That company fellow has sent the VPP without being ordered I jus want to know that where is that company and contact details. If anyone knows about it just let me know

We too registered the company recently and received VPP for 2090. Luckily I was at office and refuse to accept the same.

When I tried to find the companies contact to check on this but there is nothing I could get from the net.

Guess they are targetting newly registered companies for this kind of fraud. The concerned should look in to it seriously and stop the source from where they are obtaining the addresses.

Courier Cheats!!!

Beware of FRAUDS or getting CHEATED by the Mega book Company at delhi.
Im lucky to escape the fraud as i was out of station, received a VPP slip from the Postal department was happy to see that i have received something in the name of newly formed ALPAULS ENGINEERS PVT. LTD. company . on inquiring i was told that i was too late to receive as the postal department has already sent it back to the origin where it was couriered from.

trying to get it back i found it to be a big fraud ...

We don't ordered any courier and we received one courier from Mega Book Co, Delhi and they are charging around 2000/-Rs from each company. When i search it then i came to know that its a labor laws books and some Spam book's inside this courier and i denied to take it and i returned it.

Please find this Co and arrest them.

I I was cheated today, in exactly the same manner. I was not at the registered address and someone at the office paid the amount, thinking that it is imp stuff. It is pure junk. Please help.

Hi I was cheated today in the same manner. I had collected from the post office personally paying Rs.2090 thinking that it is related to our business. In curiosity I opened the parcel in front of the post office official and came to know the fraud. As mentioned by Mr. Srinivas it is a pure junk.

I want a refund for the amount paid.

First of all we should NOT take a delivery of any thing (even if it receives free of cost) which we have not ordered, received by either VPP or Courier. And now a days we have all kinds of books or things are easily avasilable in the most of the cities in india. Whenever we require any book, please call its supplier of trader at office and check thoroughly and pay for it.

We can also get an information which we require on internet on line.

Please also keep in mind that these type of dealers/traders of Delhi are cheaters. Not all, but most of them are well known for thier brand name as "DELHI KA THUG" means CHEATERS OF DELHI.

We formed a new company and today we also received a VPP from Mega Book Store. As we haven't ordered anything, we were suspecious. We decided not to pay any amount, as whatever we want to purchase, we can choose through various options. Thereafter I googled the name and found that its purely a fraud.

We all should be carefull before accepting anything from unknown sources. In the coming time we may see these type of couriers from different names and places.

One more thing. When anybody pays for these couriers and postofiice/ courier companies handover the amount to the sender, it must not be a difficult task to find the sender. It is very unfortunate that we can't do anything even after knowing the fake couriers; advertisements for Jobs/ business offers (install a machine, take raw materials from us, give finished product to us; trainning free)/ mobile tower rental proposals from third parties etc.

I think we must be more alert and carefull, This type of forums should be promoted for consumer awareness.

I also received a VPP packet for Rs 2090/- to be paid, sent by Mega Book co -NewDelhi.

I was suspicious and checked the web site to find this. I decided not to collect this. Some one should file a police complaint on this company to trap this culprits.

Those who have lost money, they should file a police case atleast to nab these culprits/thugs.

I have also just registered my private limited company and received the same parcel from Mega Book Co. Delhi. Thank fully i also have not accepted the parcel as it came by VPP and I had to pay INR. 2090 as well. This is definately a fraud and we all should file a police complaint against these people.

I also noticed that these complaints have been coming since a long time but its very unfortunate that nothing has been done about it. I hope something is done so that people do not simply lose their hard eared money to some fraud.

I was about to pay the money to collect the courier. Thank God, I googled and found consumercomplaints.in. It saved me 2000 rupees. This mega book company is a cheap fraud, he doesnot list his address in google business also.

And i was also not present at registered office. though person available at registered office called me and not collected this vpp. though for a while i felt that we had not missed any important docs, yet later on google search and consumercomplaints.net i noticed many complaint of this fraud by mega book store. fortunately our money saved.

Hi! Today I receive One Itimation Letter for a Parcel for which I had to Pay Rs 2184 and collect it from PO.
Immediately I search out about Company 'Mega Book' in Google and find out that its a fraud so I never gave money. Thanks... to Consumer Complain Site...

The issue is that the Registrar of Companies provides a list of all newly registered companies to certain vendors and banks. Anyone on this forum would have also been contacted by a number of banks offering their services.

Mega Book company is likely a smart crook who has access to the list of newly registered companies and sends them a junk parcel via VPP. The ROC needs to be informed that the information they are providing to vendors is being misused.

I realized this since I never order anything via VPP - always via Flipkart.

Another tip to my fellow entrepreneurs - don't put your email address and phone numbers on forums like this. Nobody is going to give you your money back. It serves no purpose and only exposes you. If a really smart crook wanted, he'd use your information to con you once again.

I am a CA by profession. Recently formed 2 companies and both the companies received the same fraud parcels from Meghna Book Co, Meera Road, Thane. But luckily when the first parcel came, my client was informed by his staff about the parcel he was in my office and I told him not to accept the parcel. When I browsed the web I realised that it was a fraud company and I immediately informed my other client also. The next day he also received the similar parcel and he also did not accept it. But how these frauds are allowed to dupe the public freely without being caught is a million dollar question. shame on our system.

Thanks for posting your experiences due to which I also saved money. This time its NOT from Mega book. Its from United Book Co, 6511, Fatehpuri, Masjid Buildings, Delhi - 110006, a VPP to pay Rs. 2184 (Including Rs.104 postal charge).

I wonder how come these people been updated whenever a new company is registered, surely they may have some nexus with government offices?

We had recently registered for a private limited company. Today I received One Itimation Letter for a Parcel stated to collect a parcel from the GPO. Then I visited GPO to inquiry about the same. They told me to pay Rs 2184 and collect the parcel from United Book and Co., Delhi. But I thought that I had never booked from the vendor then how come the parcel has come. My Company, TESS Overseas has just been registered. Recently I was surprised to receive a VPP (20570) from an unknown United Book Company, Fatehpur Masjid Building, Delhi - 6 for which an amount of Rs 2184 was to be paid to the postman. I was fortunate that I quickly googled this company and hit up on this site and understood that it is some fraud and did not claim the parcel.
My surprise was compounded because I had not shared the Company address with anyone and yet I received a parcel - and that too by VPP. I wonder how such dubious operators get the addresses of newly registered companies (I can smell rat! Maybe hand-in-glove with Officials...) and get away with impunity...

Dear All, recently we registered a private limited company in Kolkata ROC and we are still in the process of fulfillment of our paper works. We received an intimation at our registered office yesterday that there is a VPL vide no 510 of Lake Gardens Post Office for which we have to pay INR 2457. Since we are aware of whom all we have intimated about the formation of this company we requested the post man to update us about the sender. He said that we have to visit the post office to get these details as he was not carrying the parcel because of the high cost. Today when I visited the post office, i came to know about megha book com and i denied to accept the same.

My question to all is how are they getting the data and details of newly formed company it is definitely through RoC people. Why is RoC not acting on this?? what is the government doing?? instead of holding small entreprenuers responsible for any breach why are they not acting to stop such FRAUD and nuisances.

Someone in the Registrar of companies is passing on information about the new registration of any company to Mega Book Store in Delhi, and they continue to do this postal fraud. In the beginning people get excited about a new compay and will of course receive any package on VPP basis thinking it is sent from the Registrar of companies!!!

There are suckers everywhere, and this Mega Book people know, and cheat...

The postman brought it to us and I regected the parcel as I knew it was a scam.

I just got little lucky here, got the parcel myself while at address. However, got to know its fraud within 5 minutes and rushed to main post office where the postman would report back to. Got hold of postman before he could update it as delivered in the records. Again got lucky to have postman as known person and generous one.

However, I have submitted a complain on ccrc.in and will further look for another complain channels to pursue.

MEGA BOOK DEPOT, FATEHPUR, NEW DELHI, and similar kind of scammed Couriers/VPPs being sent to Newly Formed Companies to cheat / fraud them and fleece money by sending waste paper books.

Today it has happened to us, as I have Refused the delivery of similar VPP Parcel asking whopping Rs.2497/- just for useless papers as you all said above... Also intimated to our staff whenever any parcel claiming money to be verified with management prior to accept any such mails.

I think a suo moto case can be filed on the scammed Mega Book Depot, Fatehpur, New Delhi to teach him a lesson and send them behind bars...

I just received the same parcel saying V.P.P on the registered address by the name of my company. I called my CA and asked are we expecting anything like this before paying and googled too and saw all these posts. Thanks to all of you I am not going to pay.

But the thing which really needs attention is not this. But the similar to this thing I am receiving marketing emails on the name of the company which I have not subscribed or disclosed anywhere.
So, From Where they are getting this information that is the thing which really requires the attention and strict action against them.
