Owner not returning the deposit
Address: Hiranandani Estate, Thane
I have been staying in the house for more than 5 years I vacated the house on the 15th of October. We have paid 1, 20, 000 as an advance. Post which we sent some photos of the house to the owner as he is in Singapore. Also handed over the keys to his friend. Now he is claiming that there are a lot of nail holes and the house requires painting and he will only pay me once he does all that work. I told him he can keep 20000 and return 100000 but he is not accepting the same.
We have been chasing him since he is not reachable most of the time as he is in Singapore but he only responds to mail and that too at his own discretion. What action can I take in such scenarios?

non refund of security deposit by the caretaker (in charge) of the house post one month notice period as mentioned in the lease agreement
Address: Gurgaon, Haryana, 122002
I have been living on rent in 'the addressed apartment:
'house no 938, room no 8, first floor, jaina market, old tel mill road, chakkarpur, gurgaon122002', for past four years and had made an agreement of lease for 11 months with the inchrge (Not the landlord as he stays out of the matter). The lease had a clear mention about the security deposit and also was duly signed by both parties. After the expiry of that lease, no new rent agreement was done as we were in good talking terms with the incharge of the house. But now when we told him that we are vacating the house, in a notice period of one month, he is refusing to pay back the security deposit. He is giving invalid excuses like, security deposits are refunded only to those who vacates the house on or before 31st/or 30th or whatever is the last day of the month, by giving a notice between 1st to 7th of that month. The security deposit amount is 6000inr. Can i file a complaint against him? Pls help

Rented house Sump is Leaking
Address: Bangalore, Karnataka
We rented a house in OMBR layout (Bangalore) during the month of August.
After 2 - 3 days of coming into the house , we came to know that Sump is leaking , as all water stored in the sump would leak and within hours the water level would go down and reach the bottom of sump.
After correct inspection we came to know that sump has full of cracks and water leaked through it.
When we informed the owner about the problem , owner saying he would only do some patch work & if that does not stop the leakage he is saying he is not responsible for that and asking to vacate the house if we are not adjusting.
We are paying huge rent for this house and this rude attitude of the owner causing worry in us.
Please suggest whether there is anything which can be done about this.

Owner not returning the deposit amount.
Address: Pune, Maharashtra
My Name is Lalit Panda. I would like to raise a complaint against our house owner. Her name is Bimla Pandey. Contact number: [protected]. She is not returning the complete deposited amount. We had an agreement that we are taking the house on rent for two years, we paid 70 thousand rupees deposit. There isn't any thing mentioned on the agreement regarding the deduction of a single penny from the deposite amount. She has only returned the 38500 rupees. She had deducted 20 thousand rupees for painting her house. 3000 for cleaning. 3000 for electric bill which we have already paid. And 6000 more for the stuff that we had used in her house. Her name is Bimla Pandey. Contact number: [protected]. G1/1 Hermes Herritage, Phase II, Shastri Nagar. Pune

It is the duty of owner/lanlord to make sure that the doors and windows are secured. It is not your fault for not having a grill for the window.
However, you should have told the owner that the window is not secure.
Give a police compalint and a consumer complaint.

Address: Bangalore, Karnataka
Dear Sir/Madam,
Currently Iam staying in an rented house, in below mentioned address.
#279,3rd stage, 2nd block, 3rd B Cross,
Basaveshwara Nagar,
Bangalore - 560079.
The owner of the house is behaving very rudely with the tenants, uses very rough and bad language with the ladies staying in rented houses.
daily with one or the other reason he irritates the tenants and when ever the tenants ask him why he behaves like this he will start scolding and ask us to vacate and go. And More over there are 3 rented families staying in his house and for all of them he irritates in same manner. All the tenants are fed up of this owner. and also he is not paying the tax to the government for the rent he collects from the tenants.
We come to home from office thinking to spend good time with family, but because of this owner we are not able to stay happily.
Please take a necessary action against him so that in future he should not irritate the rented people and should not use a bad language.
His name is Linganna and his number is[protected]
Thanks in Advance for the help.

Rent not being accepted
I have been staying in my rented house since 1978. Now the landlord has sold the building and surrounding land to one developer. We have not seen any legal papers related to this sales deed nor any written information from the builder.
The new so called landlord was accepting the rent by means of cheque. He was also offering us flats in the same locality after he builds a complex on this same land. We have not aggreed to his offer.
He later on didnt accept my cheque on the pretext that the rent receipt which is in my father-in-laws name does not contain the surname Nair. This non-accepting the rent is with several other tenents of my building on different grounds.
Last month we all affected tenents decided to send the rent by money order, But that to the new landlord has returned. I have kept my receipts in tact.
Please advice me what action or steps I need to take before it is too late.

Rented House — cost of owner's items lost in theft
I am staying in a rented house at Jodhpur. When I was out station, theft occurred in the house and bath room fittings (8 nos., mixture/non mixture type) are stolen. The house was properly locked when I left the station and the house owner was intimated regarding my absence.. The thief broke open a window glass (without grill), entered the house and took away the bathroom fittings. No other items are lost. Since the agreement for lease states that, when I vacate the house I have to hand over the house in the original condition, the house owner demands me to purchase new fittings against the lost ones.Since theft is not due to the negligence from my part, intimation was given to the owner regarding my absence from the station and the theft happened during my absence, I feel, I should not be responsible for the theft and the house owner should bear the cost of stolen items.
Please advise me on the above for further course of actions.
