CITIfinancial India — Unwarranted Telephonic Intrusion

This is to bring to the notice of competent authority unwarranted and illegal behaviour on the part of the organisation, CitiFinancial India. I have been receiving unwarranted telephone calls on my mobile (+[protected] for the past 6 to 8 months from one of their contracted collection agencies (details of the individual and the telephone number mentioned below) for a what matter completely unconnected to me.

Their collection agency has been trying to reach one Mr. Palwinder Singh - of whom I have no knowledge and with whom I am not associated in any manner whatsoever - who seems to have taken from CitiFinancial India some financial assistance. I have repeatedly told the individual(s) - there have been many associates from the collection agency with whom I have spoken - that this number doesn't belong to Mr. Palwinder Singh and never has in the past. This number was originally issued to me from the service provider and I have been using the same for the past 4 to 5 years.

However, the collection agency doesn't seem to register this request. They have been constantly following-up, indeed very much unnecessarily and much to my discomfort, for something I have clarified many times. One can imagine how disturbing and negatively impacting to general demeanour of an individual can receiving unwanted calls get. I now seem to recognise most of the numbers and tend to avoid the calls, however, the agency seems to have started using different numbers. Over the past 2 months, one Mr. Himanshu Singh, calling up from number +[protected], has been very rude, extremely unprofessional and brusque in his enquiry.I find it extremely appalling that any organisation hires such individuals who have no sense of dignity, deceny and professionalism. This behaviour on part of the organisation, CitiFinancial India, is unwarranted and illegal, condemnable by the law with punitive action.

My patience has been thoroughly tested with this matter as this been continuing for an extraordinarily long period of time. I have lodged a complaint with the organisation's customer care department today (reference number: 3554507, attended by one Ms. Aarti in the afternoon of 19th January 2010, at 12:30 p.m.). I have mentioned all of the above content in that complaint as well.

CitiFinancial India is strongly advised to take-up this matter internally and see to it that this serious and severe harassment stops with immediate effect. NO MORE CALLS from them or their associated organisations in this connection.

I sincerely hope this request doesn't go unnoticed.

The Citi bank and their associates are known for unsolicited sales calls and such unprofessional behavior in India and South America.

They are the one who have brought such culture to India in banking & finance sector; and is being followed by a few other banks like ICICI Bank.

In order to prevent sales call, the first step is to register your all your phone numbers on TRAI "Do Not Call" directory.
Please go to the police and log a complaint and visit nearest citi corp office with a legal letter about this issue from a advocate.
