Airtel — Illegal and Unethical Practice

Hi,

I am a user of Airtel DTH (HD) services. I have recently bought this connection. In the first month everything was fine, but from the 2nd month o[censored]sing the connection I am facing lots of issues. Details of the issue mentioned below.

I activated Set Max HD on my account after buying connection in May 2012. Then I recharged my account first time with 600 INR to continue with the Ultra pack which was given to me in my first month of subscription. Till 26-Jun-12 everything was going fine then suddenly my connection got suspended. I called customer care to check, and I came to know that by balance was not sufficient due to Active Set Max HD on my account for which I was charged 5 INR every day. Then I recharged my account on 28-Jun-12 and called customer care to check the status of set max HD and they informed me that this channel is Off-air since IPL is over, however I was charged for each day even while it was Off-air. How will I come to know that this channel is off air and I have to get it removed myself? Is it not simple understanding that the channels get removed or we are not charged from account if it is Off-air? More over why should I pay for services which was never given to me it is Illegal as well as unethical practice.

Also I myself is not liking to escalate or write emails for such issues related to something like cable TV. This is very frustrating and disappointing. Airtel is known for its customer service; however in this case it is worst that my local cable TV walah. I have lost complete trust in customer services, looking at my experience in last three days. At first I am charged for something which was never given to me, and then when I try to register complaint, the customer service representatives are fooling me by putting me on hold or disconnecting my call. Today on 28-Jun-12 between 30 mins duration between 06:30 AM to 07:00 Am IST, I called around 10 times and I was answered twice and somebody replied to me only once rest all calls were deliberately disconnected even without responding.

Need your attention to the concern and request for reversal of the amount charged on my account on set max HD for the period when it was Off-air.
