Airtel — Pathetic Customer Service, Data Card Unreliable.. Showed 2GB usage during non-browsing hours.

I came back from shopping after 5 hours and disconnected my data card and it showed the usage is 2 GB. Nobody at home. The only application left open is outlook.
I do not download anything using this data card as it is does not have unlimited usage option. I purely took this for travel purpose to check my emails periodically. I have another beautiful internet connection at home with speed of 20Mbps.

I called the customer service and raised a question. They routed me to different departments (not a cold transfer had to call back every time). Customer service routed to billing dept, billing to technical, technical again to billing, billing again to technical dept. Nobody was willing to assist. Technical team said they will check and call back in hour and it is more than 20 days and I dint get anything on this. I don't know if in Airtel language 1 hour = ??

Called again after a week. Story repeated. Somebody even told me that it is a technical issue and will fix it in 2 days. Said "- Madam, The next usage message from airtel will show the actual usage". Waiting since 2 weeks, nothing has changed. I usually do not look at these messages as I am a limited user when it comes to datacard. But, I am curiously checking this message everyday to see if Airtel ever looked into my issue.

I was told that I have to wait until bill is generated to know why there was a usage. So, Is airtel expecting me to stop using their datacard for a month or so. Airtel is not technically equipped to tell what was the usage all about.

I am afraid to use this card as I do not know how the usage is calculated and if it ever goes wrong, Airtel does not have an answer until bill is generated. Not sure, if they will have an answer even after bill is generated.

BTW, in between, I sent an email to Airtel. Nobody ever got back.

Another story - Address verification. It's been over 3 months and the residence address verification is not done. They once deactivated the services and when I called back, they said address verification for your home address is not done. Well, I fixed an appointment, postponed all my plans and waited, nobody turned up. I called back two more times and fixed appointment. Same story. Address verification still not done.

Can I ever trust airtel datacard again. This is the pathetic and I definitely do not recommend Airtel broadband to any of my colleagues. This is a corporate connection.
