[Resolved]  compaq presario v3000 — Poor performance and worst after sales service

I bought my Compaq Presario V3000 laptop on 16th December, 2006 (laptop serial no. 2CE6430HYK) in Pune. It is surprising to note how many problems I have faced with the laptop in such a short span of time. It is even sadder to state that the HP after-sales service has been of little help. HP's service centre "Aargee Systems" located at Sadashiv Peth, Tilak road, Pune presents the worst example of customer support and after sales service.
1. On 8th August, 2007 the hard disk of my laptop showed a failure. I submitted it in Aargee Systems on 9th August with the token no. 17809. I received my laptop back on 14th August. I found to my surprise that the OS had not been loaded on my laptop when, after the replacement of hard disk, it should have been their duty to load it.
2. After 2 days of "hard disk replacement" the "new" hard disk again showed a failure! I had to submit my laptop again. This time my token no. was 18212. I received my laptop back after a no. of days and this time the problem seems to have been fixed.
3. On 17th September, the LCD of my laptop started showing problems. I submitted the laptop again in Aargee Systems on 18th September with the token no. 19005. I received my laptop back on 1st October with the LCD replaced. Yesterday, on the 21st of October, the LCD of my laptop again went blank just after 20 days of getting it back from the service centre!
4. Along with the LCD replacement, I had also lodged a complaint regarding the CD/DVD drive which faced problems in reading and writing CDs and DVDs. I was told that the CD drive was replaced but the problem still persists.
I am a student and I cannot keep running with my laptop to the service centre every other day. The service centre is far from my hostel and not only does it cost me a lot of money to make the frequent trips to the service centre but it also causes me a lot of mental strain. I need the laptop for my studies but continuously persisting problems means that the laptop has been of little help. It is surprising that the laptop has shown so many problems in such a short span especially since yours is such a big name in this segment.
I demand immediate attention from the authorities concerned in this regard. There seems to be a major fault with my laptop itself and I believe there is a valid reason for HP to replace my laptop.

Friends, I got a call from HP after I lodged an online complaint with them. Hope the problem is fixed now.

Compaq v3000 Laptop — Not getting my defective battery replaced by service station

hi sir,
I purchesed compaq V3149AU in may2007.its battery backup is not good,its battery backup is less than 50minute.
its not burns all the dvd's exept sony.HP care center technics told that reinstall burning software(nero7) or change versions of burning
software(nero6),i tried infront of them but its not worked.before 2week mother board problem occured,then replaced motherboard.but problem is
they not giving proper also i'm in problem by backup of battery and DVD drive.
I have the same problem, I bought Compaq 3155 AU in feb 2007 from Nehru Palace, dehli it worked fine for 8 months and then having issues with the display. I have given it to HP service center in Pune and got the moterhboard and processor replaced. HP service center service really pissed me off, I have to escalate the issue a number of times.
Now, I am in UK and after completion of 1 one and my warrenty is gone the product shows same errors.
Really a bad product !! In UK they don't even sell and support Compaq Pre. 3155 AU

I have compaq presario v3000 having service pack v3155au suffering from no display & dead..
since last two months.
I have gone to ur service station five times but still my problem is not getting solved.
Every time i go they will replace some part n tell now it is ok but within few days the problem reoccurs.
i have got motherboard changed three times & one time display in your hp service station but now also i have got same problem again.
This time also they are replacing the motherboard but how many times do i have to get it changed.
Now i am fad up of your laptop, because every tenth day problem comes back.
Now i want to replace my laptop.
So this time i want clear result or else i dont want your product n plz if it is due to amd processor and its heat in the indian conditions then plz dont introduce such products in india.
I am waiting for a good reply from your side with clear conclusion as i have heard about your hp service...
Will my laptop be replaced it has been oh hell of an experience with compaq

y do they intorduce such laptops which dont work, ...the laptop's motherboard fired up 4 times...
They Should be done naked and and a hot iron rod shall be inserted in their .
These are just playing with students money...even my mother board has been replaced many times and still it is not working.
My Life has been ruined due them...A strict Action shoul be taken and the Problem should be solved.

Compaq laptop — Hell lot of problem

I have the same problem, I bought Compaq 3155 AU. Its serial no. is 2CE7043126 and P/N is RQ103PA#ACJ. It worked fine for 5 months and then having issues with the display(blue lined screen and laptop hanged). I have given it to HP service center in Jammu and got the motherboard and processor replaced but still my problem is not getting solved.
Every time i go they will replace some part n tell now it is ok but within few days the problem reoccurs.Now i am fedup of your laptop, because every tenth day problem comes back.
Now i want to replace my laptop.
So this time i want clear result or else i dont want your product n plz if it is due to AMD processor and its heat in the indian conditions.I am waiting for a reply from your side.
I fully agree. I have a Compaq Presario V 3000. I think we were cheated. Its performance is very poor. Heat up very fast and even to open a web browser like IE it takes ages. So is the case opening word or power point. And even the no to customer care is not working. Nobody picks the call. Its pathetic.
I bought a Compaq Presario CQ40-327TU Laptop on 11th March 2009 from MicroCare Computer Resources - Visakhapatnam for Rs.36, 534/- vide s/n:CND9072DRH and p/n:NL050PA#ACJ.Within this year, the so called laptop gave me trouble four times, once with Key Board, 2nd time with Mother Board, 3rd time with Battery charger now with Battery and CD Drive. I am a Development Consultant working with poor, invested money with hard work. During November 2009, mother board did not work and the service people took a lot of time for the repaire. That time I was supposed to go to South Africa with the so mentioned laptop of your great company but had to go without it and left for my international tour. Now a days, it is like a 2nd life partner and without that no work is done effectively. Although my friends suggested other brands but I bought this troubled product (evergreen)from your company. And at the same time, other brands their services are very prompt and they replace the system also. I lost so much time as well as money by using the troubled compaq laptop. With the given facts, how the company can solve the problems like compensating the customer’s time and money? The last date for one year warranty lapses by 11th March, 2010 and please let me know immediately.
