Without acknowledging/responding to my below email, even today I get an email from the bank stating "...please make immediate payment to avoid your name being sent to CBIL..." Just now I tried calling your 24 hr phone banking service twice and every time waited for 10 minutes (6:30 pm-6:40 pm, IST and 6:43 pm - 6:53 pm) against the IVR option to speak to the bank executive but call terminated without connecting to anyone. Hope its not so by design?

All of a sudden I found my credit card (AAB Card No. [protected]) statement showing dues of Rs. 5, 517.53 against some thing called ‘MMT Money Saver Fee’. I was surprised to see the dues amount as for long time I NEITHER USED THE SAID CARD TO BUY ANY THING NOR ORDERED ANY PRODUCT.

I felt relieved when the bank executive agreed to bank’s mistake and assured me that all charges against it will be reversed. I was also told that reversal of the charges and any late payment penalty amount on it will be done and it will reflect in the next statement.

Shockingly the bank as promised did NO follow up. On the contrary I started receiving very disturbing and harassing kind of phone calls from the bank’s outsourced collection team. These calls appear to generate from ROBOTS having only mouth and NO ears. Every time I tell them about my complaint number and request them to sink up with the bank but again and again I use to get similar call without any trace/acknowledgement of the previous call. This made me feel that

(1) There is hardly any coordination between the bank and its dues collection team.
(2) Bank’s customer support process design is UNILATERAL ignoring the credit card holder’s issues and problems faced
(3) Call history is either not maintained or not looked at.

Even today the emails received by me from the bank state about outstanding dues do not show any trace of solution to the problem conveyed during the said complaint. With such non-responsive system, waste of time and harassment I don’t think one would ever like to use the credit cards issued to him/her. Which means bank automatically fails in its very purpose of marketing such product.

Please urgently look into the matter and resolve the issue. I have not used the card for buying any goods/product/service and should therefore not be charged any money. Also please STOP this harassment by resolving it in one shot instead of dragging it. Else only option I will be left with to surrender my ABNA credit card.

ABN AMRO CREDIT CARDS — Extortion by ABN Amro Credit Cards

My Credit card no. is [protected]. ABN amro has been sending me bills of offers of 'Premier Club' and 'Air tickets coupons'. I had not accepted those offers. But still ABN AMRO CREDIT CARD employees are asking for money on telephone. Initially they had sent bills of Re8800/=. Now they have sent SMS claiming amount Re13435.91/=

I may file a case against the bank for mental torture and extortion if settlement for no additional payment from my side. I have already paid Re1200/= extra as 'late fee' for unaccepted offer. I am going to expect either judicial inquiry of the bank to know how much money ABN AMRO had collected from people by using abusive language extortion technique or Re one core. This is because I have full right to raise doubt against ABN AMRO employees that they might have collected more than cores of Rupees from innocent people by using abusive language. ABN amro employee has used abusive language with me on telephone to extort money from me. The person could not give justification why I was supposed to pay.

I have not given any written consent for said schemes.

British arrived in India with reason of trade and that resulted in our slavery. ABN AMRO is operating in India to collect extortion money from middle class people in the name of business which will also result in slavery of middle class people.

I have therefore no choice but to save India from AB AMRO CREDIT CARDS BANK and therefore, I have decided to take above action by consultation with consumer court lawyers.

Immediate action required or else I will not be responsible for the damage of ABN AMRO image in news papers or even through this communication.

I m also in a similar situation of harassment from ABN Amro Bank; and I m seriously pursuing them for an explanation from their Banking authorities. I ve also roped in the RBI for the same – RBI has advised me to wait for 30 days and to see if I get a satisfactory resolution of my complaint.

I am commenting below on my own complaint:

ABN Amro bank is not responding to my grievance and the banking system (software) will have no other way to understand reason for the 'payment default' (as of today it shows outstanding dues of Rs 1712). I am therefore sending sending payment of Rs 1750/- via ICICI Bank (Vashi, Navi Mumbai branch) Cheque No 961400 (dated 10-Aug-09) payable to ‘AAB Card No. [protected]’. I will drop the said cheque in nearest ABN Amro drop box (at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai) tomorrow (11-Aug-09) before noon. This is to first ensure removal of 'PAYMENT DEFAULT' being generated by ABN Amro's banking system.

Next, I would expect the bank to quickly revert with redressal of my grievance mentioned in my previous mails (copied below) and after verification credit the amount of Rs 1750/- back to my credit card account.

I found my case quite similar to you as they have debited my card account for certain fees ( Rs.4999 + 10.3% Service Tax) which I am not availed for.

After informing their call centres many times, I wrote to them and below quoted is their reply.
Based on their reply, I have arranged for the clearance of the balance payment.

Now they are sending repeated SMS's. e-mails stating that the above amount is over due with Finance Chrge, late payment fee etc etc.

It seems it is ABN Amro banks' mode of operandi and I am giving them 10 days to sort this matter and give me a no dues letter else I will be referring this issue to the Banking Ombuds man.

ABN AMRO Credit Card — Excessive billing for unordered goods by bank

I was holding the credit card of ABN Amro Gold card from past 2 years, I am facing a major problem with the bank as they were running an offer of giving a trip from MMT which eventually I came to know was from Makemytrip, of which I had no idea as the customer care one day calls my cell and asks my credentials and sends me the offer which was conveyed as a GIFT from their side, i am still unclear how can one charge money on the gift that is sent, my next bill had the amount of 5,000/- for the service I had not ordered (i.e apparently the GIFT they sent across to me ) nor used anytime and later, after this incident I got frustrated and I also cancelled my card, destroyed the same and sent it across to the bank, the billed amount of 5,000/- Rupees I havent cleared as it is an act to cheat and extort money from the common people, I am feeling quite harassed by the act of the bank and the kind of culture they cultivate to forcefully send across the offers which are not ordered and suddenly get a bill of exorbitant amount.

I also request RBI and the legal authorities to put an end on such practices of banks trying to send goods across to the customers without their prior consent or not disclosing the real offer and confirming the credentials on the phone considering it as an apporval of the offer.

ABN AMRO Credit Card — FORCEFULLY COLLECTED MONEY FOR NO SERVICES/GIFTS PROVIDED

I was having ABN AMRO Feedom Credit Card No. [protected]. As on 11 August I had Rs. -321.96 with the ABN AMRO Card. It means my money with with the bank. All of a sudden an officer of ABN AMRO called up to say that your Freedom Card is stoped and u r being provided with new "Upgraded ABN AMRO Titanium One Credit Card" No. [protected] with the same amount limit of Rs. 131,000.00. On my enquiry, the ABN AMRO Officer said there would no charges. But, to my dismay, I received ABN AMRO statement for the period 23/08/09 to 22/09/09 showing Upgrade fee of Rs. 3000.00 plus service tax Rs. 309.00 total Rs. 3309/-. Thereafter I send several email requesting to withdraw the upgrade fee but always they said your matter is sent to the concerned unit.
I started getting threatening calls from the ABN AMRO to deposit the charged levied by them along with late fee. One day the bank people sent one MONEY COLLECTOR on 9 November 2009 for collecting Rs, 510/=, and issued Receipt No. 202724 against our protest.
IS ABN AMRO BANK IS IN INDIA TO LOOT/GRAB/HARASS THE INDIANS BY FORCIBLY COLLECTING MONEY? OUR CRIME BRANCH (ECONOMIC) AND OR GOVERNMENT OF INDIA SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS GOOD RAJ OF ABN AMRO BANK.

Abn Amro / Credit Card — Full and final settlement

Dear Bank,
I was Holder of ABN Amro credit card till 2005. I avail the facility of credit card and also paid the payement on regular basis.After passing by 5 years i am receiving the threatning calls from some of your representative to clear the remaining dues. On daily basis your representative is harassing and threatning me to either pay the dues or face the dire consequences, which makes me mentally disturbed. If i had any dues against me pl let me know , so that all the things could be settle once for all.
