[Resolved]  Croma The Electronis Store — "FRAUD". Croma sold a used laptop for the price of a new one.

This is to bring to your notice the most pathetic event of” theft” by the brand named CROMA. This brand is managed & run by TATA group. The name itself commands respect. But after the hell it made us go through…. We’ve lost all respect & trust in this brand.

We purchased a brand new laptop from Croma. The bill details are as follows: HP pavilion NB DV61161Tx40cm, SR no: CNF9262Q4B. Bill no: 10681803. After using it for a week the screen (display) started flickering. We called up HP service centre to get guidelines as to why a brand new laptop is behaving in a weird manner.

HP service centre has a regular procedure of collecting the serial number & subsequent data of the brand new laptop. We gave them the serial number & other details. Now this is where the shock value truly kicks in. HP service centre informed us that a complaint was already launched in the month of August for the same serial number. Then as things started to become a little clear, we understood that CROMA had sold us an already used laptop. That it was a refurbished piece. And CROMA had the audacity to sell a refurbished piece for the price of a brand new one. We were in complete shock as the brand we trusted over the years came tumbling down on its reputation & service. CROMA is a thief. CROMA performed a fraud with us.

We brought the matter to people at CROMA Phoenix Mills. They have no proper floor managers or seniors present within the store at any point of the day. So we had to repeat this story of fraud to at least 4 people (Croma Employees). It was Mr. Naik (Supposed floor manager), Mr. Mukesh Gupta (The original fraud, who sold us the laptop in the first place), Mr.Sandeep (the manager above the floor manager. Which I doubt as they were all in the same uniform & Sandeep’s I card was missing). After reciting the incident to all of the above mentioned people, They took an hour to cross check whatever they had to. Then they got back to us saying that it was their mistake. They asked us to take another laptop of the same model number. We agreed to that. Then they got back to me saying that, that particular model was now no longer in production. So we demanded another laptop of a higher value. They said that they could not give us that, unless we pay the difference. Then Mr. Sandeep tried to buy us out by saying that he’ll give us “free gifts”. That we obviously declined. I was there to buy a Laptop, not get stupid free gifts from CROMA. After trying to convince us for over 2 hrs, he finally decided to give up & give us the higher value laptop. He decided to cut the difference from Mr. Mukesh Gupta’s salary.
After which he again tried to reason with us, saying that his salary was not much & if we could reconsider the “Free Gifts” option. We finally lost our temper & told him firmly that we were not interested in any other compensations whatsoever. So finally he agreed to replace the already sold & then resold to us laptop.
So the basic fraud remains that CROMA sold us a refurbished laptop. Staging it to be a brand new one. This really freaks us out. A store like CROMA conning people like this, it makes us question the integrity & true purpose of this store.

croma group is excellent but there r some employees who resort to diffrerent kind of frauds due to which croma has to bear that... even i had faced a problem with their team member i guess he was in higher level . his name was jiten manghnani... bcos of these guys the company is loosin its name ... such people have to be thrown of the company...
I have been cheated with Croma brand pretened to be a microwoven. it is metal box
I also purchased laptop DELL 5570 just before 2 days and come to know that It is refurbished and had only 7 month warranty remain.

Pl help how to take legal action for the same.
