A lane inside bhawanipur, i took left turn
There was no proper 'no entry' board was put up there. Even after informing that we are new in that road and the no entry board was put on a lap post which was behind a tree in foot path.
They have fined us rs 300 and haven co operated with us.
They were even hiding behind a truck so that no one notice them.
Is this the work of police or traffic guard.
Instead of helping people they are there to give fines where as no proper board was there.
It is a request plz look after this matter, they are just asking for fines instead of doing their duty properly.
If this things are ingnored they will go on behaving in this inhumnan manner.

Myself bibaswan bhowmik, a citizen of india under kolkata jurisdiction. On 26/06/2019 (Wednesday) i was riding my scooty (Wb 20az 0613) with proper dress and riding accessories (Wearing helmet, shoes, full trousers - which can be checked on the cctv camera footage) towards my home in front of kalighat police station. I was stopped there asking for documents checking. The respective officer present there asked me to show my two wheeler insurance policy, pollution certificate and driving license.
I showed him the online certificate of my vehicle insurance (Print out copy), pollution under control certificate (Original copy) and my driving licence (Digilocker approved). The officer refused to accept the digilocker licence and impounded a case on me. I even showed him centres letter to states on digilocker where it is clearly stated that documents issued / pushed by various departments / organisations in digilocker system shall be deemed to be at par with original physical documents, and there after written that digilocker is to promote the vision of paperless governance, thus enabling any citizen to produce requisite documents any time anywhere in legally acceptable electronic form. And later on letter of ministry of road transport and highways (Subject: acceptance of driving licence, registration certificate or other documents presented through digilocker or mparivahan platform - reg), where at point number 5 it is clearly stated that it is requested to consider the documents available in the 'electronic form' in the digilocker platform or the mparivahan mobile app as valid under morot vehicles act 1988 and be treated at par with the certificates issued by the transport authorities.
But still then the respective officer refused to accept the digilocker documents and impounded a case on me, seized my vehicle smart card and handed over to me a seizure list.
Sir, it is my humble request to you to take necessary steps in solving my problem.

Today at around 0130pm i availed a yellow taxi from uttam kumar metro station to travel to no 1 gate of kolkata airport. On reaching my destination i found to my dismay the fare displayed in the taxi meter was rs 618/- against a distance of 42.5 kms against the normal fare of approximately rs 420/- for a distance of 27kms. The taxi driver refused to provide me with a receipt of the fare stating that the printer was out of order. It is obvious that the meter is heavily manipulated and i request your good office to take necessary action to ensure no other passengers are cheated, with immediate effect. I was exiting a lane (Basantlal murarka road) to cross the abovementioned road (Mg road). There is another lane on the opposite side of the main road (Pageyaputty) where i wanted to go. Owing to the buses on the main road, both lanes have ropes tied for pedestrian safety, which are removed only when it is safe to cross the road. This is managed by sergeants and their co-officers.

Yesterday at the aforementioned time there were a lot of people standing beside me waiting to cross the road. I saw that a lot of people were crossing the road by dodging the rope. It was an emergency so i too removed that rope and began to cross the road. The officer stopped me by holding my shirt by the collar and pushed me behind the rope. This greatly angered me, but i still kept my cool and started moving along the rope, while staying behind it.

The officer kept following me and elbowing me in, although i never tried to cross the rope a second time. When the rope was removed for all to cross, i crossed the road and went towards my shop in the opposite lane.

I wanted to take action against this misbehavior, so i returned to take a picture of the officer. When he saw me taking a picture, he became absolutely furious.
He began to hit me, which prompted a few officers to come, they held me and began to hit me with lathis. They literally held me up and hit me relentlessly, although i was within my rights to do what i did. They kept hurling abuses at me. They snatched my phone and tried to delete the picture. They said things like, "aaj toh tera gaand faadega". They did not give me a chance to explain myself. They dragged me to the strand road booth. My shop staff which had seen the entire commotion informed my father, who came to the booth and spoke to the officers in a calm manner and took me away.

In the entire episode, i did not violate any rule whatsoever. I did not deserve this unfair treatment and am completely shaken. I do accept my fault of trying to cross the road in the first place, but when the officer stopped me, i had obeyed.

I should not have been treated so badly just because i wanted to take a picture to take action against the officer.

This is a case of police brutality and absolute misuse of power. Serious action must be taken against such officers.

We live in a democracy and not a dictatorship.

I've truly lost faith in the department. If things like these keep happening, innocent citizens will keep suffering. It's a disgrace.

Please take appropriate and swift action against the officers involved.

Every year i am getting traffic violation cases in kolkata, but my vehicle is not in kolkata since 2015, then how is it possible to get traffic violation case.

While acknowledging receipt of your sms regarding alleged traffic signal violation, i have to bring to your kind notice, that my car no wb20u2240, is at present out of west bengal along with me and there is no question of my car violating any traffic signals in kolkata. It is apprehended that some mistake has been made in taking down the number of the vehicle that has committed the traffic violation. I would like to suggest that the colour of the vehicle be matched against the offending vehicle and that of my vehicle. I shall be obliged if i am relieved of the charges and necessary rectification be made.

About above incident yesterday i was going through bt road and cross sish garden signal the traffic police stop my bike on road and pull out my bike key with misbavely and he told me to give my driving licences now. After that i show my driving licences to officer, he punished me in wrong section (184/184 mva) and fine me rs 2000.
I request to correct the section and decrease my fine amount.

I was charged with spot fine of rs. 100/- (Case no: ae[protected] yesterday for red light jumping on 8th oct 2018. I clearly discussed and conveyed to the duty officer that there was no signal where i was fined and the field police person was not visible at the corner without any red/green coloured signal light in his hand.
As per his statement he had waived hand to stop me and he was not visible so i didn't stop. I asked the field officer for video recording of the signal jumping. Bus his statement was simply i need to pay the spot fine which is total unjust and when i argued, they tried to terrify me that i have no right to ask them, if i argue more they will put me behind the bar. Being a responsible citizen, i request you to look into this matter and ask for more clarity causing no future harassment to citizens.

I have received an sms dated 08.08.2018 from team ktp against my car no. Wb02aa-6599 of 3 traffic violation incidents. The details of the incidents as depicted in the website kolkatatrafficpolice.net are in short as follows:

1. Case no. Hhpc087000/14; case date: 11-jul-2014; amount: rs. 100/=
2. Case no. Ww pc066664/14; case date: 04-jul-2014; amount: rs. 100/=
3. Case no. Xxpc039140/14; case date: 01-jul-2014; amount: rs. 100/=.

It is to be noted that all the incidents are of july, 2014 for which i am being sent sms on 08.08.2018, i. E. After 4 years. To the best of my understanding it seems to be an inadvertent technical error.
I request the appropriate authority to rectify the fault and confirm me.

Just immagine the amount of money these corrupt public servants are making by extorting the citizens.
In earlier cases i made payments even knowing that i have never ever been to those areas but since the case dates were several years back i was not sure.

But this time it is caught red handed.
I spoke to the traffic control room, they won't help, keep passing the buck and told me to complain to dc traffic through emai, which i have did.

But i want justice and and end to this corruption. Please help.

Yesterday i received a sms that my car bearing no. Wb 06g1839 was running at 73 km/hr though my car was running at 45 km/hr only over ajc bose flyover. I have minutely noted that the speed of my car was 45km/hr. Only. Furthermore i have observed that a tata sumo was running at very high speed, perhaps that could not be recorded by the police càmera. It is requested to recheck and withdraw the fàlse case against my car.

A central line violation was noticed for my vehicle no wb02al9614 at park street kolkata at 10:39am on 28th march 2018. Such a violation is not even possible because park street is a one way road during the whole day, so what do you even mean by a central line violation on a one-way road. I have received a sms through my cell phone that my car bearing regn. No. Wb 20 h 9221 has been prosecuted for the violation of 'no u turn' signal at the sarat bose road / tilak road at 1625 hours on 10/09/2017, vide case no hhpc116590/17.
Sir on that day at that time, i was coming from rasbehari avenue/ kalighat and took a right turn at the signal towards monohar pukur road to go to mahanayak uttam mancha to attend a program organized by famochi, a scouter's association, where the guests were honorable ministers, dr. Sashi panja, sri sovan dev chattopadhyaya, district session judge of bangladesh jb. A. S. M jahurul islam etc. The program was particularly for the disabled persons of our society.
Eventually one mentally retarded child and the district session judge of bangladesh jb. A. S. M jahurul islam were in my car on that time. So, after getting the right turn signal, i had turned towards monohar pukur road for uttam mancha, being guided by the on duty police officials and the volunteers of that organization and parked my car at the stipulated car parking area after getting them down at uttam mancha. I never took u turn towards kalighat/ rashbehari again on that time.
The on duty police officials, organizers; volunteers and finally the district session judge of bangladesh might stand in my support.
So, i would like to request that please check the cc tv footage thoroughly and carefully again before imposing any case and avoid any confusion and dis-honor mentality to law among the common people, so that the punishment against my car may be successfully solved, from you end.

Around 5pm in the burrabazar area where the Howrah bridge ends, opposite side of north port traffic guard, homeguards asked me to show papers for nothing in a very congested area where strand road and burrbazar is meeting. he told me to have a word with Mr. Borobabu( SOMENATH PRAMANICK ) as i told him without showing papers that only the pollution certificate period has expired yesterday and everything other papers are just fine.
Mr. somenath paramanick who was about to examine authenticity of my papers,
asked me to pay 200rupees without a receipt which was clearly not legal. i requested my best for about 15minutes to convince him that this 200rupees is a lot for me and i refused to pay like that.
after everything i got a very rough behaviour from this gentleman, he added, ''opor theke chaap achhe'', which means he was fulfilling his quota as a traffic sergeant.
i requested again and again for forgiveness atleast on the ground of humanity, and this time he took my driving license and seize it for some 400rupees which was not mentioned on the seizure receipt on the basis of RECKLESS DRIVING i guess which is simply a matter of dissapointment. As a matter of fact i was on a motorbike with a speed of 10-15km/hour because it was so busy road. Actualy i cannot read the seizure receipt because of a very poor handwriting and i guess it should be against reckless driving.
in this situation i want to lodge a complain against Mr. SOMENATH PRAMANICK because he asked me to sign a paper and after doing that he threatened me ''AAPNAR JA KORAR ACHHE APNI KORE NEBEN'', as i asked him for an explanation why he was seizing my driving license where i have no issue with driving nor he accused me for any faults against driving faults.
I want some serious steps against this shameful BULLY activity from a lawman and a sergeant.

Its about the goons in uniform who call themselves traffic police. Every goddamn officer and sergeant is the same. They lick the boots of the locals in fear and the VIPs' due to the state of inferiority. They spout nonsense in bengali and are always about to physically hit anyone. I am new here and am very disappointed in seeing them work.

Hi All, I am Mr Umesh Kumar Das, was travelling smoothly with my wife to office. There was heavy traffic in the fly over on the chingrighata more so we choose to take the main road, we were not aware whether there is no right turn after the main signal of Chingrighata. So I slowed my car, very politely asked the police who was posted there, whether there is there is right turn or not, but not sure why suddenly the same police officer started...

I took a taxi (number. WB04C8594) from ultodanga to go to the passport office at ruby-cosba connector on 25th june, 2012, at 12.05pm. after a few minutes in the taxi i noticed that the meter was going up at an unusually fast rate, when i asked him, he gave a really vague and nonsense reply. when i got down at Ruby connector, the driver asked me to pay Rs.160!! i was like, what the ****!! the distance from ruby to ultadanga is barely 12km (you can check on the google map, it says 11.5km) and the actual fare for that distance should hardly be not more than 70bucks!

i have been feeling cheated and robbed the whole day and i want that driver to be punished and not only him, but all the kolkata cab drivers with tampered taxi meters.
