Club Mahindra Holidays — misbehaviour by the staff at kandaghat property

This is with reference to my pathetic experience with club mahindra kandaghat shimla property during my stay in room no 1502 and 1504 for 2 days 1st to 3rd july'18. My makemytrip booking id is

I got married on 29th of june and planned my honeymoon at shimla wherein i made a reservation with makemytrip for 2 rooms at the club mahindra kandaghat property for 2 days. I faced numerous issues during my stay some of which were a clear case of infringement of privacy. The details of the same are as under -

1. Additional charge - the reservation included breakfast, however when i reached the property, i was asked for an additional payment of 720+taxes per person per day incase i wanted to avail the breakfast for which i had already paid. Since i was not allowed to avail the facilities for which i had paid, i want a refund of 720*2 (For 2 days)*4 (For 4 people) + taxes which i had already paid. Both makemytrip and club mahindra refused to take onus and blamed each other for the error rectification, however none of them resolved the issue. Mr nishant, honey and alok were the point of contact at makemytrip who co-ordinated with kuldeep at club mahindra. Mr alok was supposed to revert on the same who was highly unprofessional and didn't bother calling back even after committing the same.

2. Infringement of privacy - this is my biggest and major concern. While it was made clear to the staff that i was on my honeymoon with my wife, one of the staff members entered the room early morning without my permission while i was inappropriately dressed with my wife. That incident was justified by the staff on the grounds that they entered the room for cleaning. If my checkout is scheduled at 12 pm, then why will the staff enter in the morning for cleaning which neither me or my wife asked for. Besides the staff entered the room without any intimation and misused the master key to enter with out my permission. The action of the staff is unacceptable and highly inappropriate, causing me and my wife alot of mental trauma. Such mal practices were least expected from a group of certain standing like yours.

3. Lack of adequate facilities - during the stay, the staff ensured that the stay was uncomfortable in every possible way. We were refused fresh towels, glasses which were the basic requirements.

4. Ill-mannered and unprofessional staff - once we raised the concern about the privacy infringement mr vikas bhatia was of the mindset that the action of the staff was appropriate. They couldn't handle the complaint and when i got furious, instead of tackling the situation, he mentioned that there were recordings of the discussion and threatened us to use it. That makes me wonder that if there were cameras installed then there is a possibility of the same being installed at other private places as well and hence the action of the staff was found justified and we were being blackmailed instead of the staff being trained well. We received a call from mumbai from mr jerson who spoke differently and apologetically at first however during the second call, he changed his stance. He promised to connect us with his superior mr javed akhtar to ensure that the issue was raised, however we never received a call back from either of them. Besides they refused to provide the email id as well.

Our first stay during our honeymoon has been highly unpleasant and humiliating and both makemytrip and club mahindra ensured the same. If such are the regular practices at club mahindra then these are highly punishable under law and i shall ensure that the same is escalated till we get justice for the actions.
