UPS left RMA drive on the corridor and left. No one signed for the delivery. The parcel disappeared. Seagate discharged responsibility by asking customer to liaise directly with UPS yet did not provide tel number o[censored]PS to contact. Seagate stopped replying my email. My faulty HD has been returned to Seagate but replacement drive has not been delivered.

      Please inform you im bought Seagate expansion hdd and regular usage after usage it doesnt shows in desktop. as per the customer executive guildelines im visited nearest authroised service centre for claim data rescue service and they said customer wants to pay extra service charges and even they provided 3 years free data rescue services.

      wheres is the value of free service and why are they provided even their website also.

          I had brought a seagate 2 tb harddisk which is validity as it is with me not even from 1 yr and it is having different problems again and again. I had exchanged the harddisk more than 2 times because of its problems but still i am facing lots of problem. I want compensation i had wasted so much money in it and it is again not working. 2 times it had gone dead and now files' location is showing but files are not opening. All my data is lost each time. It did not even fell once but still these problems our occuring again and again. I am trying to open it from 2 days but as soon as it takes 99 percent loading it stops it doesn't go to 100 percent. I even left it to load for 3 hours but still it did not completed. I want not only replacement but a good replacement and also compensation for all the money i had wasted in its data recovery each time.

                I have purchased seagate harddisk and after two month its stop working. Since it is in a warrinty so i have placed online return. I have sent my hard disk on chennai cso. And as per their record shown on seagate website they have shipped new hard disk on my mentioned address on 20 oct 2016.
                But now its been one month i have not received it. Also the courier infotmation given on portal useless as i am not able to track.

                      I had a problem in my Seagate HDD 1TB being not detected in my windows system. I claimed for warranty in ACCEL FRONTLINE- Madurai and they demand extra charge of Rs.3500 for data recovery which will be lost during service under replacement warranty. Isnt this insane to charge such an amount for a HDD under warranty. The data loss is due to the hardware issue which comes under warranty and yet they claim to pay for it.                         USB connecting port of my external hard disk is accidentally damaged. I need it to be repaired.                                         I have a Seagate 500gb hdd and it got an error. so I have check it with sea tools and corrected error by diff. test.but then after on every week it fails and i have to check for errors for correction.
                                        then i have decided to go for rma process for replacement at accel frontline service ltd, ahmedabad.
                                        They have returned me new repaired sealed hdd, when i try to install os on that replaced hdd it shows disc is damaged and need to repair.go for seagate rma process.
                                        i think they have cheated me by replacement with repaired hdd.in replacement they provides bad repaired hdd to customers.they mentioned in rma process description that upto 90% hdd are good while customer go for replacement. then again i decided to go for replacement the details are :

                                          Seagate — Failed Hard Disc

                                          Dear Sir:

                                          About one and half year back we purchased a 160 GB Internal Seagate Hard Disc. About 2 months back, suddenly, Molex Adopter Power Cable connecting to the HDD burned out and the Computer Stopped. We replaced the damaged cable and the Computer restarted with the Hard Disc working fine. However, a few days back the drive failed. It is getting powered but is not reading. We took the drive to the Chennai Service Centre, who rejected the same saying that there were burnt out marks on the connector and asked us to write to the Seagate Support. We wrote to them and they asked us to send them the HDD / Cable Pictures, which we did. They replied that the Warranty was void, didn’t answer any of the following points raised by us, and didn’t give us any clear cut reason why the warranty was void:

                                          1. The PCB Side Connector is working and the drive is getting powered but it is not reading;

                                          2. If the Molex Adopter Cord burned out, it may be because of some manufacturing defect in the PCB Side Connector or the drive etc.

                                          3. How is it the User's fault that the Connector burned (every thing else is working fine in the Computer)? In fact the designing defect if any, in the drive causing the burn out is exposing the user to various risks.

                                          4. For an instance, if we assume the burn out is because of the Molex Adopter Cable, why Seagate is not supplying certified Connecting Cables? If they would have, we would have used the same.

                                          5. The Power Supply is absolutely fine because every thing else is working fine.

                                          6. Is Seagate trying to evade warranty protection under the cover of a designing defect that is theirs?

                                          7. If a product burn out happens, how can they blame it on the user and say the warranty is void? There have been any number of other burnouts, like laptops, cell phones etc., they never said it is because of the user.

                                          8. It is the moral and legal duty of the Manufacture to ensure that the product is designed in such a way that any such burn out never happens. And if it happens, they investigate the same and find proper solutions to the same. Rather than answering my original query about the burnout, they have simply said, "Warranty is void".

                                          9. It is unexpected of a world renowned manufacturer to treat the user in such a way. Rather than investigating the issue and solving the issue, they are simply passing the blame to the user.

                                          10. What is it that we could have done to prevent this kind of cable burn out and how are we responsible for it?

                                          11. Furthermore, we had a harrowing experience visiting their Chennai Service Centre. First of all their Toll Free Helpline gave very sketchy address with old door no., and with much difficulty we located the place tucked away in a by lane with no indication on the Main Road. Inside view was depressing and disappointing. About 20-30 persons were sitting and about 20 persons were standing. I had to wait for over an hour for my turn, to show the drive which was forthwith rejected without any tests. All the windows of room were closed and there was no air conditioning (there was a single oscillating pedestal fan). There was no drinking water. It is terribly sad and disappointing that a World renowned manufacturer like Seagate is treating its customers in such a poor and disappointing way.

                                            i have bought seagate external hardisk...frm EKAL STATIONERY MART.. frm sakinaka. my hard dirve do not work properly there is an error shows in transfering data during and automatically get off.. it happens twice wid me.. i have replace once and after that same error shown in (new replaced) hardisk.. now i dont want this kinds of.. hardisk which do not work properly or dont keep his... goodwill. yet change or replace once.. its better to take other than this hardisk...

                                              Seagate — 1000 GB Hard disk is faulty

                                              I puchased a new segate hard disk of 1000 GB a couple of days back in delhi, uttam nagar. on a day or two after when i tried to install it, it gives error for reading due to bad sectors over whole harddisk. Running the sea tool, a tool from seagate, display result as red dot meaning hard disk having problem and need to be replaced by seagate. I go to shopkeeper near my home from where i purchased this and he take that hard disk to submit the same to Ashok Bhavan Nehru Place and now told me that it requires 2-3 weeks for the hard disk to come back??
                                              Why?
                                              It is clearly violation o[censored]ser rights and chating and fraud with customer. I purchased a new hard disk and that is causing problem they should replace it with new one. I have bills for this. Why ther is delay??

                                              i bought my seagate harddisk before 2 years.now i am facing the problem " while started the system it is automatically, repetedly restarting without giving chance to enter into our account in the system."
                                              When you run into the “HDD Not Detected” error, first check the external hard drive interface data lines to see if there is deformation, whether the connection spot have been incorrectly soldered joint. After doing that, remove the hard drive back, the circuit panels appears. Unscrew the control panel fixed screws; separate the main control panel from hard disk. Then you can see two of rows spring on the hard disk. One row is the main electrical power supply, and the other row is the magnetic head mechanical arm drive coil power source and circuit control board interface between the data transmission.

                                              For hard drives with no special package, you can often see the dust on spring plate and control circuit board. Dips the absorbent cotton into dehydrated alcohol and then clean the dust. Check the deformation part and remove the oxide layer.

                                              If the above treatment does not solve the problem, you have to open the main part of the hard disk. Go to a dusty-proof place, twist open the front hard drive screws (some fixed with adhesive). Remove the front cover, and then you will see the disk. First, use a digital multi-meter to test whether the head manipulator drive coil is open circuit, keeping mind that the normal coil resistance is about 20Ω. Second, check magnetic heads to make sure connection is disconnected.

                                              Oh God...don't tell me that Accel frontline...world's worst service center i have ever been. Whenever i gave a call they never picked...when i went there in Bangalore..they don't know how to talk...worst service...In front of me, phone was ringing and they were not picking..when i asked, then one guy picked and talked very rudely. They took my HDD and first sentence was NO DATA RECOVERY...they never tried...i was shocked.SEAGate world, 's Best Company in HDD(Sucks).secondly they told we will call you once it gets repaired...but no communication( 3 weeks) ...i went and collected after 3 weeks.Main part...i got it repaired on 5th Nov, 2011...guess what again its dead...I visited their website...world's worst website...NO Complaint section...i think they have got it frreee ;p

                                                      I have an external powered Seagate 1 TB external hard-disk. The adapter is not working because it has shorted out. When I went for a replacement, I was asked to replace the entire hard disk, just for changing the adapter. Also, I was told that there was no gurantee of the data and it would most probably be lost. Now,I am in a soup. The only possible solution in front of me is to buy a new 1 TB hard disk, transfer the contents and get my hard-disk replaced. Is there another way out?

                                                          More than 45 days trying to replace my on warranty HDD. Same is been escalated to higher officials but no replies to my mails and no one in their local office is concerned.
                                                          Have already visited pune office 8 times which is around 10Kms from my place but all in vain

                                                            The Hard disk is really filled with bad sectors and it is very much prone to hangs and freezing. So I decidied to check the hard disk with a hard disk error checking software. HD Tune pro software shows a warning in the Hard disk known as "Ultra DMA CRC Error Count-Warning", with the following values- Current/Worst/Threshold/Data/Status=200/199/0/24/warning respectively. I also applied the company to issue RMA but the company sent me the Hard disk back without even repairing it. I am not at all able to use my computer with this Hard disk. Please get me the replacement.
