[Resolved] Airtel DTH HD — Malfunctioning Set Top Box | |||
I had a bought an Airtel Digital HD connection (Cust Id: [protected]) in June 2010. The Set top Box has started malfunctioning recently, the problem is the sound output vanishes often. I had registered a complaint and the technician visited today 22/7/2011 and said the set top has problems and needed to be changed. He replaced it with another old repaired set top box and said since the original box is out of warranty (one year period), I need to pay him Rs.1000 for the replacement. The warranty for the the replaced set would be 6 months and there is no guarantee that it will not conk-off after 6 months and I am expected to shell out 1000 bucks or may be more again. I therefore refused the replacement and the call has been closed from Airtel side. It seems Airtel cannot repair the set top box, nor have any AMC. This is blatant extortion deliberatly fabricated by Airtel as one does not have any other option (procuring something from the market). Was this information helpful? | |||
