Description of the Incident:
I booked a Cab from Cab Bazaar to reach chandigarh airport. The distance from my location to Chandigarh Airport was 142 Km, but the Cab Driver took the longer route and I had to pay for 155 Km, he took the longer route as he wanted to take some stuff from someone. It took him more than 15 minutes to collect his things. The longer route was more crowdy as well, making the journey take more than 3 Hour 25 Minutes.
I have done the same journey in less than 2 Hour 30 minute using another Cab from MakeMyTrip
The end result being I was late for my flight, and had to leave my check-in baggage and go directly to my flight for which I was late by 3 minutes but thankfully was allowed to board the plane, and apart from that he asked me to pay 3300 whereas the actual amount I had to pay him was 2818 Initially.
As I was late and had no time to argue, I paid him 3300.
I believe he knew very well that I won't be able to say anything no matter what amount he asks for when I was already late.
I wish to file a complaint as he was well aware of the time of my flight, he should have prioritized my flight more than his personal interests for which I had to pay him extra and lose my Check-in Baggage as well.
Desirable Resolution:
I believe I am entitled to the extra 500 Rupees that I paid, along with some compensation amount of around 2500 as I had to leave my Baggage due to the added Delay.
