Dell Laptop Vostro 1000 — Battery is not work more than 30 mins. after full charging

I purchased my laptop DELL Vostro 1000 in December 2007. Now it is showing a battery problem. while booting it gives an error that Battery cannot be identified. anybody please suggest me the possible solution.

Same here. Must be something with the Vostros made in Nov/Dec 2007! I purchased my Vostro in November 2007 & within 6 months the battery could not be identified & would not charge. I've read this could be a problem with the battery, charger or motherboard. Dell refused to fix the problem from day 1 so I've been stuck with having it plugged in constantly since each of those issues cost between $50 - $200 to fix. Words cannot describe the worthless customer service that Dell has. For this reason alone I will never purchase another Dell & I encourage everyone I know to do the same.

I have the same problem!!! What is the point of having a laptop if I can't take anywhere because it won't charge!!! grrrrrrrrrrr...

DELL Laptops, VOSTRO — problem in battery charging

i bought my vostro 1520 laptop 6 mths ago from chandigarh. since then i am unable to charge my battery while my laptop on.. battery charges only when i am not using my laptop. while using laptop i have to remove my battery and connect to charger to work.. i previously also complainted for the same but no response. kindly see into this matter and consider replacement of my laptop as the problem is from the first day... my laptops service tag no is 3TCQ3BS.
