Dear Sir/Madam,
I have availed an education loan from Central Bank of India under the Central Sector Interest Subsidy (CSIS) Scheme with moratorium valid till July 2025. My loan account number is [protected].
As of now, there is no record of the CSIS subsidy claim for FY2025 on the CSIS portal. As per the scheme guidelines issued by MHRD, the lending bank is required to submit the subsidy claim every financial year during the eligible period.
When I contacted the branch regarding the same, I was informed that “master data is already created” and that the subsidy process is a one-time activity. This appears inconsistent with the CSIS guidelines which require annual submission of claims by the bank.
A similar issue occurred earlier and the subsidy was applied only after I raised a grievance on the Public Grievance Portal. I had also filed an RTI seeking clarification on the current status; however, no response has been received even after the statutory deadline.
As there has been no confirmation regarding submission of the FY2025 claim, I have been compelled to escalate the matter. My complaint has now been registered with the RBI Ombudsman under reference number N[protected].
It appears that submission of CSIS claims may be handled at the central processing level rather than the branch; however, the branch has not been able to provide any confirmation regarding the status of the claim.
I request the Regional Office and concerned authorities to kindly verify the matter and ensure that the CSIS claim for FY2025 for my loan account is submitted on priority and confirmation is provided regarding the status.
I would also like to highlight that the deadline for submission of CSIS claims is 31 March 2026. Delay in submission may result in the claim being treated as backlog, which may not be entertained as per scheme guidelines. Timely action is therefore requested to avoid any loss of subsidy during the moratorium period.
Regards,
