[Resolved] Batra Hospital — Wrong Discharge Summary
I want to bring in your notice that i admitted my baby in Batra hospital for the Open Heart Surgery.
I had a medical insurance cover and during admission only i opted for cashless operation cover. The pre intimation insurance claim form was filled up by the diagnosing doctor Dr. Viresh Mahajan and Der. Anil Bhan mentioning the type of operation and the treatment. Based on this i got my approval from the TPA Insurance Company "E-Meditek" initially for the 1 Lakh. I had the insurance cover of around 2L which was told me that will be settled during the final bill settlement. I was told by the doctors initially that the expenditure will be around 1.75 L but i was shocked that my final bill was settled around 2.35L. Anyways i thought most of the amount may be getting settled via insurance. But to my utmost shock and harassment i came to know that my entire approval was rejected by the insurance company. The fax said that the claim cannot be judged at this time due to some additional defects and treatments in the discharge summary. So i even lost the approval of 1L and hospital refused to discharge my patient.
Now first of all based on their mistake in the discharge summary i even could not discharge my baby as i did not had the required full amount. I had to take some money from my friends and relatives and based on such a short notice arranged the money to get my baby discharged. later on further investigations i found that the discharge summary was incorrect and was prepared incorrectly by pasting the data from some other patients history . This is totally a very big mistake and i want the hospital to pay for it to make them realise the mistake. During the course of treatment i found the hospital and the doctors totally money minded and least bothered about the patients. It is just by the grace of GOD that my baby got discharged safely. In fact we were even scolded for asking about the condition of the baby. I hope it is my right to information for knowing each and every details during the treatment.
