[Resolved]  ABN AMRO Credit Card — Threatening phone calls

I have taken ABN AMRO Bank credit card 5 years back which is free for first 1 year to try.
After 1 year, I called up customer care to close the card after clearing the dues. And they said they did!
But still I used get statements every month showing annual fee due payment.
And I used to call every 15 days to make sure that my card is closed.
First time, I was told that I need not worry and everything is fine.
Second time, I was asked to cut the card into two pieces and drop in the dropbox. I did!
and after that I did not get statements.

But after 1 year, real pain started, I am getting calls twice and thrice in a year asking me to pay some amount to REALLY close the card OTHERWISE my name will be in defaulters list.

These calls will strech for even 1 hour sometime because I had to tell them years old story.
And after listening to my story I hear only statement, Sir please pay just 50% of the due, we will close the card.

I have to idea what to do because I have no document as evidence against them.

Please help me.

I moved to Mangalore in the month of Dec'08.I got a call from one of the reps about the ABN Amro Credit card.I said I will apply for it ,the rep asked me to get few documents.That person never turned up till date!!!!!!!!!! Do I still have to use your services???? Its disgusting!
ABN AMRO Sucks.

Same is my story here.
Do not ever take this banks credit card. This is the way they make money and nobody is doing anything to prevent them. Lets all take a stand and drag them to consumer court. This is also Mr. Yugandhar you can do.

The ABNAMRO people are stupids.
I am using their card since 2 years and from the begining I have been getting the calls from them saying that "you have been approved for some 50, 000 loan or approved for the free air tickets or tour package like this. I am a businessman and I don't need such a small amount & for air tickets we have to pay the taxes ( all airlines are giving for 299/- now a days + taxes).

And finally I said NO to them for everything and also told them to update their systems that I am not interested in their promotional activities, though I am still getting the calls everyday. If I said "thank you, I don't require" also I am getting the answer from them is "Why". If I get the time, I will meet them in the COURT.

I had an ABN Amro Credit Card. I had spend an small amount and had paid almost every month. But every month i used to recieve the statement after due date. Now they had levied a huge amount as late payment and taxes. I had also mailed to their head office and wanted to make a settlement. They replied me that an executive will be contacting me in a few days. But since two months of my mail no body have contacted me. Suddenly last month someone called up and said you have an payment due. I told him that i have already mailed for settlement. He replied ok sir we will see this matter. I asked him to give me a details of my purchases and payment. But after then no calls came to me. Again today a lady called me up from a Landline No.[protected] asking for the payment, I told her that my faher is not well so please call me on Monday. She almost shouted at me saying that i will call you on monday for paymenyt only and wont hear any other word from your side.

This is the worst service that i have recieved ever.

ABN AMRO Credit Card — Closing Credit Card and unnecessary Annual and Late fees charged

I have ABNAMRO credit card (No. [protected]) which i want to close but calling on their customer care number there is no option to close the card. Even when i talk to customer care executive they told me excuses that system is upgrading, you talk to other departments etc., but they never give the exact information How do i close my credit card? Also I was told that the card is lifetime free and now they have levied Annual charges and late fees.I sent mail to [protected]@in.abnamro.com about it but nobody respond to it.

Please help me to close my credit card account i will be very thankful to all.

ABN and Lombard — Without confirmation amount has debited

i am using abn amro credit card and i made the payment whatever i made the actual purchase, even after sometime without my confirmation amout has been debited for some premier offer and icici lombard policy. i had many and many discussion with abn people and they responded very badlly.
i given many more request to get call back regarding the cancelation, but no response. still they are telling more outstanding amount in my account.
petrol transaction charge

I have been charged with Rs. 28.09 as petro transction charge in the bill dated 02.10. 2008 though the bill amount is Rs. 1000. 00.

Pl send me the revised statement .meanwhile i have sent the cheque for rs. 1000.00 only after deducting the same.
provide me the list of drop boxes located in ahmedabad.i am in navarangpura area to be more specific in between Manavmandir and vijay cross road.

I AM APPLY ABN AMRO CREDIT CARD ONE MONTH BEFORE MY VERIFICATION IS COMPLETD, BUT YET M NOT RCD MY CARDS
The ABN AMRO are not following proper ethics for thsi CC business.
Even I am getting all possible threatning for the recovery agents, sometimes RBI Defaulter list, sometimes consumer devision, sometimes and advocate telling he will stretch me to court.

But my friend as per the RBI rules, if you havent made any purchase on the card then any bank cannot force you to pay the cahrges they are additing to the CC account you have. And you can ake a police complaint for the same. I do know it wont help much as this will add to more headache. BUt best to do is, receive the call & then keep aside the phone, let them talk or shout how ever they want.
These guys dont even understand that they are spending more money on STD rates than the actual collection amount.
I HAVE SEEN WORST EVER COMMUNICATION FROM ABNAMRO. AS WITHOUT UR INTIMATION THEY GIVE U APPROVAL AND SEND A BILL AMOUNT.. WHEN U SEARCH FOR CALL CENTER NO THEY RESPONSE WITH COMPUTER GENERATED. AND CAN NOT SATISFY UR NEED FOR CLARIFYING ABT ISSUES.

ABN AMRO Credit Card — Unnecessary interest and late fees charged on the account

I am using this card for last 1 year
in the month of november my due amount was of Rs. 465. my due date is 1st or 2nd of every month, I paid my cheque on 21 november 2008, due date was 2 dec. they recieved the cheque and in the mean time i made purchase of 25000 + 5400, as my card limit is 32000, I can do that. but i got information from bank on 12 december which is also my due date that my cheque of Rs. 465 has bounced due to insufficient funds. I checked it with my bank, they said there is no cheque bounced in your account and too there is no cheque bounced of amount 465, moreover i was having Rs. 15000 balance in my account.
so in replied to ABN bank there there might be some mistake from your end so please send the cheque for clearence to my bank. then thet cheque got cleared but iwas levied with cheque bounce charges and late payment fees and interest charges. I called ABN and asked for reversal as this mistake is not from my end, there executive gave me reversal for late fees and cheque bounce fees but denied to give me reversal for interest charges. also she gave me email address to scan and mail the statement showing 15000 balance at the time cheque was bounced which was not even represented for payment at my bank.
they mailed me back that they cannot give me reversal for interest charges.
my total due after clearence of 465 Rs cheque was Approx Rs. 30397, but with inclusion of all these charges it crosed 32000 (my credit limit), so they levied me over limit charges as well.
next month i paid cheque of Rs. 30400 which was correct amount according to me, they recieved it and without even sending it for clearence which i checked with my bank, called me and send me letters that my cheque has bounced due to no memo attached, AND THAT TOO THREE TIMES.
I even recieved a recovery call from bank stating thet if you have taken credit from bank why are you not paying it, I said I want my cheque back so that I can check it with my bank that is there any fault in the cheque. but after that THE SAME cheque got cleared and I got this information from my bank manager that the cheque you were talking about has arrived, and they cleared it.
now till all these payment got updated i was levied with all these unnessary charges on my account which I have not paid yet.

I talked to one of team leader in Customer Care and narated the whole story, even she did not have the power to give me reversal for that. She was convinced that all these charges should not attach to my account but she said either mail your issue to cards services mailing adress or pay the charges as these are levied on my ccount i will have to pay it according to the bank and that team leader as she cannot do anything in it.

then last saturday on 14 Feb. I got a call that pay your amount due which is 300+, I sid did i get the reversal for interest charges, even then i am not supposed to pay anything, she replied that pay this amount then you will get reversal. next day i got the bill which showed Rs.4600 as outstanding which includes interest charges, late fees, and Tax.
there is no question of settlement as I have already paid more than what I am supposed to.

ABN AMRO Credit Card — Reward Card by forced

I am having a ABN Amro credit card, for which I had received the call from Delhi from a marketing guy for a reward card which will give 35% cash back + a trip to a 5star hotel around India. I need to pay 5000+ for that kit. After saying no to the marketing guy still they had sent me kit to my mailing add & now they are harassing me every day by calling to me that the Welcome Kit is send & to confirm me my address so that they can deliver me my welcome kit. After saying no to so many people, every day they keep calling me & try to frighten me that they will levy charges on my credit card next statement and I had to pay the amount. The lady named Neha had called me yesterday & was also trying to force the charge on me. Kindly look into this & revert to me on my mail ID ASAP.

ABN AMRO Bank Credit Card — Bad behaviour from by phone executive

I'm a ABN AMRO Bank Freedom card holder.I called on 11th Aug, 2009 (at around 1-30PM IST) from the USA to ABN AMRO- India-Kolkata number[protected], the by phone executive (Name Rakesh) responded the call. I had problem in understanding the 'ATM PIN' and 'secured code' functions, so I had asked twice or thrice. Suddenly, he (Rakesh) got irritated and said 'Yea pagal to nahi hai?(Am I talking with a mad?)'. Ref no of this talk-[protected]. I never expect such nonsense on the ABN AMRO executive seat. I hope the whole conversation is well recorded and hope ABN AMRO should take action on such non professional happenings.

As a human being we have the right to answer and talk as of our own sake. But people from your bank not allowing me to talk/ answer back to them to explain my side. they harrassing me in the phone and shouting, this is not humanitarian behavior. Yes, i have credit from your bank and i am paying that, as i can. I am not running for my obligation. I am facing that and you can check on your system sometimes, i was delayed to pay but the important is i am paying.
Why the people on your bank treating me like a criminal, tyhey can not talk slowly, even early in the morning or night while im sleepig rthey kept calling to my mobile.
It is good that even they are not in their duty time even they are in outside the work they are kept calling to the client. This is out of their jurisdiction of duty, they can call me if they are on duty. i can complaint this matter to the highest.
One more, they are asking more charges, late fees. i requested them to change my due date because this date its very difficult for me to cover my credit card payment., my salary come 1st week of the month. For your information, long time back im not using my credit card, and why i have always over limit of my statement of account, they are asking more more more charges how i can pay and finish this problem.
For this i am requesting from you to please investigate this people from your bank and i am expecting a good outcome for this complaint.
I need to go for installment plan to stop this killing situation for me.
Please do a needful.

ABN AMRO Bank Credit Card — unnecessary late payment charges & finance charge

i was using my credit card last no 3876 since few years. recently i've made some higher value transactions on it. i've droped my payment cheque as usual two days in advance of due date.
but for any reason they have reflacted that payment late in my account & on that basis they have charged me late payment, finance charges & service charges etc... i've calledup in customer care & asked them for the problem. but this time they refused to do any thing. i've told them to cancel my card & they have done so. now every month they are sending me the added all above mention charges reapetadly. & calls me to pay all these charges.

pls. guide me what to do??????

I am facing the similar problem. The bank has conned us by charging on some ICICI lombard without our knowledge and when asked, they say that its a negative response initiative driven. I should have called them and told them not to charge, while these [censored]s never sent the statements every month. I was supposed to call them and ask every month as to what is my billing amount and then pay it.

This bank looks like a fraud company, they don't have any vision or mission of the company, they just try to make small money by conning ppl. They call me once in a while and ask for the money they have charged me without my knowlege and the late fees attached to it. Somebody Suggest, can I drag them to consumer court for this.
