[Resolved]  Airtel — Charged illegal charges

I have taken the corporate plan from Airtel and my number got activated on June 28,2013. At that time I was told by one of the Airtel representative that internet usage will be absolutely free for one month’s time. And now I have been charged approx. Rs 600 for internet usage. And the bill has been generated of approx. Rs. 724.42 only for 7 days till July 4,2013. And I am not at all liable to pay this amount as the fault is from Airtel side of making false commitment with the customer.

For the same, I spoke to one of Airtel's representative. He told me that Airtel will compensate Rs 300 of my bill. I would wish to continue using their services, only if they will waive off all of the internet charges that they have made to my bill else I’d prefer to go back to Idea network.

Also, for the next month as well, I received a message from Airtel on July 09,2013at 4:22 PM which states” Mobile internet usage for your Airtel mobile [protected] as on[protected] is approx. 23.59 MB. Charges applicable as per your usage are Rs 241.56”.

Also in month of June while coordinating for this connection, he told me that internet will be free of cost for one month’s time. So, as the number got activated, I was in that impression that internet is free till 28/07/2013 and that is why I kept using internet and suddenly on 09/07/2013 I got one message from Airtel for the amount that has been charged for internet usage. This is completely unacceptable.

While I got this connection, I was told that this would be a corporate connection, with a monthly rental of Rs 199, with 600 free sms per month and free internet. Post which I got my first bill which was unbelievable. I was happy with my prepaid connection and the only reason I agreed to take this post paid connection was to lower down my mobile expenses, however, it looks like am cheated with false promises after I had a word with the customer care department.

I am told that none of the above deals were a part of the plan I have opted for. Also, this isn't a corporate connection either. I do not have 600 sms, neither do I have free internet usage.
This is unacceptable from a reputated brand like Airtel fooling their customers with wrong and false promises. I would appreciate if a waiver can be raised to waive off the charges for the internet use as it was a wrong commitment made to me which I was totally unaware of.

Also i dropped an email to Airtel for the same but there is no response as yet. I have clearly stated to them that If this issue is not sorted out I am willing to approach the consumer court to fight for my rights but there is no way am paying for these illegal charges.

Keeping in mind the same, I would look forward for an appropriate assistance.

Airtel — Faulty Message Charges

I recently took a second Prepaid Airtel Connection(since my first got blocked because of address verification failing); the sim card falled within the FRIENDS scheme of the Airtel. Now my tariif told to me during the purchase of the card was Rs0.10 for Airtel network and Rs. 0.25 to other networks at all times...However, inspite of these charges i am being charged equally for Airtel and Other Networks at Rs. 0.25 at all times...Also when i make calls to Coustmer Care Executives, they just babble me about the happy hours timing and that have forwareded my complaint...But still nothings done... Is this what a name AIRTEL can provide to its coustomers?...If YES then shame on it...

Airtel Prepaid — illegal charging

i have been charged several times for downloading games, ringtones, screensavers etc which i never download nor i opened the airtellive page from where all these stuffs are downloaded.
i just use mobile internet on operamini to check my mails and orkut.
i made calls to customer care but instead of solving the problem
they forced me to accept that i have downloaded the same and in very rude manner said do whatever you want, we hav records...

can i get justice

Airtel — illigle charge

Dear all,
i have a mobile # [protected] of aitel . there are many charges deduct from my prepaid amount. i have never send any isd massage for any body but they have charged and i have stop miss call sms alert but they have charged many time. one interesting charge they take the charge of miss call tow typ. first they take on monthly mode and II they take on weekly mode finaly they deduct many five time in a month for missed call.
when i loged the complaint regarding this matter but there is no responce from their side and customer care exctive behavior is so badly for any perpaid card customer. they do not think we the customer of the company please resolve my query

I, Col RC Mehandroo, [protected] & Devi Mehandroo, [protected] from Ambala Cantt had opted for 1 paisa / sec scheme about 3 months back.After a recharge process we have been thrust upon the 50 paise/min scheme.Response of the local CC office does'nt inspire confidence.
Request intervene and have our original scheme activated without any penalty on us.

AirTel — Illegally charged

Hi my name is Sulabh Gupta ,I have some complaints regarding the AIRTEL services :
Yesterday I got a message from AD 54321 saying :
"Thanks for downloading ColinMcRaeDirt from Airtel,You have been charged Rs 99 ."
and when i see my account 99 rs have been deducted from my account .This is ridiculous ,i have'nt downloaded any thing but they have charged me and when i called on the customer care ,they put me on hold for 8-10 minutes and were charging 50 ps per minute .I am sorry but i am really pissed of with this

Also i have been getting messages from 55381 regarding some cricket news and they are charging me 1 rs per day .I haven't subscribed for this service .

When i googled these numbers i found that there has been a lot of similar complaints ...

Any airtel customer care person if reading please reply otherwise I have no problem in going to the consumer forum .....

AirTel — costs

People used to love Airtel...but now.....all my friends telling they are goin to change to vodafone and so on....the costs are so high now....recently....per day only 100 msgs? its highly ridiculous...how can people bear all the nonsense tats happening
this happnd to me too nw. i called the customer care n they r telling that only 100msgs per day is free in any sms pack plan in Maharashtra Airtel Service. Im using 67rs sms pack which has 15000 sms (local+National) free per month. so a sum of 500 msgs per day. But if i send a msg now it costs me 1.5rupees from main balance of the account. This is a serious issue because they are showing bogus plans by activating the 100msg per day across MH&Goa. Pls solve this issue.

Airtel — charging illegally

I am getting messages from AD-54321 like "Thanks for downloading Java Game from Airtel.You have been charged Rs.99 Get latest games at http://203.115.112.29/eagold/?source=od_alhome" even though i haven't download any game or click on any link.i am getting messages like this daily from 1/04/2011 charging me Rs.10/Rs.15/Rs.99 etc. even though i am not visiting such sites.Last month also they have charged me Rs.370+ for no reason and when i tried to contact through 121 service they were not able to get me satisfactory reply and asked me to call next day,and on the next day too same reply, and now in this month too i am charging for what i have never done,I think Airtel is cheating with me(my mobile number is [protected]).
Dude paisalive is fake
how much more time you need.Someone from your company who called me said that they will solve the dispute in 48 hrs.48 hrs has been passed away still no reply has come.Also 1 person who called me on 5th april 11:45 am said that my Rs.398 has been refunded in my next bill that also has not been refunded yet.
It hasn't been resolved yet the person who called me said he will contact me before 48 hrs of that call, but he haven't called me yet.Then how can you tell me that it is resolved?

Airtel — Fraudulent charges for mobile internet usage

I have been using airtel connection ([protected]) for more than a year now. Usually my bill comes to about Rs. 500 +/- 200. But last month I was shocked to see a bill of Rs. 2100. When I called customer care, they said I accessed net. I dont even have GPRS and dont surf from my mobile. They were charging me at a rate of about Re. 1 per kb, ie, about Rs. 1400 for a download of 1.4 MB!

(right now they are sending smses about a new scheme which lets you download upto 2 GB per month for Rs. 98. Does this make any sense?)

The customer care people say they cant do anything. I wrote to nodal office. They were supposed to get back in 3 days but havent responded.

I really want to pull out and go to another carrier, but take my phone number with me.

airtel /prepaid — illegal charging

my cell no is [protected]. On 26Jan12 I received a message from Airtel. The message had just a link. I clicked the link mistakenly. after that it opened the link and displayed: THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING THE SERVICE. YOU ARE CHARGED RS 30. They charged this amount without giving any intimation or confirming
about charges.

I tried to cancel it by calling callcenter. but rs 30 is deducted from my balance. No refund.
Airtel is minting money this way by making fool of its customers. Airtel's call center is not ready to reverse that charges.

I called the call center.. I was kept on hold for 5+ mins (for which I have to pay) and talked to them but all in vain. I incurred Rs5 on this call.
My complaint no is CBDOV[protected].
