[Resolved]  ABN AMRO (RBS) Credit Card — Non-reversal o[censored]nauthorised charges

Dear Sir/Madam,

On 29th Sep 2007, my ABN Amro (now RBS Bank) credit card # [protected] was charged Rs. 4000 against "Free Flight fee" scheme without my consent, and the scheme was not availed by me. After receiving the statement, I lodged a complaint with the ABN Amro Bank stating that Rs. 4000 be credited back to my a/c immediately as I had not given consent for enrolling in the above scheme. After 3 statement cycle and no. of follow-ups, Rs.4000 was credited back to my a/c on 26th Dec'10. Since the total amount was not reversed, the total outstanding went up with each billing statement with the late fee, finance charges, etc. and since I had immediately stopped using the card after Rs 4000 was charged on 29th Sep'07, I had confirmed to the bank officials that I'll not be paying any amount arising out of the non-reversal of the Rs.4000 charged against the above scheme, which was not availed by me.
To my dismay, instead of reversing all my undue charges, the bank has put my case in CIBIL due to which I have suffered quite a few rejections for new credit card and loan applications in the last 4 years. I request RBI to take appropriate action against the bank and correct my credit rating immediately. Also due compensation be awarded to me as it has led to mental agony and trouble in getting my recent car loan.
I am attaching all the relevant statements for your reference.

Request please arrange to take appropriate action against the bank so that my credit rating is corrected.

ABN AMRO Bank Credit Card — Charged without consent

Dear Sir,

I would really appreciate if the problem i am facing can be solved with your intervention.
I am holding a Freedom Credit Card No. [protected] given by ABN AMRO BANK. Now the problem is 2-3 months earlier i was offered a holiday package from ABN sales executive, i clearly told them to send me brochure and then i will decide, so inspite of sending brochure they sent me next month statement with debit of Holiday package. Immediately on receiving the same i lodge a formal complaint whose Ref No. given to me is [protected]. Now every month they keep on charging late payment fees and service taxes over and over. So again i got Ref No. for my complaint i.e [protected]. After some days they made harrassment call to me that you have to pay the charges and i explained him that why should i pay the charges when i have not bought anything. But to no respite again and again these people keep calling me. On 16/11 i also spoken with their team leader Shrada Mam in Mumbai and the Ref No. she provided is[protected]. But till yet they have not reversed the full charges and continue sending statements and SMS's for due payment. Kindly help from these misleading , unsrupulous practices.
I hope by submitting complaint here my problem could be solved.

I have similar complaint. I received calls from Abn Amro call center, two months back regarding oriental express holiday package. At least 20 calls came in less than a week and after repeatedly denying the offer, the executive kept on calling and even used harsh tone. Last month a amount of Rs 5, 000 was charged in my statement (credit card no.[protected]). On 13th Dec 09( Sunday) morning I got a call from the phone no.+[protected], and asked to deposit approx Rs 6, 000 to clear the pending dues. When I tried to explain this fellow who said his name is Pradeep, he used foul language and even said, "Main jab chahun phone karunga aur aap mera khuch bigad nahin sakte." I want to ask Abn Amro's senior officials, If this the way they treat their customers and if they want to sell their packages in this manner? I am not going to pay a single penny as I have nt opted for the scheme and even have nt used the offer. I dont want to continue the card. If I receive similar call again, I ll lodge a formal police complaint.

This is w.r.t. to the card payment update for my ABN Amro credit card which has not been updated in CIBEL.

After several request the bank has sent a No due mail but the payments has been done 3 months back.

Credit Card — non reverse of charges

Due to wrong debit of Rs.400 /- ,ICICI CREDIT CARD DEPARTMENT HAD SEND ME THE SMS REGARDING THE REVERSAL OF Rs.400 /- for the wrong debit.but till today they did not reverse my charges.Inspite of they send me a lot of Penaulty Charges with Interest.Also block my credit card and send this details to CIBIL.

CIBIL also accept the entry from ICICI CREDIT CARD DEPARTMENT. Why CIBIL ACCEPT such entries without communicated to person whose credit lost .My question to CIBIL is that what is the procedure of Accepting such entries. Do u have any guidelines for this . Why CIBIL is not communicated to the Indivisual Person before enter his name . Has CIBIL knows what is happened with the Individual Person.Why CIBIL is not asking to the ICICI BANK CREDIT CARD department.Why the ICICI CARD not follows the committment given to Card Holder for Reversing the Charges.
This is the one way traffic from CIBIL. Before accepting such wrong credit information CIBIL must ask to Both Parties.

sorry to say that neither you will get refund nor they will cancel it.

Also they can prove that you agreed for free flight scheme.
I was also holding RBS credit card.

My suggestion is very simple --- get your CIBIL report from CIBIL website (It will cost you Rs 450)
In Cibil Report it is mentioned under STATUS
SUIT FILED/WILFUL DEFAULT
WRITEN OFF ATATUS --????????
WRITTEN OFF AMOUNT (TOTAL)
WRITTEN OFF AMOUNT (PRINCIPAL)
SETTLEMENT AMOUNT

Pay the default amount in full. Also talk to customer care to know the total amount balance.

4 years back i was having 6 credit cards but after getting so many credit cards I came to know
the problems with credit cards i cancelled my all credit cards except ICICI credit card.

Against each credit card DATE CLOSED is mentioned - It indicates that Now I do not have any relationship with those cards.

My credit score is 868 out of 900 (Which is toooooo good)
