[Resolved]  Casa Retreat — Cheating

I have paid casa Rs 28,000 for the ‘vacation’ package.

I recently had been on my third ‘vacation’ thru casa. The booking was made at hotel Ginger at Pondicherry. When I went to casa office to collect the voucher, I was told by Mr. Ravi said the breakfast is compulsory and I need to pay Rs 560 per day for this as per the hotels CP package. This apart from the ‘peak season’ fee of Rs 350 per day and registration of Rs 350 all adding up to Rs 3,080. I was told by Mr Ravi that the hotel rate is Rs 3,990 (rack rate).

At the hotel, I asked the manager there and he confirmed the daily room rent is Rs 1899 inclusive of a complimentary breakfast. No one will ever pay the rack rate of Rs. 3,990 per day (these are only published rates). Also there is no CP package as mentioned by casa that the hotel is aware of - in fact the front office had no idea as to what the Rs 3,080 that I paid while checking in, composed of - they only know that I had to pay half the amount of the total room rent.

So in reality, I paid around Rs 7,700 for a 3 day stay in Ginger Pondicherry for which I would have actually paid only Rs 5,700 (had I done the booking myself).

Leave aside any benefit of being a casa member, there is only monetary loss and mental agony that you get from them.

I have sent the above details to casa and they have not responded; I tried calling them and as usual no one answers the phone. I have asked for my money back for the remaining three ‘vacations’ since I cannot go through this mental agony again.
