[Resolved]  Chief Commercial Manager, Southern Railway Chennai — Refund of amount for waitlisted ticket on which journey was not performed

I am working in ISRO as Scientist-SC, I had booked a ticket from Hassan to H. Nizamuddin for two persons for myself and my pregnant wife viz PNR NO.[protected]ticket number 29620508 for the date 24/10/2008, as it was in waiting list so i had booked one more ticket from chennai to chakki bank for same 2 persons, the first ticket couldn't be confirmed so i decided to travel to chennai to perform onward journey on 26/10/2008 by Andaman Express as i couldn't take risk with my pregnant wife.So I handed over the ticket in chennai central railway station and obtained TDR(No 279493) which I sent to the concerned Chief Commercial Manager by registered post on 29/10/2008, but till now I have not receivedany response from the concerned official, I request the concerned official to look into the matter

With due respects, this has reference to the above cited subject, please find herewith enclosed statment (document) for your kind attention and necessary

A ticket was booked for two passengers to travel 25.04.2010 from Chennai to Bhopal by Rajadhani Express, Train No. 2433 by paying Rs. 3310. PNR No.[protected] and the status was wait list. A photo copy of the ticket is attached for ready reference

25th April 2010
But the passengers could not travel as the waitlists were not confirmed.


10th May 2010
Later it was applied to the Chief Commercial Manager, Tiruchirapalli requesting for refund of the ticket amount. Subsequently, an advise was sent to me stating that the pay order settled vide pay order bearing No. 012082 Dtd 23.6.2010 (photo copy of the same was enclosed).


14th July 2010
Later an advice PMR No.: 1038 dt.14.7.2010 along with cheque No. 769310 dated 14.7.2010 for Rs. 2953/- was sent to me. (Copy of the same was enclosed)


25th July 2010
The cheque for Rs. 2953/- was in my bank and it was retuned on the plea that the authenticated signatures on the cheque was not tallied


30th July 2010
Therefore, the original cheque was sent back to them by speed post and requested them to send a fresh cheque at an early date.

ACTUALLY THE PROBLEM STARTED HERE


14th Sept. 2010
Since it is more than a month now and they have not sent any revised cheque to me so far. Consequently written a mail to the Financial and Chief Accounts Officer – Cash & Pay, Chennai and a copy to the Chief Commercial Manager’s Office, Tiruchurapalli. A. copy of the same was enclosed for your reference please.

I also mentioned them on request if I could not get the revised cheque at an early date then I will be constrained to approach the Consumers Forum in this respect.
