[Resolved]  Apc Ups — Disgusting Product and Pathetic Service

Never Buy an APC Ups unless you are willing to experience nightmares

I had the most disgusting experience with APC. I purchased an APC UPS (Model: BR500CI-IN Back-Ups Rs 500; Serial Number: BB[protected] )in Secunderabad in February 2009. For about 5 months, the UPS worked y fine. After that began my woes. When I was in the middle of some important work, the UPS would start beeping though there’s power supply in the house. Before I could switch off the machine, the UPS would get discharged fully and all the data I was working on used to vanish.

After I lodged my complaints, Kasturi Reddy (the online customer care executive) has sent in their service engineers to replace the unit. To my surprise, I have noticed the engineers lacked proper training and had hardly any manners. They were carrying the replacement units by holding the cable (imagine the damage that can be done to the unit weighing about 5 KGs if handled this way). They were blunt and fit for nothing. Though I got my brand new unit replaced with a new one, this time my happiness lasted for just two days as the replaced unit also developed the same problem. In the middle of the night when I was working on something imp, the unit would get discharged though there’s intermittent power supply. When I wrote to the company, they said they would send a replacement again. To my utter disgust and displeasure the replaced unit (for the second time) also worked for just two days and gave in. On the whole, without looking into what the problem is, APC replaced my UPS twice (plz note the replaced units are new).
All my mails to the company to replace the defective model with a better one fell on the deaf ears of APC customer care in India. I have posted more than a dozen messages on the APC site. All they know is to blurt out the pre-written mails. When I was raising so many issues in the mails, they hardly bothered to respond to the same and would say “ I hope t that I have addressed all of your concerns. If not or if you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by responding back through this incident. It would be my pleasure to ensure that your issue is quickly resolved! Thank you for choosing APC!” This is so sickening!

Before choosing APC, I used to have an Indian-made UPS that worked perfect for 4 years. I heard great things about APC and coughed up nearly Rs 2000 though I could have got the same type of Indian UPS for Rs 1300. Even after a dozen mails, my problem remains unsolved. The most pathetic thing is no one takes ownership in APC and they just suggest you to contact someone else. This is sheer negligence and we can only pity these people whose skin is so thick that it could put pachyderms to shame. I was willing to pay the extra money and swap my UPS for a better model but the company is not willing to do so. All they know is how to fleece innocent customers like us. These people are just shameless and never value their customers.

While I suggest you to spread the word about the pathetic customer service of APC, I request likeminded people to come together so that we can file a case against APC for not recalling the defective units. This is the only way we can bring them down on their knees and ensure that they do not go scot-free by launching defective UPS models in the market.

We have purchased the UPS (APC Make, 3 KVA, line interactive UPS, Mode No-SUA 3000 UXI & Four 12v/26AH Rocket make batteries in the month of January our invoice no. is 09-10/0541. now we are facing the problem in UPS it is not working, We are working continuously on computers and due to this problem our work is suddenly get disturbed
now it is in OFF condition and not working so please note down this Complaint and pls provide the proper service to this problem as immediate as possible.
We are waiting for your positive response.

I purchased APC UPS (H1800SQ) on February 23, 2010, and it worked well only for a day or 2, and then started to develop a problem and stopped working. I lodged a complaint to Customer Care on February 28, 2010, and a person from the service center came to look into the problem on March 3, 2010, and told that there was a problem with the PCB board and will be replaced in 2 days' time, but did not. Then waiting for a day or 2, called the Customer Care service and they said that they will rectify the problem in a day, which did not happen, and this story is still continuing till date, and whenever, I call them, they tell that it will be rectified by today evening before 6 o'clock, and nobody turns up, and they make us wait on the phone for 15-20 minutes to give the reply. This is not a solution to lighting, but giving trouble and sleepless nights after coughing up a huge amount of money. The dealer now tells that this product's battery lasts only for 2 years, but sells them and the APC guys who are all involved are only behind money and nothing else. Please do not purchase any of APC's products.

we have Facing problem in our 5 Kva ups Model no SURT 5000UXi, we already Give AMC to Your Service support dealer M/s Choice Solution Of NOIDA, They Came & solve the problem at that time but the problem comes again after period of time. we have lost our Date & users are suffered

so pl take some action
