I booked a tour package from Pluto tours and travels based in Shimla. Today is our 1st day, we had decided we would do payments in installments but now they are asking upfront payment. These people are threatening us also after 50% payment they are not sharing hotel booking proofs . Please help!

This complaint is regarding the fraudulent and cheating service provided by shop no: 202 at manali for taking solang valley package.

I am shamini from chennai and been on a trip to himachal pradesh with my husband, manoj. On 18/12/2019,
I took solang valley package for rs 7500 for 2 persons from shop no: 202 which includes transport from the shop to solang valley using gipsy vehicle and all snow activities that were shown in the pamphlet at the shop. We paid the total amount using credit card before taking the service.

We reached solang valley and after taking two snow activities (Zipline and snow tube), the person accompanied us asked to pay for every other snow activity. We informed him that we have already paid amount for taking all snow activities at solang valley but he denied saying that the shop owner didn’t inform him about the package. We tried calling the shop owner but he didn’t pick up the call.

When we checked each ride at solang, it costs not more than rs.250 for zipline, rs.100 for tube and not more than rs.200 for other activities.
On whole 2 persons can enjoy all the snow activities in not more than rs 2000 but we have paid a sum of rs.7500 for 2 persons
Still we were asked to pay for every other snow activity.

We tried calling police by dialling 100 but police wants more information about the shop and the owner details which left us with no choice to seek anyone's help at solang valley.

With complete stress and disappointment being a himachal tourist, didn’t take up any other activity at solang except zipline
And snow tube (Since we didn’t take up any hard cash with us and as we paid the total package cost in prior), we returned to the shop and complained him about his cheating service. He denies saying that the package is only for few snow activities and not for all. We then requested to refund the amount paid because we didn’t accept the package
Only for two activites but he denied refunding too.
When we proceed to complaining about his cheating service to police, he dejected us and informed us that police cannot take any action on local people.

We filed a complaint at manali police station on 18/12/2019 on the shop owner's cheating and fraudulent service.
Upon further checking by police, we came to know the shop owner arranged gipsy which is legally not allowed to go to solang valley (The gipsy driver took us in a different route to avoid the police patrol on the way to solang valley) and police fined the gipsy driver and enquired the shop owner

Police has finally registered the complaint under 'general diary details' g. D number : 50 dated[protected] at 18.17 hrs by sub-inspector vijay kumar and finally asked us to proceed further complaining to tourism department for further action

Even after police tried compromising both o[censored]s, the shop owner denied accepting to refund the amount paid by us

Because of their cheating service my total day was lost. We planned one day trip to manali by visiting in and around places to manali by booking a taxi for the day.
But finally we were in the police station for half a day until 8. Pm. We lost our trip plan, amount paid to taxi driver to take us to places
Also lost rs 7500 which we paid to shop no: 202. Moreover we lost our dream of spending time at the most beautiful place.

Tourists like us and foreigners rely on tourism department for visiting himachal but people like shop owner 202 giving a wrong image about himachal tourism.
Not sure whether all the shop owners cheat customers in the same way. Every shop owner fix one or the other rate to visit solang valley.
Government should definitely intervene in such activities and stop cheating tourists from these fraudulent shop owners in looting our money.

We came to enjoy the beauty of manali but faced a very worst experience being there. Though we planned to complain to tourism department at manali the very next day, but we left manali on 19/12/2019 early morning out of fear because the locals are threatening and checking our cab driver where we stayed

So i request you to take severe action against the shop owner 202 and request you to refund our paid money to shop owner.
