[Resolved]  Dell, Insp 5110 Laptop — Poor technical service and supply of low quality product

I am a customer of Dell laptop, model no Insp5110. I bought a Dell laptop, and it is on 25th of this month I opened the carton box and used it for the first time. I am from India, kerala, ernakulam , cohin for those who want to trace out my location. I bought the computer from abroad which was before 2 months. As I mentioned I used the laptop this 25th only. However at first everything was running smooth and safe. I used it for the first time and was satisfied. I kept it for charging and had a good night sleep. The next day as every1 i was excited to use the laptop and try to On it. But no matter what I did the laptop was not turning On. When I tried to charge the battery again the battery charging indicator LED was On for sometime and was off after a bit. I tried unplugging and pluging the adapter and change the battery and tried to switch on... But nothing worked for me.

The next thing I did was to take it to the nearby Dell service Centre, and here is the result :

Voltage Fluctuation.. I have to provide Dell a sum of another 1364 rs as their Service charge becoz the Laptop is from abroad. I am Irritated nw. I tried to Contact Dell via chat and e-mail and surprised to know that "DELL IS ONLY INTRESTED TO SELL THEIR PRODUCTS AND THEY CARE LESS FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS".

This can be considered as a questionaire too. That I have some questions to Ask

1. What is the function of so called 'Adapter' provided along with the Laptop??
I have no Voltage Fluctuation issues at my home, and no products are affected before. If I had any Voltage issues, the Adapter would have maitained it. If the voltage fluctuation is that bad, the first thing to get damaged was the adapter itsely.. But it is working fine. That's my point no 1.

2. If Dell is saying that voltage fluctuations could easily damage their products, why won't they tell the customer's while selling the product, to Use a UPS or Invertor and take those with them everywhere they go??????

3. My Dell's product is nw in due to change it's motherboard as a Dell service centre executive's instruction and what the Hell... A motherboard for a Single use???? I don't know.

4. I would have felt better if atleast i could have a word with the Dell associate, Bt Service is somewhat The TERRIBLEST of 'em all.

Nw, I can use my Laptop as a Demo unless I spend 1400 Rs and change the motherboard and then use it as a 2nd Hand Laptop.

DELL — Poor quality products

Hi,
I've purchased a Dell laptop(inspiron model) and i feel that these are very very poor in quality and does not give much satisfaction, I have a problem in my laptop from the day one and cusotomer care is least bothered to resolve the issue. they only assist us over phone in case of OS re instatllation. they send a engineer in case of part replacements, and i find they are not much skilled to do. Laptop is a sensitive item and it requires lot of care while handling which does not see in their engineers. I suggest every one not to buy " Dell Laptops ".
can u please mention wat problems u r facing ?

DELL — LOW BATTERY,TECHNICAL PROBLEMS

Subject : Request for replacing of dell inspiron which was purchased on 26 – 06- 2010


On the 26th of June 2010 , I had purchased Dell Inspion from a Computer warehouse MG road , Banglore. The level of battery is very poor, when we approched the dell Company in Domloor they changed the battery and handovered the laptop saying it is fixed. I regret to inform you that after changing the battery & after 12 hours of continous charging like mentioned in the manual its battery condition is very poor , as it only gives me an hour even after hours of charging . I request you to replace the laptop given to me at the earliest.
I belived that your company provides quality service to the customersC and gives each customer its care and attention. I request you to take an immidiate action.
I have attached the bill that was provided to me after the purchase of Dell Inspiron from the respective dealer mentioned above.
Looking forward for a favourbale response.

My cousin bought a Dell Notebook from Singapore in 2008 and presented it to me. Within 6 months, the network card burnt out . I made a complaint to customer care and they just asked me the tag number. There was no fuss just because it was bought in Singapore. They said they are sending a service engineer with the spare part within 2 days. Mind you, I was about 50 Kms away from Chenglepat, away from civilization, in a garments factory . But the service engineer came searching for me and immediately repaired the notebook free of cost. Within the next month, due to some reason, the hard drive crashed. I contacted customer care again. within 2 days, I got a brand new hard drive installed - again free of cost. Just before my warranty period expired, the keyboard malfunctioned - and they replaced it with a new keyboard. After this, my Dell has been operating flawlessly for the last 3 years. I am very happy with Dell Customer Care, and I am surprised with your experience !

Dell Laptop — POOR PRODUCT

I had purchased a Dell Inspiron 15r Laptop in August 2010. The laptop is an additional set purchased solely for home use. I basically use office laptop [old HCL model]. While the office laptop is utilized for very long hours and is carried to and fro from residence TO office, the Dell laptop is sparingly used. However to my utter disbelief the Dell Inspiron developed trouble in the 14th month and when taken to the DELL service centre at Kolkata, it was found that the hard disc had crashed!! And since the expiry date had expired, which went unnoticed, I had to shell our Rs.16,000/-, for replacement and one year’s warranty. A hefty amount by any standard, which translates to around 40% of the initial price!!! On top of that, now the laptop has slowed down considerably. Incidentally the office laptop is 6 years old and not even for a single day any mechanic has touched the set.
Upon enquiry I have learnt that there are indeed large numbers of complaints against this set and there are several instances of hard disc getting crashed. Is this the reasons for the Company’s frequent advertisements of this model/series, which I can only assume that the Co want to push up the sales before the public at large get to know the truth. I must say that I am greatly dissatisfied with the product and feel cheated by DELL.

It is a matter of great concern that on dated 03.01.2012, I have purchased your Laptop ( Tag No. BGC1BR1) vide Invoice No. : 3823 dated 03.01.2012 from M/S Achates System ,Bishan Saroop Colony ,Panipat , Haryana ,India.

Sorry to mention that within a period of one month, it has failed to give satisfactory service. Whenever, any key of the “Key board” is pressed, it makes a noise ( From speaker side) hence difficulty to use.

Under the above circumstances, I would prefer to get its replacement with a new Laptop instead of repairing it to avoid any problem in future. This kind of service will maintain the creditability of your concern for which is known in the market.

I hope you will take an early action in the matter so that my grievance is resolved at the earliest.

DELL — Poor Quality products and Customer care Service

I had purchased Dell XCD35 in July 2011. Only in ten months it has stopped functioning. It got hanged and is not even starting.

On contacting Customer Care number, (which I found busy for 7 hours since morning), they keep on transferring the call to another person, which is really annoying. On contacting the dealer (Kalptaru Mobile Store, Surat) he asked me to contact the Dell Service Center. On contacting the service center, they said they have no idea about what to do with it and will have to send the handset to the company and I have to wait for a month to get the handset back. The company does not have the provision of giving an alternate handset to its customers, not even when their own company's handset doesn't work properly.
You can't expect all people to carry or buy more than one mobile.

Both the dealer and the Service Center did not even care to give a proper response or solution for the problem. Dell, being a reputed company, is not expected to employ such persons who can not even tell what the problem is, and don't even know how to talk to the customer.

I recommend that never go for Dell products as they do not care to provide a proper customer care service or an after sales service, once they have pocketed our money.
