Excess DSL Billing
I am a subscriber of Airtel Landline No.[protected] since Nov 2007. I have a combo plan in which i use both voice and internet services.
Till my bill dated 24/10/07, i had no problems with my billing. My DSL statement details used to consume 3-6 pages. My usage was between 1.0-1.6 GB per month.
However in the Bill dated 24/11/07, my DSL details occupied only a quarter page instead of normal 3-6 pages whereas my usage pattern remained the same. But i didn't complained as my bill was within expected lines.
However in the Bill dated 24/01/08, i was charged for a whopping 5.4 GB of Internet usage which i had not done. Again the details were given in less than a quarter page against usual 3-6 pages. I complained to the Airtel 121 and they had my computer checked for virus etc. which they would not find. They insisted that there was nothing wrong with their billing and i was made to pay as i had no option as this number has been given to all my business circle. They asked me to keep a tab on my expenses by using the unbilled amount details from the website. I used to keep a check regularly on that every 3-4 days. Even on 9th Feb and i had checked and i had a DSL usage of 1155 MB app. till that date. Now when i received the Bill dated 14/02/08, the bill showed a whopping single usage of 3004 MB from 20th to 25th Jan and the usage as per bill till 9th Feb was 4160 MB which did not match with the unbilled amount shown in the website. This 3004 MB o[censored]sage was not shown in unbilled amount till the very end of billing cycle. I complained to Airtel, they again had my system checked for virus which they could not find and they again insisted that i was the one who was wrong and they would not adjust the bill. Please help me as i had not used that amount. Regarding the unbilled usage on net, they say that the amount was not showing properly as their server was down. If the seerver was down, it would not show at all, how would it miss one details??? Please help

I fully agree with your complaint Even i have experienced similar problems with airtel. i have got a broadband connection with 1gb limit. but initially for first two months their billing was normal. later in a span of 6 months gradually they increased it to 3 times. Dispite, my compliant about excess billing no solution was arrived and it continued. So i denied to pay the bill and disconnected the connection. Now i have been issued a notice from Lok-Adalat for a settlement.
Hi all, My name is Chetan Bansal and I m using Airtel land Phone since march'06 ([protected]). Additionally it has been 5 years since I m using a Airtel Corporate Connection and never faced a problem. But but the Lan Line Service is completely a pain in the ***. Every month I get hundereds of MBs of download on my bill which I never use and No one in the customer service has an answer for it. For instance my bill of April'07 there was a download that was showing on my bill for 618 MBs which I never did. I have repeatedly tried to contact the customer service but there is no response. I m yet wainting the day Airtel will educate there customer care executive about how to talk to a customer so that they can understand a customers problem.

For people with limited usage plans (such as 1gb or 2gb download + upload ), it is important that you change your DSL connection password once an airtel technician who visited your place or online on phone got to know of your password supposidly for some "issue resolution".. otherwise there are chances more usage may be done on your account...

Hi All even I too experience d same problem[protected]...for the past 3 months my DSL usage charges shot up like anything...Frankly I used to browse in d mrg hours to b4 4 months...But now since I got a job I rarely use net connection..Am really stunned coz of dis...How cud dey charge me excessive bill...Am confused..Don knw d solution..Help me !!!
Airtel is justified because because they lost track of who consumed how much of network, and they still need to charge their customers randomly to keep their national service going. Computers are crazy, funny things can happen when computers crash - someone will feel frsutrated, someone will charge someone a few extra bucks, someone will loose their hard work... :-)
Airtel guys do this and the unbilled usage feature on the site is bs!!! I too was a victim of this overbilling trick played by Airtel but then i realized it the hard way that even if i get an unlimited usage plan; my bill would be well within what i was paying with a limited usage plan.. i have switched to unlimited usage and let the computer download something or the other 24x7.. :)
You will not believe but i downloaded a whopping 87GB of data in 14 days with my unlimited plan.. Atleast i have got my revenge and have 2 desktops and 1 laptop connected to it always!!
I used airtel broadband and landline last year may, june and july. i have to shift to different location and i called customer care to disconnect it. they replied me that they are going to do it as soon as possible and gave me my request number. But nobody showed up even after one week. I called and called again but they replied me the same. so it's time to move for me and called them again and asking them if they can transafer it to my new location or not.they replied me and try to came to my new location and called me, they can't even find my new location and just said that we couldnot transfer to your new location. so i moved and just left everything including the handset, the modem in the house in case they came to disconnect it. It's been a long time now and even lost my request number in my old address recieved a letter from them and asked me to showed up in lok adalat. my due is not much since i never used them after july. What am i gonna do? since I;m from different state i dont speak the local language. I really need help.
I want to change my plan from limited to unlimited plan of rs.500 please change it soon & send message to my e-mail...


change it as soon as possible...
