Worst UPS courier services in India

This has been the most frustrating experience I've ever had with a courier. UPS Worst International courier service in India to consgn – 1ZR8EZZ[protected] sent on[protected] to Portugal through Overseas. The UPS in India was charging more than the package’s amount and they did not deliver my package to Portugal and they are return in India on[protected]. Hi,

My parcel from Singapore has not been delivered yet to my address in Bangalore, India. It has been more than a month now. I have been following up with them for more than 1000 times. They failed file it with the customs and delayed and delayed and was suggesting me to return it back to the shipper without any valid reason.

And when I insisted to know the reason they were giving me every excuse and exorbidant customs duty and penalty (because they delayed) and as asking me to return. But when I insisted, finally the customs duty worked out to be way less than what they quoted and the penalty also way less but the penalty is still around 40K INR which is purely due to their mistake.

Now they are refusing to deliver unless I pay the penalty.

Is there any legal course of action that I can take?

Any suggestions or advice is more than welcome.

    This is the extremely bad experience I have ever experienced. My parcel came from abroad and this ups service dint informed me about it. I tried thousand times to contact them but no way to contact them.after many attempt I was able to contact them and asked about my parcel then then took action to contact customs for my parcel and till then it's already been two months late. Now when got it cleared now they are asking me more money to deliver it. Saying I have to pay the warehouse bill of customs. Now this is their foult they never contacted me through mail or anything and now they are asking me to pay the bill for their foult? Please help me with this. Hope for justice

      There is no good response, it is first time i am doing and first experience which is not good, it was said it will take 3 4 days but it took more than a week and no proper updates

        My ups order 1ZV4W[protected]

        delivery date was 24 th SEP 2021, but ups delayed by 4 days .it was very important parcel sent thru expedited delivery from US AT ADDITIONAL CHARGE!!
        However Ups not only delayed by 4 days, they even refused to deliver on time even after calling customer support several times !! ups promised delivery by 24 sep 2021 now support team is refusing to take complaint against operation team who delayed the parcel beyond 3 days !!

          It’s been over a month since I sent a courier of my used items from Ireland to India but haven’t received the delivery. Although the shipment reached India within a few days, the shipment has been stopped at their Delhi warehouse on grounds of custom clearance (Note: the shipment was to be delivered to Jamshedpur). The agent dealing with me is Saurabh Nigam and has been unsuccessful in keeping things transparent and providing misinformation throughout the process. My mom and I was made to come to Delhi specially to get the shipment cleared but even then they didn’t get it processed. He chose days that we weren’t available so that he could bill us more for Warehouse and other charges. Firstly, since they promise door to door delivery they shouldn’t expect a resident of Jamshedpur to be present in Delhi for customs clearance. If this was the case they should have provided me with some kind of information through their website or otherwise when I created and paid for the shipment. Secondly, if they needed me to be present they could have got the shipment closer to my residence for customs clearance (like Kolkata). The company has not been supportive in any way but has mentally harassed me for the delivery of my shipment. They have taken undue advantage of my unavailability to charge me extra while still not processing the shipment. I have not got any formal notification or letter from the customs office so I am not even sure if what UPS/Saurabh Nigam is telling me is even true. At a certain point I was also asked to pay in cash for clearance and other charges to which I asked for a proper invoice to be able to pay online and I was advised otherwise!

              Multiple Request for GSR against 1Z9E8Y[protected] was made but the customer service kept on delaying and then denied the same on vague grounds. Now again, I made a request for GSR and being given improper/unsatisfactory reasons.

              Request to execute this GSR at the earliest.

                I am a Canadian citizen stuck in India for the last 3 months. As such, I requested my employer in Canada to send me my work laptop here. It was shipped on May 28 and UPS Express was supposed to have it delivered to me by May 31 (due to the weekend). The package was misplaced in Canada, not shipped until June 4 and since June 5 I have been dealing with UPS India. First they asked me to make 6 revisions to the commercial invoice that UPS Canada had already cleared. Then they incorrectly classified my shipment as a gift and charged me the highest possible customs amount and my total ended up being Rs. 61, 907. I refused to pay this and was advised by UPS Canada and India to resubmit my commercial invoice with the right values and classifications to UPS who would then resubmit them to customs. I submitted this to UPS Canada (no response) and the agents who I was dealing with in India, Manoj Kumar and Saurabh Nigam. Saurabh told me in writing that all inclusive after submitting the revised commercial invoice, I would only have to pay Rs. 12, 000-13, 000. Today after almost a week he is going back on his word and charging me the original 61k and saying he made a mistake. Well his mistake is costing me Rs.49, 000 and I have lost 3.5 weeks because o[censored]PS India's mistakes, unresponsiveness, inefficiency and general lack of disregard for the customer and their situation. I would never recommend UPS to anyone and would like to lodge a formal complaint against them.

                  I had purchased a product from a US online website and unfortunately it was dispatched through UPS Express and after providing all the documents they requested for customs clearance it been more than a month and there is no response from UPS since then.

                  Today I received an email stating that package cannot be cleared and there is additional documents required and not exactly mentioning what documents when few weeks before that said that they have got the package released form customs and I have to pay duty of some 8000/- to which I agreed to pay under condition that they show me original documents at time of package delivery.

                  So
                  I am not sure if the package is still in customs
                  or
                  Its with UPS Express india.

                  The package is in my name so its my property and they cannot keep it if its released from customs and if not release then they should clearly communicate what documents are required.

                    I sent the parcel from India 28th April, 2021. Today is 10th May, 2021. It is showing that the parcel is already reached in Spain (warehouse scan). So, there is no issues related with customs clearance, only the UPS courier itself hold the parcel. They do not even talk with the receiver (University of cadiz, Spain) although the consignee has all the documents to receive the parcel.

                        My parcel has shipped from Thailand on 21st April and it supposed send Mumbai custom for scan however it is going through Delhi office and UPS is asking money for transferring the parcel to Mumbai custom. which is around 2000+ as i have transferred only my used clothes and foot wear UPS is taking their hand back as saying this baggage and UPS will not take part in this. and contact to agent for getting custom clearance.

                          Let me remind you that parcel was booked on 14th sept and till 9th oct we were not given any details from UPS, as per the below trailing email, on when we are going to receive the parcel.
                          Will you pay for the time we lost!!!

                          On calling to UPS we were informed that parcel is lost at Dubai.
                          Due to this our customer had to resend parcel using other professional courier company and which delivered to us smoothly.
                          Will you pay for the parcel resent!!!

                          Recently when I am approaching UPS to resolve this issue than you are talking only about charges, it's seems there is no mind set to resolve the issue but to ask for charges!!!

                          What about the charges customer paid in resenting the parcel using another professional courier, due to unreliable information received from UPS that parcel is lost at Dubai!!!

                          I repeat to resolve this issue and charges will not be paid

                          Will you pay for my time of doing this type o[censored]nproductive communication & stress created for me!!!

                            Just now I have contacted your customer care center at Bangalore. Unfortunately a lady took the call. I have called her around 5.50 PM today for clarification. I have informed her that we need to send home made items to US for own consumption and requested for tariff details. But she has informed that we can not send home made items to US as per airlines rules and I need to take approvals. I have further told her that recently we have sent items to US for our own consumption. She has inturn informed that I can find out elsewhere. Not able to understand the service you extend to customer and the way in which we get response.
                            I got your service contact number from my known source at Vijayawada. They have also confirmed that they have sent home made items to US using your service. You may be aware the meaning for home made items.
                            Please check and advise suitably to provide infornation properly to customer whenever they call.

                              It's been over a month that i have been getting a run around by ups india and philippines. It all started with ups teams not knowing processes to follow worldwide. Ups being a global logistics company and dealing with worldwide shipments, least expected is that they are aware of the processes in detail of each country and provide accurate information/suggestions while accepting shipments and payments from customers/partners.

                              I have been following up practically every day and ups teams are least bothered to resolve my issue. I'm tired and extremely frustrated with their behavior and approach. Customer centricity is missing completely. I have paid over 50, 000 inr for my shipment which is not a small amount.

                                To whomsoever it may be concerned,

                                Please note that this subject shipment was sent on Monday 17/08 and we are on 28/08 with no news on this shipment and there is no proper tracking available for this either. I understand if a couple of days here and there is possible due to the current scenario, but this shipment has been dispatched from Jaipur 10 days back. Now I do not know what to tell my client who is the consignee. The content is fabric masks and our client needs it SOONEST POSSIBLE due to prior commitments. When I call your customer care, they pick up the call after me being on hold for 30 minutes and they tell me they do not know when it would be delivered. This is terrible service.

                                Please get this resolved soonest possible!!
                                Hi this is Atanu Das from RAMAYANA HANDICRAFTS.We have an account with UPS vide A/c no.11630V.We have sent one parcel to Spain vide tracking no.1Z11630V[protected] around August, and for this we have paid an Import duty for EURO 30.92 through Amex Credit Card though the courier always in DDP mode. But as per RBI guidelines we can't made any IMPORT payment through Credit Card. So since then we are corresponding with UPS team to refund the said amount to Amex Credit Card and raise a fresh Invoice in the name of RAMAYANA HANDICRAFTS, so we can pay it to you.
                                After making several mails and telephone with Erica & Dishant still the refund not made to the said Amex Every time they said it's not possible to refund and generate a fresh Invoice in favour of Ramayana Handicrafts.As far as my understanding it can be done.So my humble request you to
                                Just refund Euro 30.92 to Amex Card Account and raise a Invoice to us in the name of Ramayana Handicrafts vide A/c No.11630V. So then we can make the payment again.
                                We have an issue with RBI for this Import matter. Get some advice from Senior authority and sorted out.
                                Please suggest something.
                                Though its been DDP mode courier..but we paid the Import Fees Online through Amex Card.
                                As we are facing issue from RBI for payment made through Amex Card for Import payment.
                                So we asked you please refund the said payment to Amex Card and generate a Invoice against our Account No.11630V.
                                We will pay the same amount immediately.

                                  I recently made a purchase from amazon us site and gave shipping address as my office address in bangalore. I have been ordering from amazon us store for couple of years now and all the orders get delivered at the courier point inside the tech park. There seems to few dozen other packages meant for my company, so they delivered my package also to them and updated the amazon site marking as package delivered. After a week of trying to tracking my package, i found out that my package is with some logistic team inside my company. The logistics team wanted to get confirmation from ups that the package was mine, but ups didn’t even care to inform them of the mistake, after i tracked the package. Worst part, they are claiming, if the address is office address, they don’t see what’s wrong in giving the package to some random person from same office.

                                    I have been a regular importer. I used ups service for importing my ~30000 rupees consignment. The usual bcd is 10%. However, when they delivered it, they sent me an invoice of 29000. Now when i ask for clarification, i am not getting any reply. Its been a month and i am neither getting a reply, nor i am getting my consignment. This is harassment and i need some help. I need to end this by filing a case against them.

                                      I am really tiered o[censored]ps people...
                                      They sent me an email for documents requirements & they also tell me that if i didn't submit the documents within 24 hours than i will be charged 5000 per day for next 2 days & 10000 everyday after words...

                                      I submit everything in time with iec code & all the other documents... But they are keep pushing things forward because of very small issues... Like amount not matched with the shipment amount... I am also ready to pay full duty which they sent me... Still they are pushing things & not picking my calls... I called them many times... But they only pick up my calls few times...

                                      Really tiered with this people...

                                      Can you please help me out... I still didn't get my parcel... & they will definitely charge me lot of money... I am ready to pay custom duty but not ups charges because of there fault...

                                        We have received this shipment on FOC basis for development on cost of shipment US$ 10. But UPS unable to clear the shipment on FOC basis.

                                        UPS customer care person ask us for fair value invoice. Thus we ask shipper and submit the same which we received fare value invoice o[censored]S$ 1140 and agree to pay duty as per the below :

                                        Commodity : Steel fabricated clamp.
                                        Value US$ 1140 @ US$ rare Rs. 70 = Rs. 79800
                                        Net wt. of clamp is : 7.50

                                        So, 79800 / 7.500 = Rate per Kgs of steel is Rs. 10640 / Kgs.

                                        But till it is pending with UPS and they unable to clear our sample shipment and again ask us for fare value declaration.

                                          With reference to subject shipment, it has landed on 03.08.2018 and still in hold in mumbai customs.

                                          Ups are unable to clear the shipment and send it to us. This is effecting our production process. Every time we question ups, they come up with some reason.

                                          Please help us out of this issue, so that we receive the import without any further delay.

                                            UPS India is nothing but a crap. Four packages were coming from the US and this happened. First of all, the customer care called me and told me that I need to clear custom duty charges for which I agreed and they send me the bank account details including the charges of each package. I had deposited the amount mentioned on the email and was eagerly waiting for the arrival of my packages for days and nothing was happening. I called them back and inquired about it and they said, they have already handed over to another courier service for the delivery. Waited again for days and no response whatsoever. Being a little agitated, I called them back and this fool said I have not made any payments yet. Later after few clarifications made, another fool said it’s not the correct amount and that I “made” the mistake of not depositing the required amount. I sent them the bill I received through the previous fool and they told me they’d get back in an hour which they never did. So I called them up again and scolded them for their inefficiency and they had the audacity to hang up on me. These were all female attendants by the way. They sounded very unprofessional and acted even more. So, here’s a piece of advise, a piece because I’m dealing with fools here. Grow up and learn the etiquettes of what it means to serve as you are getting paid to do so. Shame!

                                              I had an order shipped from china on[protected] and reached india on[protected] for custom clearance and scan with ups. Today, is 25th jan2018 and it has been a month since then and i have not received my consignment yet. Last update that is shown in their website is from 5th jan (Which was the same status on 26th dec2017) that -
                                              "[protected]:08
                                              In, mumbai, documentation required for import is incomplete or missing. We are working to obtain this information. / this package was abandoned by both the sender and receiver."
                                              I have called them up, gave my details, email but all in vain. Seems like they doesn't give much values to customer issues/concerns and neither respects customers' time and money. I am just thinking of filing a legal complaint. I have seen similar post recently too, so is there any way to file an fir against this ups courier co. May be we can all sign an legal complain and sue them
                                              I already lost other hopes of receiving my products and i can't wait anymore.
                                              Please suggest, how we all can take legal proceedings against this co.

                                                This is a consignment coming from united states.This consignment was asked for transshipment to kolkata, west bengal, india. Transshipment letter was also given . Till date the consignment is at mumbai customs. Repeatedly complains are given as well as calls are being made to the toll free number. The correct status of the consignment is not being updated at all. No help is being received from the customer care. When inquired each and every time we rae being informed that the matter is being marked as that of "utmost importance" and forwarded to the operations department, who is in turn not giving a proper feedback.

                                                  Do not even think of importing any shipment in india through ups unless you want to experience what nightmare is and never ever think of importing for business purpose, if you do you will be on verge on killing your business.
                                                  We had our two commercial shipments coming from france, they were shipped in december 2017 ending, shipped through express service (We paid huge for shipping), it was supposed to be delivered in 3-6 working days, but guess what this pathetic lose at ups india are yet to deliver our package, been more than 20 hecking days!!! To add up oil on fire the ups india has got the worst and the most pathetic customer support any company could ever have. No one would ever give a damn about your important emails, they simply don't even bother to reply. We have been told from the last 15 days that "the packages would be cleared in 2-3 days" but those 2-3 days has never arrived yet.
                                                  Ups hq could shutdown their indian operations, it's better to have no presence rather than having a disgraceful presence which only put your brand's reputation at stakes.
                                                  Stay away from ups, do not ever think o[censored]sing ups india even if they do a free shipping. Just avoid it to avoid nightmare.

                                                    I was supposed to receive a parcel from us but it's being delayed from so long and customer care service is also the worst no one is even picking up the phone i am not even getting any information about where my parcel is nothing is working out, last time it delayed though we paid extra money for fast delivery and this time again it's being late and worst part is no one is picking up phone.. The worst services i have ever experienced in my life is o[censored]ps courier service in india
                                                    UPS India, very pathetic service.
                                                    1. Shipments is lost from bangalore airport.
                                                    2. No body informed about this to customer.
                                                    3. Customer care number( just delete that from your website). No body picks up.
                                                    4. No satisfactory response from email.

                                                    UPS India: Stop doing courier business and start selling ice-cream or something.

                                                      This shipment supposed be deliver on 14th november 2017, but still i was not delivered and keep on extending the time due to customs clearance

                                                      From 1st december 2017 onward keep in touch with ups customer care and west brokerage by email and phone, nothing is working out.

                                                      Please let know any other way to approach the ups office.

                                                        The consignment consisted of a single printed book (Correctly described in invoice), which is non-dutiable. Instead of filling in the boe as such, a wrong product description was entered, and i was charged duty and related costs totalling rs.545. Ups should explain or refund the amount.
