[Resolved]  Dot Cabs — Non-availability of the cab

On 8 Aug 09 Morning I had booked a cab at Dot cabs Hyderabad (Dotcabs: request no. 575)at their no. 24242424. Pick up time was evening 9 pm. There was no SMS abt the driver contact details till 8.30 pm. I called the same no. & enquired about the status, reply came "There is no cab available as of now". (I myself called them, no call from them abt it!!!). My train was at 10.30 pm. I was shocked thinking of my ageing parents, 1 yr old twin kids & 6 pieces of luggage. Upon arguing they agreed to send a cab till 9.15 pm. I thought of making alternate arrangement & called another cab company. They sent a cab & it reached dot 9.15 pm before Dot cab. I decided to take that one as there was no call from dotcabs. When I started with that one, I received a from dot cab about arrival of their cab in few mins. I said, I have made another arrangement & I dont need your cab now, reply was "You have to pay Rs.100 as cancellation charges |o|". I disconnected the call. I gave feedback on company website, no response.

BEWARE of such incidents. ALWAYS make alternate arrangements. Keep on calling them till the cab reaches.

I got reply from company & they apologised on this, issues compensation voucher worth Rs. 300/-
what are the other alternative cabs for contact ?
Excellent service!!! Always on time and there drivers are extremely courteous and well behaved. I recommend my friends and relavtives to use such a good service. I used there website www.dotcabs.com and they just charge Rs 150/- for indica and Rs 200/- for Innova for 10 Km using the website.
Plus point of dotcabs - they are one of the rare cab companies which have 7-8 seater in abundance.
Negatives - old cabs.Tyre and self are gone. I and my dad (63 yr old) have to push it to get started.
drivers are not efficient with the vehicle.It got punctured in between and driver took 45 minutes to fix it though he should have done it in 15-20 minutes ...
Driver are not aware of city ..

I am not against them but please ask below questions before you book the cab -
1- What is the make of cab they are sending .
2- Ask them if the driver knows about city .
3- Ask them what if the tyre gets punctured .

Its a really costly service like all other and you have all the right to with the best ...In my opinion its Meru, only problem that they don't have 7-8 seaters ..
Drivers need proper training about how to behave with the customers.I have encountered recently when the driver had demanded extra amount to the tune of Rs300 by lying to the supervisor in front of me and the supervisor had also agreed to the same.
The fact that the cab had not reported to the designated place of pickup and customer had to board cab from where the driver was waiting was not even taken into consideration. Such attitude is disrespectfull and totally uncalled for. This was the last time I booked a cab from DOT CABS.
Horrible Customer Care.
Today i missed my train for Nagpur where i was scheduled to have an important meeting. Booked the cab at 12.40 pm for the pick up at 8 pm. Received the confirmation of the booking at 12.43 pm with booking no. B001186. Did not received any driver details till evening. Called at 7.37 pm to ask about the status. The customer care executive very confidently assured that the booking is made and the cab will arrive dot at 8 pm. When the cab did not arrive, called back again at 8.12 pm. Fayyaz, the cust. care executive apologized and told that the cab would be arriving by 8, 15 pm. Got a call at 8.18 pm by Anupama, Supervisor; that the cab got delayed and will take 10 more minutes. Called back a 8.22 pm. Was told that the cab is on the way. When i tld that i have still not received the driver details, again there was the apology and assurance that i would receive the details in 2 mins. I insisted to speak to Anupama, was kept on hold for a long time...and then was told that Anupama would call me back. i received a call at 8.27 pm from Anupama. When asked what happened about the cab...she apologized...but did not provide any solutions. I told her that i have not received the driver details yet. She said that the cab is n the way already and would take 10-15 mins. eceived driver details at 8.39 pm. After that it was just calls...and making promises that the cab would be there in 10 mns. i got a call from the driver at 8.50 pm. He asked me the exact location and told that it would take about 30 mins to reach. I asked whether he was aware of the pick up timing and he replied in negative. I asked him how much time he would take to take us to secunderabad railway station and he said that it would take about 1.30 hrs. My train was at 10.00 pm. I asked him that he can come only if he is confident to reach Secunderabad Station before 9.50 pm. And he said it is nt possible. Then he asked what he should do to which i told him that he should ask his supervisors. Then i got a call from Dot Cabs again that whether i would like to cancel the cab. I said that i would not like to cancel the cab, but i want an assurance that i would reach my destination on time. After some time i got a message from Dot Cabs that my booking has been cancelled on my request. When i called Anupama she said that the customers get this message only even if it is because of the mistake of the cab service. This is pathetic and i was shocked to see such a major goo[censored]p by a reputed cab provider. i lodged a complaint and was told that someone would get back within 24 hours.

I am going to the consumer court now and going to sue the company.

The worst part is that the customer care executives are impolite, insensitive and untrained.
Horrible service, not reliable, can ditch you in last moment leaving you no where. You miss your flights/trains /appointments...
