[Resolved]  Airtel — Charging for unsubscribe VAS

I am subscriber of Bharti Airtel Postpaid mobile services from the last 8 months. From last 3-4 months I am getting charged for unauthorized VAS (Value Added Services). Each month they have been charging more than Rs 150, which is unauthorized. It looks like a scam. They claim that I have clicked some link, and just for clicking a link they charge Rs 50/99. I have been calling them and asking them to revert these charges. If the VAS charge is say Rs 150, they say that they can revert Rs 100, and they pocket the remaining Rs 50. This seems to be a well thought out stratergy to milk-out money from customers. Looking at the number of customers airtel have they could have made millions through this scam. I request you all to make customers/ TRAI aware of this scam.

Last month (Aug), I got frustrated with this and installed an application on my smartphone so that it blocks all internet access. I thought this could prevent any link being clicked without knowledge and hence getting charged by airtel. I was very happy that this application was working fine and I did nit click any links which could make money for airtel. However when I saw the bill I was horrified. They had charged me Rs 503.30 for VAS, which was 3 times higher than any previous month VAS charges!! though I had installed a filter application!! I complained to airtel call center about this and they registered a complaint numbered 45496276. After couple of days on 28th Aug, customer service lady called up and said I had actually downloaded something for which they are chargin Rs 503.30 I challenged them to prove this and I explained that I had installed a filter application to block this. Then they changed their game plan and said they can give back Rs 400 (its their same old tactic). I am fed up with and raising a complaint here.

Please help me.

AirTel — charging for unsubscribe services

my no is [protected]. we have been airtel customers for long years. but we have been facing the problem of being charged for the services we dont subscribe at all. we often get calls for additional services which we are not interested at all. still they keep calling. and above all many times we have been charged rental charges for those services and when we complain they show us deaf ears and dont refund the money also. they tell that they got confirmation from us. its impossible. coz this no. is bein used by my mom n she hardly knows anythin beyond receiving n making calls. we have other no. [protected]. even in that we have this problem. many times they themselves starts some service without our knowledge and then when we recharge they cut the rental charges. is this the way to provide the service that the customer's money is not valued at all. how come such a reputed service provider can be so mean in treating the customers. its not jst once or twice, it has occured many times. if the matter is not looked into at the earliest we will have to go for much worst steps. and probably we will b ashamed to b a customer of such a reputed service provider.

I COMMUNICATED WITH AIRTAIL MANY TIMES TO STOP VALUE ADDED SERVICES ON MY TWO MOBILES===NOS.[protected]&[protected] BUT AIRTAIL DID NOT GIVE ANY RESPONCE AND CONTINUED WITH VALUE ADDED SERVICES WITH ITS CHARGES AND CONTINUED WITH THE SAME AS IF AIRTAIL WANTS TO EAT UP PREPAID CHARGES PAID BY ME.-----PROF. ULAS JAMBHALE.

Airtel — charging money for unsubscribe services

I am being charged regularly by different services which are not activated by me. We are getting messages with the prefix AA- , robbing our money. There is no proper response from the customer care & no proper system to unsubscribe those unnecessary so called services. So, I Quit using this network & I am going to suggest all the people in my circle to LEAVE AIR-TEL to save them from this kind of loss. And you guys who see this complaint, please save yourselves and even your friends from this Robbery.

Thanks for replying for my complaint. There was a call from customer service today and they said they can revert Rs 250 instead of previously agreed Rs 400. Looks like Airtel is not learning any lesson and hell bent upon charging money one way or the other. I wanted the complete VAS charge to be reverted and now have complained to the Aitel Nodal Desk and they have agreed to revert the money. I am still not completely satisfied as Airtel has not agreed to stop charging for clicking links without any pop-up asking for confirmation. You need to take confirmation from us before charging us.
