[Resolved]  Airtel DTH Through Vriti, Gurgaon — Looks fake !

1. I wanted to adopt DTH for my Sony 40" 3D TV. While brooding over as to which Service Provider I should consider for the best service-Technical Quality/Best max. Pack/Real HD channels etc, the TOI report dated Aug.14th came quite handy which recommended Airtel DTH as the best among all DTH Service Providers. I decided to go in for Airtel DTH- South Ultra Pack & HD Set Top Box with recording facility.
2. Then I googled Airtel DTH website & registered myself.
3. I immediately got a call from one Mr.Tasdeeq Ahmed, Sales Advisor email id tasdeeq.[protected]@vriti-interactive.com .I had a serious of discussions/email exchange from 13th Sep to Sep 20, with M/S Tasdeeq Ahmed/Nadeem of vriti interactive.com. After these discussions & clarifications, I finally decided to go in for "south ultra' Pack. I was quoted Rs.7950/- for south ultra pack+DVD/DVR Set top box. Subsequently I was given Rs.150/-discount & Rs.250/-Cash back on Sep 20/- only if paid online. I was asked to make payment to http://connectindia.in/checkout.htm. Accordingly I paid through Net on sep. 20th.I got receipt of same. I was advised I will receive Id no & Ref No. I was also told I will get a phone call for installation & the installation would be done within 24 to 48 hrs.
4. I haven't got any phone call for installation/Ref.No/ID No even after 2 days. I tried to contact Mr.Tasdeeq Ahmed on phone no.[protected] & [protected] (the nos from which I was contacted by Mr.Ahmed till I made payment). First few phone calls used to get disconnected abruptly. Subsequently there was a message” there is no such phone no” My repeated EMs to Mr.Tasdeeq Ahmed didn't elicit any response.
5. I am appalled at the callous attitude of M/s Vriti interactive. This party, who were continuously pestering me till sep.20th for payment towards the pack/HD Set top box I had opted & till the actual payment was made, were not at all responding to phone calls/EMs made after payment.
6. When I googled to site"Airtel HD DTH Complaints & Reviews - Airtel HD DTH - Vriti interactive fraud”, I noted as to how many persons have been cheated & duped by vriti interactive/connect India.
7. Are these parties-Vriti interactive/connect India bonafide parties outsourced by Airtel DTH? Then why this callous attitude? It is badly tarnishing the fair image of Airtel.
8. How can AIRTEL, which is supposed to be such a popular/efficient/large entity, afford this negligence & unethical attitude? I sincerely hope I am not one of the enormous persons duped by these Agencies.
9. I seek your intervention. Kindly immediately respond to my this grievance & ensure that I am provided the promised service, payment for which has been made on 20/9/2011 : 12 month provision of South ultra pack+HD/DVD Set top Box/free installation+250/- cash back.
10. I am attaching the series of mail communication with the person from Vriti (Mr. Tasdeeq Ahmed) and also the payment confirmation mail which I recd. after making the online payment of Rs. 7800/-

AIRTEL DTH HD — Sorry state of affairs

Absolutely pathetic customer service!
I have been using Dish T.V for almost 5 years now and was extremely satisfied with their service I ade a big mistake by changing over to Airtel. I got a Airtel HD DTH connection when i bought a LCD television n 13th Aug from Vashi. On 18th August one representative from Airtel called me to activate my connection,by recharging for rs 750/-. I did the recharging and was told that my dish and STB would be installed asap. Cust ID [protected]. There started my problems, till the 22nd Aug nothing happened, despite me making umpteen calls to various people, including the rep who asked me to recharge initially and service center and even the service engineers. On 22nd, two guys called me and came to install my Dish, but no STB, they said since it was an HD connection , they didn't have STB in stock, on 23rd night around 10.00pm finally my STB was installed. I kept asking the guy what package would be activated, he didn't seem to know much, he made a few calls to the customer center and some channels were activated.To my surprise the package the activated was a rest of India package and not a South package that i wanted. (I learned this on 30th Aug). I then made numerous calls to call center and was advised that if I recharge for Rs 364/-,I would receive all the channels I wanted.I wasn't convinced so I called up again. Nothing happened even after speaking to a supervisor by the name Rahul, who had promised to change my package from ROI to South. I recharged for 365/- on Saturday the 28th August morning around 11.00am. I got an SMS stating that my channels would be activated in 45 minutes. No change took place till the evening, when I again called up to speak to a manager who promised to activate the service by 10.00pm. He said there were some technical errors. Next morning i,e on Sunday the 29th I was surprised to find most of the channels working except the Malayalam package. I again called up and spoke to an Agent named Sujatha, who asked me to call back after 5 hours to activate my Malayalam package, in between she also told me my balance had gone into the negative, but she will look into the same.I again made a call in the afternoon to speak and my call was cut, finally I was able to get through to a manager named Bikas, who promised to activate my Malayalam channels. In the meanwhile my Tamil package was deactivated, without any information. I have since made calls on the 30th Aug and 31st Aug and the only answer that i get is your balance in in negative, my question is why is nobody ever bothering to check with me as to what is the package I want and advise accordingly. Eve last night I spoke to a back end guy from bangalore , who promised to look into the matter and call me back. My wait continues..... I have decided to go back to my Dish T.V who have offered me Fantastic service for all these years. My advice to all on this forum, go for AIRTEL only if you want nightmarish customer service! AIRTEL SUCKS.. This will be my Last AIRTEL Product ever... The Dish and the STB this evening will go to my Garbage bin for sure...
• I was happy at Airtel's immediate response, as follows, to my complaint inserted in "Consumer Complaints: Indian Consumer Complaints Forum" on the same day of my complaint..

• I got a phone call promptly on Saturday, the 24th, from one of the staff members of Airtel, Delhi, conveying verbally my allotted ID No.& added that the installation would be positively affected immediately & at any cost, not later than Monday, the 26th.

• Today is Wednesday, the 28th.The installation has not been done. None from airtel have bothered to phone me up. At least, I expected a phone call from Airtel, explaining the reason for their not having installed on 24th & as to when Airtel would actually install. On the contrary, Airtel Delhi did not even respond to my repeated phone calls yesterday to the same No from which I had got a phone call on 24th.

• I thought only Airtel Franchisees M/S vriti - interactive & Connect India are unprofessional. Now, I find Airtel no better- belong to same unprofessional league. The three seem to be a cartel of giving all details, insisting on advance full payment, on line, & then once paid, just don't bother to receive phone calls, go on assuring that prompt action would be taken on installation & activation, but actually not taking any action. Airtel, take care only to insert their response against the consumers complaints in Consumer Forum. This is just a lip service to safeguard their reputation. They don't respond to the same grievance addressed to their official grievance id "[protected]@in.airtel.com". They are least bothered about their responsibility/obligations towards customers. Had I seen the enormous number of complaints against Airtel DTH in consumer forum before actual payment, I would never have decided to go in for Airtel DTH. Now, having-gone in for it, I am repenting .I am duped.

• I find Consumers have waited endlessly. For those who have followed up with repeated complaints, Airtel have given ref, No/Id No. After quite a no of follow ups, they have installed. Then consumer have been waiting endlessly for activation.

• This is the sorry state of affairs of a very big multinational, having international presence. Airtel should take into account, the fact, that they have become international only with Indian customers support & money.

• Now I doubt whether the person who phoned me on the 24th is really an Airtel staff or he too is a fake. The id no has been conveyed only verbally & not in writing by EM. There is no action for installation/ activation.

• I cannot go on repeatedly following up/ waiting endlessly for Airtel to act, as I want to enjoy DTH reception earliest. I thought I will enjoy Airtel DTH on 22ndh (within 24/48 hours as promised). Now, I feel I will never get Airtel DTH installed anytime, leave alone anytime in the immediate future.

• Now, I have decided to go in for an alternate DTH service provider & hope that they too would not be like the unprofessional Airtel.

• Is it too much to expect Airtel to reimburse me back the advance, full money paid of Rs, 7800/-?

• I am cautioning all persons wanting to go in for DTH- be very careful if you are deciding to go in for Airtel DTH!!
