Airtel Data Card — Worst speed

I bought airtel data card of 1800 and a plan of 999/- of 256kbps but i am only getting 3-5 kbps. I had not even thought that i will get that much speed its really hopeless internet connection. Could anyone make it correct or fine for me i will be thankful to them.

Airtel Data Card (internet connection) — Beware of Airtel-

Dear Sir,

I had taken Airtel data card internet connection on 11th of June 2008 vide connection no. [protected]. At the time of connection I was assured that there will be 256 kbps speed but I found it is not more than between 1 kbps to 9 kbps sometimes less than 1 or 0. I contacted several times Airtel customer care executives but nothing has been done.

Now I am trying to connect but it is showing error I contacted again Airtel customer care executive and he told me that my connection has been barred due to negataive address verification. In the comment they mentioned that my home was found locked. They visited my home 3 times on different time slots.

In fact, no body has come to my home. My family members are always remains at my home. Airtel people were having my mobile number and I was not called even a single time. How can they say like this when no body has come to my home.

Airtel has charged Rs. 3000/- from me for data card and activation charges but now it seems that I have been cheated and I have lost Rs. 3000/-.

Please suggest how can I get back my amount Rs. 3000/-

You are in a much better situation than me. I bought the 3G version at Rs. 3500/- which was supposed to give me 3.1 MBPS speed. However, I am getting the same speed as you are. That means 1/1000th of what I had paid for. Never thought Airtel could be this bad! This is beyond my imagination. All those who have not yet taken a connection please beware.
This is still ok. With me, I have been told 300Kbps speed and got 80Kbps. Plus, few sites are not available on Airtel gprs. Airtel has promiced 3G service, but its not yet released. It should give EDGE service, while only GPRS is provided. Which doesn't give speed as promiced/expected. After complaining for full one month, and getting "we can not help you" service, I stopped using my number. And now, I am getting regional manager's letter, then some legal notice from their lawyer. I didn't expect Airtel to give a very pathetic service and on top of that harass customer like this. I will suggest never go for Airtel's 3G data card service.
i m totaly agree...
the agent told me there will be the speed of minimum of 236 kb/s but i reciving only around 40-50 and i also had taken the unlimited pack of 999 (1130 approx)...which is really costly for me and when i did the complaints against the speed and want to return the devise they refuses to it back, ...
I m now bieng helpless...
I also agree. I have been complaining since January 2010 till now for airtel data card less speed issue.Every time they told me that within two days your problem will be resolved but no results yet. Airtel is worst.
