[Resolved]  Ebay.in — Refund Rejected

Hi!

I purchased this cell phone "Samsung Omnia i910 (Verizon-CDMA) from ebay by a seller name i2c world, I asked him will it work on Indian Network like Reliance or Tata CDMA? He said yes, you just need to go to local shop to get it unlocked and it will work. I got this phone and gone each and every corner of my city and the next big city for almost one and half months now but no one is able to help me, as everyone says it cannot be done.

I approached i2c World and requested them to unlock it for me or suggest me someone who can unlock it for me, and I also told them that I am ready to pay whatever charges it will be for unlocking the cell phone. I was ready to pay them and the guy who will unlock it for me. But they never responded to my emails after that.

So, I took help of ebay chat rep, he said shared my concern and he suggested me to opt for Refund option and I will get a call within 2 days, but didn't got any call within 5 days, so I approached again and very next day I got a call and I shared everything again to that lady. She heard everything and said, we will get back to you.

Then, I waited for more than a week but I didn't not got any call. So, again I chatted with ebay chat rep, he said you will get a call very soon, I have forwarded your complain. I waited for 5 more days, but no call again, so again I went for chat and this time they said, I will get a call within 2 hours. I was not happy to I asked for Supervisor (Pranay) he was very rude and tried ending the chat without resolving my issue. And said, I need to wait for 3 hrs.

I waited for 28 hrs, but never got any call, so I directly approached Pranay this time and he was rude again with me and I had a heated argument with him for making me go round and round, so he said I need to wait for 2 days now. I told him, give me in written or send me an email that yes, I will get a call within 2 days and also told me that I will get email about it within 1 hr. But for 3 days there was no call nor any email.

So, I forwarded this issue to the higher lever by email and after waiting for 3 days and letting them know that I will file complain against them in Consumer Court, today I got a call saying that they have rejected my refund. I told that guy everything again and he said that it is mentioned that Carrier is Verizon (US CDMA service provider) so it will not work in India. I told him, if that is the case, then why did the seller told me that it will work in India? And, when you too know about it, how can you allow them to sell that cell phone to Indian customers when you now it will not work here?

The guy had no answer. And then, I received an email saying the reason for refund rejection is: "Others."

Now what do I understand with "Others?" This is ridiculous... terrible customer service.

Here, the seller is selling item which we cannot use in India, still Ebay allowing him (i2c World) to sell it on your website (to Indian customers) which will make other customers to buy it and then suffer like me and lose their hard earned money as the seller provides totally wrong information to the customer to get a sale and once he receives your money he never responses to your emails or helps you in any way.

On top of it, ebay too helps those kind of people and reject our plea for refund when they should not be allowed to sell items which does not work in India/cannot be used in India.

This is absolute cheating and fraud done with many customers who are shopping on this site.

Now I would be filing a legal complain against the seller and ebay for cheating the customer and protecting the fraud instead of helping the customer, although they mention on their home page that they will protect the customers and will refund/replace if the product is not delivered or not as it was mentioned.

Don't know if this will help me or not, I hope other customers like me don't get into their trap and lose their hard earned money... Very unhappy customer... :(

Here is my story with i2c and ebay.

<b>The service is pathetic and frustrating.</b>

I bought a blackberry bold from icc and received the item after 20 days where I had to pay INR650 as octroi charges. After opening the parcel I found the unit to be refurbished and not the new unit as described.
The unit had a duplicate battery with a bad quality panel and signal issue.
I tried to contact the seller but no reply then I wrote to ebay and they said the issue will be resolved. I asked them time and again if I need to do something to get the refund, they said nothing just wait for our call. Ten days passed and no call I called them again and the same story. They gave the excuses like the claim handler left the job (so it means no coordination at ebay customer service)and i will receive the call. After continuous follow up today almost 45 days after I recieve a call from someone named SOHAIL (ebay claim adjuster) and he asked me to give them a proof that the cell is refurbished. They said that I need to go to the Redington Service Center and ask them to gimme in written that the cell is not Brand New. When I said that why didn't they tell me this before and what if they don't agree to give me in written as I didn't buy it from them and don't have warranty, (Just have the bill). Then he said that he can't refund the money and when I asked him to give me his supervisor, he placed me on hold for 5 mins came back and said that the supervisor will call back in 10 mins...its 10 hrs now and I have not received any call.
I am an editor with TOI and I have all the (recorded) conversation and mail with me which I am going to report. I want everyone to know the kind of service eBay is providing. THINK TWICE BEFORE BURNING YOUR HANDS.
eBay and I2c are both cheating on Indian customers and making money. I never expected this kind of Service from a brand name like eBay.
NEXT TIME BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU PURCHASE ANY ITEM FROM eBay BECAUSE IF YOUR ARE NOT LUCKY ENOUGH TO RECEIVE THE DESCRIBED ITEM YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR MONEY>.

EBAY — waited more than a months, never get reply and no refund. ebay on hold the money.

i had opened claim case from UK ebay on 17 dec, 2010, i had waited more than a months timing util right now. and never get my result. also i sent a lot of emails to ebay and asked for my case when i get refund, ebay never get reply. ebay never update my case status. i had made a phone call to ebay. then they told me the case is on the way. and told me to fill out a request form. i did research on ebay. there are no request form..what the hell.....ebay always say they had buyer protection, but ebay is wasting my time. if ebay cannot do dispute, the i need to go paypal to dispute my case. but right now ebay on hold my case and do nothing. i cannot open the claim case on paypal, because paypal is no power to open the claim, once ebay opened. if the case is waiting more than 45days from the purchase date( purchased date 12, dec, 2010), then i cannot open dispute case on paypal. ebay doesnt want refund ....
also the item already removed by ebay. i cannot check it out any more..

on 13th may i ordered a dvi to hdmi converter from ebay which was rs.295 , but i got a different item as i prescribed , so i sent the item back and asked for refund from my paisa pay option , but the paisa pay rejected the refund ,i dont know what was the problem , before my refund rejected i contacted ebay and they told me to click the option refund after a few days , i did what they told me but i didnt get my refund , ebay told me to refund at 28th may and i did but it was rejected by paisa pay.Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ebay claim process is a fake thing, They dont do anything i guess. I have left ebay since i suffered similar issue when they closed my claim without doing anything.
