Dell India Pvt. Ltd. / Inspiron 5400 Laptop — Not getting service within Warranty | |
I had purchased one Laptop model no. Inspiron 5400 from Dell India Pvt. Ltd.- though online on 18th May'2007. During this purchase I had also taken two years extended warranty for this. Since last 15-20 days, I am having problem that 3-4 keys (like C,D,E,3) are not getting typed and when it is typing, it is typing 20-30 times at once. I had called many times the Dell toll free number. First they tried to rectify by advising me to do certain things over phoneand it was rectified. Next day the problem reoccurred. I called again and they told me that it is software problem and I need to reload my Operating System (Windoxs XP). When I reloaded the OS Windows XP, the problem continued. Than I called them and they told me to open the key board and re fix it. After doing this it started typing normally and I though the problem was in Keyboad hardware and it was loose. But next the problem started again. I again called yesterday and now they are saying it is software problem and I need to reload the Operating System again. This is creating lot of problem as it takes lot of time to reload OS and to load all drivers. I had already reloaded the Operation System and it has not given any solution. They are simply trying not to take responsibility and repair/replace the keyboard, which they should do under warranty. My Service Tag no. is G59WP1S, ID is 1136751 and Customer Code no. is 209446. I will be obliged if you can take some action against them as I had paid lot of money not only for hardware but also for extended warranty.
