gap in the median with a haphazard bump in the middle. Users include patients, ladies, senior citizens & also children. While people are crossing, some of the drivers of 4 & 2 wheelers (In particular) do not pay any care for the pedestrians. A few of them even try to exhibit their heroism by raising the accelerator of the vehicles causing panic.

Hence, i request you to pl arrange to regularize this in a safe manner.in this regard, i suggest the following.
      1. Provision of crossing with an automatic signal.
      2. Provision of speed breakers with zebra crossing.
      3. Punishing those who violate the traffic rules (As only this will result in enforcement of discipline / law).
      4. Traffic to be regulated/controlled by manned police. I may not prefer this as this involves strain on a human being, who has to spend time under sun / rain with his own safety involved.

I only wish due to this complaint the authorities should not close the median since a crossing point close to hospital / mall is a must as otherwise it may lead to more dangerous consequences. I shall be thankful if you pl initiate action at the very earliest.

      Yours warmly,
      K. Govindaraju

            Sir,
For the past 2 days, traffic in greams road towards anna salai is moving in snail's pace because entry to anna salai has been made more narrow by additional barricades allowing only one vehicle at a time. Hence, vehicles get piled up till the other end of greams road. Everyday, we have to reach office late due to this extra barricades.
Please restore normal entry to anna salai and help us.
            Thank you

I have recently shifted to chennai. I have stayed in many cities earlier for eg. Mumbai, pune, panjim. This is for the first time in my life i saw traffic police asking all the vehicle drivers to drive fast than the normal speed (When we were already driving at speed of 60-70 km/hr) when i went to adyar cancer institute’s entrance a huge number of cancer patients and their families were kept waiting on entrance by chennai traffic police. I was so stunned to see that as a result of which i dint enter the institute as there was no space. The police inspector came and started banging on my door and started shouting. He literally banged my door with his fist thrice. Then i saw some ministers car passing by. This was the first time when i actually saw traffic police working otherwise i travel through the same route daily. It’s so lame to keep patients waiting just because of a minister!! Tamil nadu police it’s high time you learn manners!

The duration of signal for traffic going from Eldams road to CP Ramasamy Road is very short and many times only few cars are able to pass before it turns red.

Also the vehicles from Ttk road to Eldams Road are usually standing well beyond the stop line and blocking the entrance to CP Ramaswamy road.. This causes a daily jam at that point and unnecessary delays.

Pl extend the duration of the signal and place a policeman to regulate atleast during peak hours.

This happened near saravana bhavan, alandur traffic signal from mkn road to chennai trichy highway at around 5.05 pm on 30-12-17.

I was riding back after an event at my work when a cop pulled me over for document verification. I had all the necessary documents. My license is from kerala. After checking the documents, he said the vehicle was not in my name (It was in my uncle's name who is a resident of chennai) and was saying mine was an other state license and riding someone else's bike so had to pay fine. I said the license is acceptable on an all india level why he was asking me to pay fine. He said i was to change the vehicle i was riding to my name (Ownership). After explaining to him much about the bike being my uncle's he was not ready to let go, even though i had produced all documents. He said to pay a fine of 800. I refused. He asked to get it from atm. I said i don't have that money and i can't pay. He made me wait a lot and then he said fine of 200. I paid the amount but the officer was not giving me receipt. When i asked for receipt he said he would give it at 800 and then tow away my bike. I had to give in at last to his taunts. I ended up paying 200 for no goddamn mistake of mine. Is it an offence to drive your friends or relations bike?. Damn these cops.

I live in the kk nagar area and the recently erected bike tracks are being used to park vehicles. Apart from that, the one way road is being accessed by both sides leading to an exceptional slow movement of traffic during office hours. Please enforce the use of biking lanes for its stated purpose and enforce the one way roads and it is exceedingly irksome to see the bikes and cars driving on the wrong side.

I am a student. I was driving a two wheeler when a police caught me.
The incident was " i was in a hurry to drop my friend to chennai central railway station, i was about to go in way where only mtc busses are allowed and at that time a traffic police called me. So i stopped and went near him. He said me to see the board that only mtc busses are allowed, then instead of leaving me he asked for all the details of mine and when he found all the details to be correct he threatened me to put me in a case of breaking the law and charge a fine of 1500rs (While i din't break any law). After few moments when i argued that i din't break the law then he threatened me to put some more cases on me. When i became silent, he asked me to pay as much as i can. Finally he took 100rs from me and left me. While leaving i noted his vehicle number.
Vehicle registeration number is: tn 18 1099.

Sir, I am a resident of multi-storeyed residential building Coromandel Towers. I move in and out of the building on various errands and return using Chetpat Bridge to reach the Poonamalle High Road, new name Periyar EVR Salai. Traffic flows constantly from Pachiappa College and other and cross Ega theatre at a good speed. We residing in the building have to be cautious to cross into left-side of the road to get into the building and we find it very risky. MTC buses, trucks and mini vans and cars and autos and two wheelers zip by. Worse is two wheelers and autos come from Kilpauk Hospital New Hope Hospital, though it is one way. At times traffic vehicle is seen parked but this danger persists.
Metro people have put a divider which further restricts movements of vehicles and in fact helps autos and two wheelers to come in the opposite direction.
Prayer is to traffic light may be lit up to allow vehicles taking a right turn more especially people like me living in residence after Indian Bank.
I feel it would be great help.

I was riding my bike, which is of karnataka registration, along with my friend, on the connecting road from ecr to sholinganallur junction named dr kalaignar karunanidhi salai. (Note. Both o[censored]s wearing helmets.)

I was stopped by 2 traffic police named n. Krishnan, and t. Balamurugan, literally pounced in front of my vehicle to stop and asked for my documents.

I showed the license, registration certificate which is in my brother's name, and the insurance and then they asked me about noc. (Non obstruction complaint as per the police officer n. Krishnan who has an experience of 33 years in the police department).

Since i doesn't know tamil, they talked with my friend the whole time who was pleading them to leave. I sensed that they were talking very harsh with him in tamil. They told us that we have to pay a fine of rs.3500 for not having noc. And that too the bike will be taken to the police station and that the owner of the bike (My brother) should come and pay fine and collect the bike.

Then after some pleading, he demanded nothing less than rs.1500. I told them that i have only rs.450 in my wallet. But they refused to take it and they asked us to go to the nearest atm and get the cash.

My complaint is about the money i paid. It went straight into their pockets.
Which is equivalent to paying bribe. (Which i dont want to) when asked about a receipt for the money i paid, they spoke very harsh to my friend in tamil, that the bike will be taken to the police station and kept there for 3 months then you will come to know...

I urge you to take action on the above mentioned officers, who are corrupt, on bribery and harassment

                                      Regards,
                                      Raj

We are residing in the gurushev street of satyamurthy block, jafferkhan pet. There are some fast track driver tenants who lark their cars abruptly in every corner of the road which prevents the school van and tucs lorry to take turns. Added to this ration shop area is filled with mixture machines and tractors which they starts by 10 in the night creating sound pollution for the nearbys. Kindly put some no parking boards or tow the vehicles without any mercy. There is a transformer in this area which these local residents are using to dump wastes. On complaining to corporation officer he cudnt bring his lorry to clear the wastes because of this travels and mixture machines. Dont these fast track people have no money to buy and park their cars? Dont show any mercy to them. Illegal activities such as drinking, prostitution, drugs are happening here in the shades of all these vehicles after 6 soon the ration shop got shut. Kindly do something to clear all these vehicles we need our road back.

I never did any traffic violation, and As I am not a tamil speaking guy he says Rs.2500. Then I told him that I am not having money even in ATM. Then He asked me Rs.1000, Then Rs.500 Finally I was ready to pay only Rs.100. He accepted without bill and I was highly disturbed as it is like vegetable market negotiation. after coming to office, I checked penaulties online and shocked to see most of the penaulties are not more than Rs.100 for first offence. Please punish these blood suckers. and make rule that every traffice police Van should carry penautly card and then all fines will reach government. Please take action sir. Police job has become collection. And I feel very bad to defame indian police like this. Thanks.

I hope you are aware that signal near Ambica empire hotel in 100 ft road in Vadapalani is not working for nearly one week You are well aware it is an important signal and the vehicles are racing in high speed in 100ft road and we have to cross the road risking our lives. Lot of pedastrians, 2 wheelers, 3 and 4 wheelers cross this place heading to Saligramam and no action taken by you to rectify it. do you take action only if some accidents occur in the area?/ Everyday many of your officers and AC pass the area without caring to take action. We did request them not to block the passage, however, they response we received from them stating that they will park the vehicle in the lane as per their convenient and their response is so rude and creating problems. This causes unpleasant situation and we are having difficulty in parking the cars inside the parking lot. Regarding this, i would like to raise an formal complaint. Traffic Police — No sign board

                                                            Hi all,

I am belongs to chennai. Yesterday, I came from arcot road and took left at vadapalani to reach koyambedu. Suddenly two traffic polices stopped my bike. I have shown Driving license and bike insurance. They said, "NO FREE LEFT" here, so you have to pay Rs 1500 /- .But there was no sign board saying "NO FREE LEFT". I argued them, they took Rs 200/- and gave fine receipt of Rs 50/-.

I felt bad about traffic police in tamil nadu

beware ...this could happen to anyone...

                                                            regards,

This has become a regular activity by the Chennai traffic police especially the traffic police in Anna Nagar tie up with local thugs who act as a parking fee collector and threaten the public by collecting the fee but not giving the receipt. The police then arrive there and collect a fine for parking in a non parking area. No complain could be launched against neither the fee collectors nor the traffic police because both have joined hands to involve into criminal activities. I could not understand, when public is aware of this why the police department is not aware of these criminal activities carried out by there own department people
